I remembered I ordered the Pipis with Basil back in 2017, but couldn't remember what I thought of it, so I am back here in 2022 and I tried the following items: Pipis with Basil - as mentioned, got this again and I thought it was good, but my mother makes it better. This place the sauce is a bit too thick for my liking, but since I love pipis, I came back here again to get them, but this time I asked them to make it super spicy and it tasted a lot better. Spicy Chicken Wonton - okay this is a total fail. The chicken was super dry and just not good. This is the worse spicy wonton I ever had in my life. Kong Bao Chicken - ordered this but I asked them if this is Kung Pao Chicken and they said yes, and this was also the worse version I ever had. It tasted as though they fried the chicken and then cooked it. The chicken was super dry as well. Hot & Sour Soup - decent Beef Noodle Soup - okay this won me over that made me want to come back. I thought this was a good dish given the weather. Pork - good Prawn Dumpling - good size filling in here and ordered some frozen ones to go that I totally forgot to eat. Taiwan Style Smoked Chicken - I think there are two menus floating around, because the one that I saw didn't have the word tea in it, but I believe I saw another one after the fact that had the word tea. When I originally got it, it was to share but didn't realize it was tea smoked chicken and A doesn't like tea, so I was stuck with this large chicken. This didn't wow me, though the chicken wasn't dry, but the novelty of this didn't last long for me. I wanted to order this Tainan Dan Dan Soup Noodle, but it threw me off since it says Soup and I never had Dan Dan noodles that were brothy and when I got to the store I asked them and they showed me a picture on their menu and I have never heard of a soup version of Dan Dan noodles. Maybe they got the name wrong? I didn't get it because I wanted the dry Dan Dan. I want to say service here is eh, but I really didn't like the fact that the shorter lady, who might be the owner or head manager needs a lot of work in hospitality. Both times I came here and I dropped 90-100 dollars and the second time I asked her to give me chili sauce and the other lady gave me this other one that had no chili inside, so I said no, I want the one with chili and she brought me just sliced chili with no oil. I said I want the one that you gave me when I ate here with the chili oil, so the manager lady scolded me as though I am supposed to know the chili sauce I wanted was what they called homemade chili, but meanwhile I think chili sauce was pretty clear. Anyways, the reason why I bring this up is because I saw that the sauce costs $.50, but she charged me $1.00 and she was going to originally charge me a $1.00 just for some sliced chili. Like one little tiny chili sliced doesn't equate to a dollar. I am mad that I have ordered loads of food both times and not only did she charge me a $1.00, but ripped me off because it was supposed to be $.50 only. Shadiness!

I can't comment on the service as they were a full house and only had 1 person serving everyone so it wouldn't be a fair review. Although it was friendly enough, and for those who are expats they also speak Chinese here too. I ordered my usual taiwanese dish (and main reason why I came here), which is the Beef Noodle Soup (http://travellingfoodie.mobi/wiki/items/5362e2ec2f8bba0200afa16e) - and I was blown away on how tasty it was (particularly with Australian beef), and also the value for money based on quality and portion size. It is conveniently located just a few stores down the road from Burwood Westfield and within walking distance of the mall or station. I don't order from their set menus as I love making my own Thai stir-fry. After many different combinations, I now like to order Vegan - Wheat noodles in medium Thai sauce, with crushed garlic and sweet basil and lots of cashew nuts. They pack it in cute cartons with chopsticks, just like in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. The one time that I've eaten in store I ordered the Red curry and found it equally tasty!

Thai Intra used to be our go to spot but after changing owners last year we haven't really been back. We decided to give this place another go (had been there a couple times ages ago) and we were not disappointed. We couldn't decide between a stir fry and a curry and decided on a compromise of Choo Chee- stir-fried mild red curry with mixed vegetables, a touch of creamy coconut milk topped with finely sliced kaffir lime leaves. It was a great compromise. The perfect combination of curry flavours and the lightness of a stir fry. I definitely recommend it. We also got the stir fried eggplant and it was good but not my favourite. It has Thai basil and why I keep ordering things with Thai basil time and time again when I KNOW I don't like it is beyond me. So you can't fault the dish, it's just my tastebuds that failed me on this one. It's a tiny place with little stools for seating so it's not somewhere you want to go and relax for a long night out. It's more of a quick dinner spot. Like I said before- it's SUPER cheap for Sydney. Takeaway prices for sit down dining (about $10.50 per stir fry). Can't beat the free corkage either. The doors are always open so if you go on a cold winter night, bundle up. And be prepared for some Military Road traffic noise. For the price and taste combination I give it 4 stars. If i was judging on atmosphere and complete package, I'd give it 3 stars.
