Cancun,MX I'm rating…read moremy takeout experience. Food only. Stayed at JW Marriott. I was very tired on my travel day so just got a takeout dinner to take to room. I was absolutely stunned how good my food was! I ordered the xx 2 boneless chicken thighs, grilled. The flavors were absolutely wonderful. I've never seen thighs on a thigh menu so I'm gonna say it is a fusion type dish. It came with sticky or jasmine rice but I upgraded to fried Thai rice. It was so flavorful. I think it had pineapple (not my preference) so I'd ask to leave that out next time. After a couple other dinner meal misses, I decided to come back a 2nd night. I got the red curry beef with jasmine rice. It was equally good. Highly recommend this place.

Food: We had ceviches, seafood tacos, octopus, seared ahi, salads, pork sandwich, margaritas, and wines. Everything was tender, perfectly seasoned, and fresh. Drinks were nicely balanced. Portions are plentiful. Fresh chips and salsas were delicious. Service: Both times, all servers here were attentive, friendly, and helpful. Quick, yet not rushed. Ambience: you don't get better than this, as it's right on the water. The view is the ocean. You're dining al fresco under a huge straw roof with a very Polynesian vibe. Side note: expect more Latin inspired flavors and dishes, not Thai nor Asian. If you keep that in mind, you'll love it. Highly recommend.

Really don't understand the bad reviews below. The older ones may be about a previous owner/chef…read more We really loved the sushi at Ice. It's definitely of high quality. It is a bit more expensive than what you would expect in this part of the world, but compared to the US it's still a really good price. The staff was really friendly and all of them speak English. Oh, wait, AND THEY HAVE A CROCODILE!!! The restaurant is located at a Lagoon with lots of crocs. One of them is the resident croc of this restaurant. Pretty cool. I would definitely recommend eating here.

First of all the waiters barely speak English. This restaurant is located in the mall in an…read moreextremely touristy location so it'd be helpful for them to speak basic English especially considering that all other restaurants we dined at during our trip did speak basic English. The waiters were not particularly friendly. When we asked if they gave a welcome drink for staying at the hotel across the street, our waiter said yes and then tried to take our room key even when we asked for it back... Just an awkward and weird interaction that set the tone for the rest of the night. The first waiter couldn't finish taking our order since his English wasn't good so a second waiter came to take our order instead. I ordered the chicken skewer dish as my meal, and my boyfriend and friend ordered a seaweed salad as an appetizer to share and 4 sushi rolls. My chicken skewers came out first so I began eating thinking that the rest of the food would come out shortly. After I was half way done with my food three of the rolls came out. Still no seaweed salad. So finally my boyfriend asked the waiter and he went back to grab it. Not sure if they just forgot it completely or what but that should obviously have come out first out of everything we ordered. Then finally the last sushi roll came out and by that time I was completely finished with my food. Food is supposed to come out in a certain order, appetizers first and everyone's main course should come out together... Not too much to ask. Onto the food quality.. The sushi was just very mediocre. It didn't taste like they put a lot of effort into it. The salmon didn't look like salmon or taste like salmon. None of the sushi looked appetizing for that matter. Also the tempura shrimp in the tempura roll was completely cold which is odd because usually they make it fresh... The chicken skewers were the only positive to the entire experience at this restaurant. All in all, avoid this restaurant. Go next door to Thai, much better food quality and staff.

Ice Sushi - Tempura rock shrimp is #4 on the menu. (Very good) The classical mojito in the back is also delicious.

They brought out special dessert to celebrate special occasion. Really loved it. Second visit: We walked in for dinner, busy. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and we were as patient as can be. Tables around us received seconds before we ever got our original order. I was looking forward to dinner but it was about an hour and I gave up. We got up and informed the front that the wait was too long and other tables after us received better service. Things happen. The manager on duty apologized. Second visit didn't ruin my thoughts on Moongate. Their menu is great and the atmosphere was lovely.

In terms of restaurant options at the Hyatt Ziva, I would put Moongate kinda in the middle tier. It was basically one the meals we were fine with and would consider going back while we were at the resort. Ordered: - Sashimi - Salmon, Tuna, Catch of the Day (Sea Bass) - one of the thickest and widest cuts ever. - Special Kiuri Maki - this one was ok. I preferred the other maki we got. - Maguro Spicy Maki - Bibimbap - Lo Mein - this portion was really big in my opinion and they give a lot of protein. - Banana Mille Feuille - a bit dense for me. my least favorite dessert we had at the resort.

SO dissapointed…read more First: the waiter was picking his nose openly......... The acai bowl i got was supposed to have banana and mango and passionfruit. Turns out it was mixed in the acai (i think?) never heard if that. It definitely didnt taste like any of those fruits. The fruits i added.. well... the peach slices never made it to the bowl... the prunes were BITTER .. (my thing is do t offer it if its not ripe?!) and the raspberries were out of the freezer. But worst: the acai itself was icy/choppy and bad.. i didnt even finish it But the latte.. i asked the waiter less milk. He brought it full milk.. but it wasnt even espresso! It was SO bad i could not have more than two sips. I should have returned it but its not my style. Ugh. And the waiter wasnt even nice. None of that mexican hospitality... just cold and not smiling and he dissapeared. There were like 7 staff members and two clients... no one smiled... well one woman did but all the others i always said gracias with a smile and nothing. It was bad bad bad. Oh and no parking,

I would not have had so much patience!
