Salad with peanut sauce

The ambiance, excellent service, cleanliness and attractiveness of restrooms, background music, diverse selection of lunch specials, delicious complimentary iced tea, large portion sizes- were all outstanding. We are only in Palm Springs one more day. If we were staying longer, we'd definitely return.

What a great place to go to on a steamy afternoon in Palm Springs. Ask for the spicy, hot sauces. I had wonderful Thai food in San Francisco, but this is awesome. Great service, great ambiance on a hot desert day, and a wonderful experience.

This review is strictly only for take out but it was first time here. So I'm visiting Palm Springs and staying in Palm Desert and kinda wanted some good Thai food. You know heat to go with heat! So I come here and order take out. Let me just say before I break it down that the service was very nice. Clean restaurant and prompt service. But... Thai Smile -- more like Thai Frown 1. This spot (for Thai) is way overpriced! Like way...when does a simple Thai street entree like Pad Thai go to being $30 for an entree when in its home country it's a street food worth $3? Come on. Unless it's seafood pad Thai this is ridiculous and so I couldn't get it. Instead I went with the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) and they were ok but small portions and not the best of Thai (drunken noodles) flavor you get 2. Never asked me how hot I wanted 3. Didn't provide napkins for a to go order. No no no! 4. Portions are small given the cost. Not good if sharing 5. Found a branch or twig in my noodles. Not sure where that comes from but why?? So disappointed. Idk overall it's just not what you'd expect from your neighborhood Thai place and it's just not that great given the price of the entrees. Sorry no. Shame bc I love the cuisine and when it's done right -- it's to die for.

I used to visit Palm Springs often when I was in college. It was a party town for us. I was catching a flight home and decided to look for some lunch. Right in downtown is Thai Smile, the restaurant is in the corner. There is a parking lot on the side, however it's some walking distance. They share the lot with other businesses and there's alot of people out. They have a big menu and cocktails, also lunch specials. I decided to get the spicy basil lunch special with side salad. Delicious lunch, wished that I had more time to explore.

I should have read the review before coming here because for Thai restaurant with a Yelp less than 4 is a red flag. Yet, we came here anyway since we did not have many options around the area. The restaurant decor was good and the staff was very polite. The food came out quickly. As for the food, the Tom Ka was too sweet for a Thai soup. They added too much mushroom. The chicken wings were okay. The papaya salad was okay but I which it was more flavorful. The price was definitely too high. The food was too Americanized because the taste was sweet-based. Overall, I don't recommend the place much.

Good service. Nothing special, but lots on the menu to choose from. Prices were average to high. Street parking. Cute area that it's located downtown. Overall plenty of seating for large and small groups. Happy eating.

YELP SHORT ANSWER: First time here, very nice experience on a busy day. LOCATION: Near everything with a lot of parking options. So find a spot to park , walk, and explore some of PS. FACILITY: Traditional inside, nice buildout but a little dated but totally functional and very clean. MENU: A lot to take in for me, similar confusion with all my visits to Thai restaurants but I asked questions and found exactly what I was looking for. FOOD PREP: Very nice and seemed consistent, they know their craft and present a casual plated meal. I have had some exceptional fancy Thai experiences but that food was just okay, not at Thai Smile they let their food and service speak for themselves. Great food here. FOOD QUALITY: Excellent ! WAITSTAFF: So nice, our lady was very kind and happy... which made our experience all that much better. OVERALL VALUE: A bit expensive but it the current reality of costs associated with running a restaurant in PS. TIP: Try even if you're not fluent in Thai cuisine, ask questions and have fun. This place seems to get busy after the main drag starts filling up, prior to 11:30am seems to have seating on weekends.

