Overall this place is a legit 4.5 star for food. I had the red curry, and was on par with the top restaurants on the West Coast. The service is what drops the rating for this restaurant, as food will take a very long time, and for unknown reasons. For instance, a curry dish should be among the easiest and quickest dishes to cook (with a cooking time around 5-7 minutes), but it took almost an hour to get my food, granted that I was in a group of 13 people. If the restaurant works on the service, this could be a 5 star restaurant. read more

I give Thai Jasmine four stars only because my experience of Thai food is relatively limited. I must leave room for the possibility of one day encountering even better Thai food. But make no mistake: given the quality of the atmosphere, food, and service at Thai Jasmine, that possibility is extremely difficult to imagine. Having been to Thai Jasmine on numerous occassions, I can confidently say that their service is always friendly and prompt. It has never taken long to receive my order, and no matter what I order it always exceeds my wildest expectations. Among my favorite dishes are their crispy rolls, pad ka pow, pad kee mow, and mussman curry. Despite the quality of the food, their prices are quite affordable. One can purchase a sumptuous dinner for $10 (tip included). Regardless of whether or not there is a Thai restaurant that exceeds Thai Jasmine somewhere on earth, I can say with complete confidence that it is the best Thai restaurant in Lima. My friends and I met at Thai Jasmine yesterday for lunch and it was excellent. One of my friends and I ordered Thai Pad which were was delicious. The portions are very generous! I highly recommend the spring rolls which have a little bit of a kick but are so yummy. Also the crab Rangoon is to die for!!The server was very patient and pleasant. This little Thai food restaurant has phenomenal food. Everything on the menu is delicious, literally everything! Appetizers are great, sweet thai tea is awesome, entrées are huge and the wait staff is the best. The owners are passionate about serving the best Thai inspired food around. Came down from Ada while visiting our daughter at college. Did not disappoint. Both soups we had were hearty and fresh. My wife had the coconut lime and she loved it. We also had the crab Rangoon appetizer which was fabulous. All three entrees were excellent. We only had water to drink and walked out the door for $45 (+tip) for lunch. read more

Satay salad was excellent (dressing bordering on too sweet, but wasn't, with nice level of spice, and very pretty garnish). Yellow curry was also delicious - nicely spiced, veggies were just the right consistency - my parents basically finished off every drop of the sauce with spoons after the rice ran out. (Somewhat skimpy rice for three people sharing a dish with a lot of really great sauce, which is a little odd since the rice should be super cheap for them to make, right?) Sadly, the pad Thai beef was not so good. Goopy, oddly sweet, and Mom thought it was "missing one of the usual flavors." Nice big chunks of scrambled egg (they're probably not supposed to be that big - one looked like it was about 1/3-1/2 of one egg). Pleasant, somewhat leisurely service (we spent about an hour total there for dinner). They were remarkably busy the whole time (Nobody standing waiting for a table, but not a lot of open tables left either.) Overall, pleasantly surprised to find pretty good Thai food in a relatively small town (OK, I'll admit it's a very small city). read more

The best Thai food I have ever had! Me and my boyfriend ordered crab rangoons, pad thai, chicken satay, and mango sticky rice. Everything was delicious :) the crab rangoons taste so good with the crispy outside and the nice hot crab and cream cheese inside. Only have came here twice when visiting a friend. This was my first experience trying Thai food and it was wonderful. The wait staff and and owners of the restaurant were very friendly great positive attitude and good at recommending dishes. We started off with a crispy roll and that was very good it was very crunchy and the stuff that was inside of it just made a great balance along with the dipping sauce that was given for the roll. The main dish that I ordered was the pineapple cashew and I had added chicken to it it was delicious I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. read more

Thai Jasmine is set on SR-65 on the Southeast part of downtown. It is not in the best of areas not is the building in the greatest shape. The decor is low-budget and a bit outdated. Plastic covers tablecloths and island bamboo and grass tiki-style overhangs the edges and trimmings. This is the reason why a star has been taken away (the lack of bar, location, and building add up). The food is definitely worth 5 stars. This isn't saying it is the best Thai food I have eaten, but for location and price, it warrants the praise. We tried the Ma Pai Pad King with beef, Yellow curry with chicken, and the Crab Rangoon. All were phenomenal and quite well priced. The curry was spicier than expected, but still wonderful. I would ask the kitchen to time it down unless you can take very spicy meals. The restaurant is BYOB, so bringing a bottle of chilled wine is great. All in all, it makes for a great night of southeast Asian food within the Lima area. read more

This place is to die for. I love the grunginess of the building and area, and when you walk in the door you're immediately transported to another place. Everything I have tried is delicious. Thai Jasmine is one of our favorites in the Lima area. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the servers are always nice. I ordered food from here and they gave me the wrong order I took the food back and wanted my money back. I drove all the way back there and they didn't even have the decency to give me all my money back, I didn't notice that they short changed me until I got back home. They get 2 stars from me because this was not the first time it happened as far as my food not being prepared right, the food is just decent not anything to be stoked over and also the way they handled my money, one thing I dont play about very unprofessional. You have to watch out when it comes to your change I had 16 crispy rolls at 1.00 each as stated on menu and Two iced teas small and crab ragoon 4.95 for 8 pieces and I sent my husband in to pick up our order I called in and he was to pay with the cash I sent him which was 30.00 because I thought would be more than enough well he got there at 9:13 pm right before close this Friday 3-9-18 and they charged him 51.00!!!Unbelievable and he didn't know just figured I must of not knew prices as he has had to pitch in before but never this extreme!! I called several times no answer which we all know they stay there and clean up after hours we all do right. Well I'm going to call tomorrow again and get our 20 something dollars back!! They should answer then. Never will I go here again ever!!!!Dishonesty lost me.There is no mistaken considering we were the last order of the night husband says only one in there even and they even repeated his order WOW. BEWARE!!!!!!!!My poor husband got taken he has such a good heart and never would be rude but I will be tomorrow. read more

I'm a huge fan of this place. I never would have found it on my own, or gone in on my own because the outside admittedly looks a tad creepy - bars on the windows are not so welcoming. There is parking available behind the building & there is a door in the back. I love the interior - it's cozy & laid back & has personality. Very casual place. I heard they don't serve alcohol but they let you bring your own - I haven't tried that yet myself. You can seat yourself - you can grab your own menu by the counter if you want or wait until someone brings you one. Attentive wait staff. You can also get carryout - I saw several people come in & pick up orders while we were there. The prices are more than reasonable for the portions. Crispy Roll appetizer was great (a tad greasy - maybe let it sit on a paper towel for a few seconds). My hubby got a soup I can't pronounce & I won't try to spell it, but is was basically a huge pile of mixed veggies with broth - amazingly simple & really hit the spot! The main dishes were great - flavorful but not too spicy. I had a hot tea that was really nice too. Places like this are Lima's little gems. read more
