I scheduled an oral surgery with Dr Vuu - four wisdom teeth, two bony and two impacted. Let me say how wonderful the office staff is, as they are succinct and scheduled me as I wanted the surgery asap. Within a week I was in the chair relaxed and ready for the procedure. Dr Vuu exudes excellence in care with his methodical expertise and attention to his patients concerns on sedation and aftercare . I would never believe that wisdom teeth removal would be so easy to deal with, no pain and no swelling. Amazing! l had the best experience one could have as I had Zero pain afterwards. That same day a few hours later I was active and catching up on tasking as if nothing really happened. I had less facial swelling than before I went into the procedure. This was a referral from my dentist. They scheduled consult with me almost a month out from actual procedure, a wisdom tooth extraction. At the consult, very little information was provided but I thought more would come later. They did hand me a single Valium pill and said take it an hour before your procedure. The pill was not in a safe container. I questioned a medical office handing out pills of Valium in this manner but I held onto until the day of procedure. I took it and went in the waiting room. No one ever met with me again or my wife who was in the waiting room. They pulled me back for what I thought might be a check-in but it was for the actual procedure. They asked me weight and height and I got the impression I was about to be given anesthesia. So I tried to start asking questions and the woman in there said my wife would have all the information I needed. During the procedure, my tooth broke and they had to give me shots of who knows what and none of this was ever explained to my wife. I was three sheets to wind and had no ability to communicate to my wife. I have no recollection of leaving the place. My wife had no idea what to ask and no idea how the whole thing went. We were given no take home instructions and the whole thing was a very awkward experience for such a simple procedure. I would not recommend them to anyone due to lack of communication. I have been close to medical field all my life so I did not freak but I could easily see how this might be traumatic for some. read more

I really didn't want to get my wisdom teeth extracted but Dr. Vuu and the staff here really made it as good of an experience as it could be. I would definitely go back if I needed any other oral surgery completed. Consult: Appointment was on time, Dr. Vuu explained the procedure and answered all my questions thoroughly and politely. I never felt rushed and it really seemed like he wanted to make sure I understood and was comfortable with everything he was saying. Extraction Day: Got to my appointment and they started right on time (i love punctuality!). They took my husband to watch a video on how to help me after my extraction ( which he said was very helpful) and while he was doing that I was being prepped to get knocked out. Dr. Vuu again asked if i had any questions before starting but I was good to go. I went under anesthesia and next thing I know I'm in the car on my way to the pharmacy with 2 less teeth. I really liked how they gave me that ice pack thing that wraps around the head, I think it really helped keep down swelling. Post Op: After the numbing went away the pain wasn't bad at all (I had imagined it would be way worse). Dr. Vuu called a few days after the surgery to make sure everything was all right and to make sure I didn't have any questions. I only took the prescription pain killers for 4 days (probably didn't need that 4th day). There was some swelling the first couple days then I looked normal again. Follow up appointment: Got to the office and seen a few minutes early =) Dr. Vuu took a quick look to make sure everything looked good asked me about pain and if I had any questions and then showed me how to clean out those holes where my teeth used to be. He's so pleasant to talk to. Insurance: The office handled all the claim paperwork. The day of surgery I paid for what I was responsible for (which they will tell you after the consult) and the rest was billed to insurance. I'm not sure if this is how it always is but after my insurance filed the claim they sent the check to me and then I just paid the office. read more

Dr. Vuu and his team are FANTASTIC. I was terrified to get my teeth removed (5 of them) and did not want to be out under. So much so I put it off for 2 years with my other dentist. Dr. Vuu was recommended to me, and I actually did my surgery without going under. He went slow, explained everything to me and was super nice/gentle and made sure I was ok. It's the next day after my procedure and I'm in no pain, no swelling and am comfortably watching TV. I even received a call from Dr. Vuu today to see how I'm doing and how I'm recovering. Got all my wisdom teeth extracted recently and lemme just say Dr Vuu and his team are the best! His staff is knowledgeable and help you answer all your questions. As for Dr Vuu, he's very thorough in explaining the procedures and ask if you have any questions without rushing. I was put under with IV sedation and did not feel a thing. I healed up pretty quick with minimal pain and no swelling. Dr Vuu even gives you a personal phone call to check up on you after 2 days of surgery which no other Dr does! They also provide you with tools and adequate prescriptions you would need to help with healing. I would def recommend dr vuu to anyone needing oral surgery! read more