Really solid Thai food spot in Palm Springs. The place is clean, spacious, and everything we ordered tasted legit -- wait staff here is super friendly and actually themselves thai. We got the pad thai and a curry, both were flavorful and loaded with protein. Portions aren't huge, but they're fair for the price, and they throw in a soup or salad to start plus complimentary Thai tea, which was a nice surprise -- I've honestly never seen that at a Thai place before. They even offer lunch specials on weekends, which is great if you're just looking for a good, affordable meal without dealing with the usual overpriced tourist stuff. Definitely a solid choice if you want good Asian food in the area.

Since we came back for our annual bowling tournament, we had to come back and enjoy the food here again. It's a medium to large size restaurant that offer's patio seating. We opted to sit outside and dine since the weather was so perfect this time of year. Our server was friendly & professional and took our drink orders upon seating. Once he delivered the drinks he took our food orders. Since I am on a low carb diet, i chose to have the satay chicken appetizer & fresh shrimp spring rolls again. Some of the best satay chicken I've ever had and their spring rolls are a good size portion. Also they have some of the best peanut sauce, that I like and prefer. Everything is a great value & portions for the price. I always enjoy dining here when we are in town.

Conveniently located Thai restaurant that is open later than many other dinner places in the city. Decor is beautiful but feels dated and appears to be needing some TLC. Staff was friendly and the service here was fast. We ordered a few things and no complaints about taste or the quantity. My husband liked the Lemongrass Chicken. I liked vegetarian dumplings. Pad Kee Mao was good too with plenty of veggies.

Overall, everything was good and I'd come back if I was in the area, but it's a very casual spot. Definitely not a date night kind of place, more of a quick, laid back meal when you're craving Vietnamese or Southeast Asian food.

I've been to a few which you think they'll be good but it was a little disappointing. Alway hunting for amazing Thai food... My second time here and it's good. Of course with this heat wave, it's so hot to sit outside which the patio tends to be pretty off limit in the heat. Unless you prefer it. We came for dinner which was still pretty early. There's two main entrance, the front and the side/back where the patio is. And two dining area, front and back. Well we walked in, it was a little daunting as we were the only one there. That does have an effect of do we stay or leave. Anyways, we stayed as we enjoyed our meal last time. It did pick up during our meal. Service was great with our waiter. Constantly refilling our waiter without us having to mentioned it. Menu wise, a good amount of Thai dishes that you would be familiar with. The only downfall, they don't have noodle soup which is a favorite for me. If a restaurant has it, that's a plus. Well they don't carry it. Also there's a bar so that's good as well. Honestly it doesn't matter to me with Thai food if they bring out starters before or with the meal. I'm going to enjoy it regardless. Food, we had the chicken larb. Minced meat with Thai spices and a nice sour sauce. So good and had it with a side of rice. That's normally served with cabbage but this time it's with Napa cabbage. Never had it that way but it was still good. Entrees, the spicy noodles. So many different names for them but all the same. Thin rice noodle with whatever protein and slice veggies all tossed together with a nice sauce on top of lettuce. Some places add that while others don't. Lastly the massaman curry, with carrots, potatoes and peanuts in a rich curry sauce. The food was good and very tasty. Portion wise was plentiful and perfect for a main or à la carte with friends. I'm alway on the hunt for amazing Thai food and this place is quite nice.

It's absolutely worth the diversion. They have a small section with groceries, and a larger area with refrigerated goods. I tried El Cubano (no tomato, no cabbage), Potato Salad, and Key Lime Parfait. El Cubano was actually delicious. Their thinly sliced and seasoned seitan was perfect, as was the accompanying sauces and toasted bread. I'd order this on repeat if I lived nearby. I was surprised by how great the potato salad was. It had the perfect mayo/mustard balance, which is extremely difficult to find. I need a gallon of this. The key lime parfait was ok. I expected more (in terms of flavor, not quantity), but it was not bad. I've just had much better so I wouldn't order it again. I'd be willing to try a different dessert next time. The chupacabra sandwich was good, the menu said that the 'chicken' is thinly sliced, I didn't realize just how thin it is. I think I would have preferred if it were slightly thicker and less cabbage.
