After walking around the cobblestone streets of Prague's Old Town for hours and hours, I was completely, utterly exhausted. I expected to be a little tired, but it was much more intense than I predicted. My hip felt out of whack, my back was tight, and my shoulders and neck ached. The only thing I could think to do the next day was get a massage. I took a gamble on a place without any Yelp reviews, because they had good reviews elsewhere, their website was easy to use, and they had openings as soon as an hour from booking. I was a little nervous I'd get there and find out it wasn't a "legit" massage spa, but when I walked in I immediately felt relieved. Safe, convenient location with a professional, Zen-like lobby.
The massage was different than any kind I've had before, which I expected from my research, and now I'm a big fan! I can't remember exactly which package/service I chose, but it was at least an hour and involved face and body massage. You remain clothed and lie on a mat on the floor. I was in a small, peaceful room by myself, which made me feel comfortable. My therapist was kind and polite. I asked her a little about herself (in English) and she told me she's originally from the Philippines. My favorite part was at the end when she stretched me in various directions.
Afterwards, they brought me tea and I sat in the lobby relaxing, watching the serene aquarium scenes on the TV and making use of their wi-fi to choose a restaurant for dinner. I saw a handful of employees coming and going from the building, seeming to be in good moods, which was reassuring - I always worry about human trafficking in these sorts of industries. I paid cash (and tipped with cash), but I believe they take credit cards too. I left feeling rejuvenated and so glad I went! read more