Stay away from Vuu and the rest of these idiots. I couldn't chew for 4 months. They laughed at me, literally, and said they were not responsible. They invented a disease that I happened to contract at the very moment he was going crazy trying to get a molar out. They said I needed treatment from another doctor. I studied the jaw and the joints on the web and finally realized how to get my jaw muscles and tendons to heal. Vuu gave no assistance or advice, and even lied about the muscle structure in the jaw. Read about the risks of dental surgery before going to any surgeon. Your life can be ruined. This place was well prepared to spit in my face in locked step. BEWARE. Quiz any surgeoen beforehand and try to find out if they are going to dump you like garbage if things go wrong. read more

I came to Dr. Vuu to get 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. I have ridiculously low pain tolerance, so I was terrified. I had my x-rays taken and then I waited for my consultation. I'm pretty sure I was the longest consultation he ever had, because I had so many questions! This was my first surgery, so I left no stone unturned. He was very patient with my redundant questions. Then, he explained each step of the whole process (before, during, and after surgery) very thoroughly and I immediately felt at ease. When I came back the next week, I started getting nervous again. When Dr. Vuu walked into the room, I started asking him questions again and he made sure I was 100% comfortable before he started. He started making casual conversation and I barely noticed the anesthesia injection. My memory is fuzzy post-surgery, but I do remember being surprised that there was no pain. I was also wheeled out in a wheelchair which was great. The next day, Dr. Vuu called me to check up on me!!!! I was so surprised, it showed that he really does care about his patients. He asked me about the level of pain and how to help the swelling. In addition to the phone call, he scheduled a check-up appointment for the following week! When I told my friends this, they were so surprised because usually their dentists just give them a little handout with post-op instructions and they didn't have any follow up whatsoever. When I came in the next week, Dr. Vuu made sure that I knew how to clean my empty sockets to make sure that I wouldn't get an infection. Overall, Dr. Vuu is one of the nicest healthcare professionals I've had. I'm used to being rushed in and out of dentist/doctors' appointments, but he took his time and always made sure that I was well-informed. I can tell that him and his assistant have a lot of experience together, they work together so well. The office is very clean and modern. I wont even give this Doctor a 1 star, this doctor should have given a minus 100 stars for horrrible experience I had with him and his staff. First when I arrived in his office this day, the staff said I had to do x-ray again and I said I had a lot of x-ray done already on Doctor Yap the dentist who referred me to this Doctor. I said I have concerns about the radiation I got from the previous one and the staff totally ignored my concern and proceeded to the procedure. The staff directed me to the room and called Doctor Vuu and I told the staff was disrespectful and not even smiling and did not even greeted me. When all the health care facilities throughout the US is investing a lot of money on customer service, it seem that Dr. Vuu is doing to his the opposite way of addressing the problem. I really felt that the Doctor was trying to protect her staff and ignoring my concern. The MD then proceeded to examine me and recommended for extraction. I asked Dr. Vuu about any medication he will prescribed to me since my tooth is infected and I am in a lot of pain. Imagine I was the one who reminded him about the medication. I asked if he can give me antibiotic and pain medication and said he can only give me at the most tylenol no 3 which I said does not work on me. I said never mind i don't want you give me anything and Dr. Vuu proceeded to schedule my surgery. Imagine, my tooth is infected and I am in a lot of pain and he just agreed on not giving me anything. So this doctor is going to operate me and he would not resolve my concerns of infection and pain. So believing that this Doctor is a not a good one, on the way to his staff I said I would just cancel my surgery, When the doctor realized that I am going to cancel my surgery, he immediately ran towards me and ask how can he help me. Because he seems upset already to me, I told him to shut up already because he was trying to convince me to reconsider my decision. Dr. Vuu lose his temper and ordered his staff to call security when in fact I am not trying to create any problem and I was already to exit his office. Dr. Vuu, appears really angry loses his professional conduct and even escorted me outside the facility, which is I am on my way to exit his clinic. As i have said, I cant imagine a health care provider will fight a patient and showing his staff how tough he is that he can fight a customer. I hope Dr. Vu will realize that the customer is always right and would listen to any concerns the patient will throw on him. What a shame. read more
