Now I admit that I don't know what Thai food is really supposed to taste like... but judging from the 6 or so Thai places I've been to, this one is pretty good; prices are good too. The place is kind of a hole in the wall... plain looking brick building on the outside, situated in a big parking lot on a side street off route 9 near Spags. There's a bar on one side that's frequented by tradesmen and locals... I think they have darts. The dining room is on the other side in a separate room. I've never seen more than 3 tables occupied in my 4 or so visits. This place was closed for a long time for renovations (feels like most of 2006)... but it doesn't really look like much changed in terms of appearance. Apparently they lost their cook also, and the menu has changed, but the food is still up to the quality it was before. The calamari was delicious and not rubbery... the thai rolls were good. I've had the red and yellow curries and enjoyed them both. You can specify the spicyness on pretty much any dish. They have some kind of spicy basil noodle dish that's good too (drunken noodles?). My friend had some kind of whole fish on a platter (head and all!) that he seemed to enjoy immensely and then proceeded to terrorize the vegetarians at the table with the skeleton. Thai Time is kind of a basic Thai restaurant, and a little bit of a hole-in-the-wall at that. But its warm atmosphere is welcoming, and the food is pretty decent! We have ordered almost every appetizer on the menu at some point, and all are spectacular. Portion size is good, and everything is warm and fresh. The entrees we have ordered have been fairly good - pad thai was wonderful, but the curry was a little too spicy. Prices are good, and they often have coupons on various sites. My only caution is if you are interested in the green tea ice cream - keep in mind that their version has actual tea leaves in it. A little out of the norm for me - and I wasn't a fan. This is EASILY the best Thai Food I have had anywhere. I cannot believe it either. When we heard that there was a great Thai place in Clinton, we were skeptical at best. My husband and I have been back at least a dozen times since then. We haven't gone a week without swinging by. The food is delicious! Truly delicious! Here are all the reasons to go: 1. if you're a fan of crab rangoon, you must try thai time's crab rangoon! the best! i kid you not. as for the rest of the menu, you won't be disappointed. like, seriously, the whole menu is delicious! good for vegans, vegetarians, and meat lovers. whether you love spicy or non spicy, they've got you covered. the portions and the prices for lunch&dinner are very reasonable. (the prices on yelp are actually outdated) if you've got a sweet tooth, the dessert menu won't disappoint you. the ginger&coconut ice cream is delicious! as for the atmosphere, many colors, and prints going on. haha. kind of discombobulated yet warm&homey. not fancy and upscale thats for sure. thats not what matters anyways, its all about the flavor&food! :) the crowd/ noise level... some days are quiet(when its not crowded) and some days are loud(crowded & weekends) there are two tables outside available for dining outside when the weather permits. also the place is BYOB(bring your own beer/wine)! no glasses? no problem, they'll provide you with some. they also have cork/bottle openers if you forget to bring your own or if you just don't have one. Went here with my wife 2-3 times, the food was enjoyable, but we felt it did not come 100% as advertised. It was never spicy if it claimed to be, and they have been closed during times that their menu and website say that they are open. We had people over once expecting to order food and when we showed up it was closed, which forced us to try Similan, their loss, our gain. It is definitely worth a shot though, a bit of a laid back interior, nothing modern, but its fitting of the food. read more

I often stop into Thai Time during the week for lunch and am never disappointed. I always get the vegetarian basil pad Thai, extra spicy. The vegetables are always fresh and crunchy with enough spice to give it the kick I like. They lose one star because the wait is always much longer than they say it will be for takeout. read more

We have been here several times now. Each time the food has been excellent and the service very friendly and attentive. This evening, we chose to place a take out order. We were not disappointed. We love to drop in when going to a show at The Strand Theater (just around the corner). We bring our own bottle (which keeps it cheap). The Pad Thai is great, the currys are dynamite, the Rama Duck, and Drunken Noodles, too. I haven't had a dish that wasn't dee-lish. Most restaurants usually drop a notch or two after the "grand opening honeymoon" is over -- not here. The very sweet ladies who run the place take a lot of care and put in a lot of effort in keeping the ingredients fresh and maintaining quality and consistency in the dishes. A really really pleasant surprise on a little alleyway in Clinton. Super-flavorful, fresh food. I got Drunken Noodles, one of my perennial faves, and the spice level was just right. My fiancé is trying to go lighter on the carbs and starches right now and was delighted to see a Pad Thai-type option with bean noodles instead of rice. We only got takeout, but the staff, both on the phone and in person when doing pick-up, were very friendly and gracious. There will be much more Thai Time takeout in our future! read more

This would be the last place I would think to find a really good Thai place. I came across it one Saturday afternoon and I have stopped in a few times since. I have had a number of different dishes and they all were great!! The duck choo chee had a tangy sauce with the pieces of duck so so tend shrimper. The massaman curry was tasty and spicy. The Tom Yum soup was thin and had lots of shrimp and mushrooms, One thing was clear from the first time I was there. when the food was delivered, it looked picture perfect. I don't care about that, but each and every time I have eaten there, I have noticed the detail of having dishes look incredibly nice. The service has always been just fine. While many places charge dinner prices all day Saturday, they have lunch process late into Saturday afternoon, which to me makes t an even better place to go to. Food was delicious. However, we waited 20 minutes after being seated before a server came over, had to ask for water and then found our own silverware after asking for but not receiving any. After that we waited another 30 minutes before any food was delivered to the table.
