I am a meat and potatoes guy, but this is pretty good and it is not a bunch of rice noodles and limp vegetables. do not be afraid to go to the three star level of spice. Came on two different nights, ordered the same thing--massaman curry. The first time I requested level 2 spicy, because the waiter told me it is Thai spicy, not American spicy. Not spicy enough, but curry was tasty. Second time I ordered level 3 spicy--the curry came out bland and way sweeter. My friend ordered a green curry with level 3 spice and it was also bland and too sweet. The waitress told me it was the same chef, but didn't seem to care that we barely touched our food. We ordered the chicken satay appetizer, panang curry and the two kids meals (Mac & cheese and chicken fingers). For dessert we ordered the mango sticky rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The kids meals were priced fairly for the portion sizes. The server informed us the sticky rice would only be available if they had mangoes that were ready. I appreciated that because the dish would have been terrible with unripened mango. This was horrible!! Nothing authentic about this place! I got the tom yum soup ( turned out being so sweeet) asked if I can send it back and she charged me for it!!!! For Dothan, Thai house is a very good restaurant. I've had several curry and noodle dishes here, all have been very good. The few appetizers I have had hit the mark for Thai. If you're used to Thai food, you may be slightly disappointed. The orders that I've had here tend to be toned down on the heat. The flavor/spicing has been been right. read more

Beautiful dining room. Impeccably clean bathroom. And I always have figured if the bathroom is clean, so is the kitchen. Spring rolls were so-so. Generic out of the box frozen and fried variety. Pad Thai was flavorful but over cooked. Spice level was requested hot but was more like a medium. Seafood pot was very tasty but again over cooked. The shrimp was hard it was so over cooked. And the calamari had the consistency of a pencil eraser. Which is a shame, the spice was right, the flavor was great, it was just way over cooked. No worries though, we will be back. Food - There were 3 of us and we ordered take out. We ordered phad thai, spicy drunken noodles (phad kee mao), calamari, and edamame. All were excellent. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not soggy and not too heavy on sauce. The calamari were large pieces, lightly battered and not rubbery. Edamame were as expected, nothing out of the ordinary. Everything tasted fresh. Overall much, MUCH better than I'd have expected in Dothan. Atmosphere - We didn't eat in the restaurant but the dining area was very clean, quaint and, dare I say, stylish. I would definitely eat at this location in the future. It appeared to be a popular dinner spot as people kept coming in to eat while we waited for our takeout. Service - The wait staff were friendly and offered us drinks while we waited for our orders. Price - Very reasonable. All Thai dishes can be spiced to your preferences, I chose ** stars which is a medium heat because I wanted to fully sample the flavors in my dish. It was outstanding. Wow. Me and my coworker came from California on a business trip. Couldn't believe how great their Pad Zeu was. LIKE WOW.!?!?! Green curry was great too but a bit too sweet for my pallet. This is not your typical asian restaurant. The first thing you notice is that the atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. Excellent place if you're out on a casual date with your significant other or just looking to find something different and out of the ordinary. For a weary traveler like myself, I am just looking to get away from the typical chain restaurants. I studied the menu and found they have very unique entrees. I chose the Pad Thai with Chicken because it is a safe "1st dish" when trying out a place like this. I like it spicy and if you do too, ask for their hot sauces! They have a homemade chili sauce (similar to Sriracha) that gave it a very nice spicy flavor without burning you face off. Driving from the Florida Keys, I had plenty of time to read all of the reviews on restaurants in the Dothan, Alabama area, so please let me say, I am so grateful for the honest reviews of Thai House. It not only met my expectations, it exceeded them. True Facts: 1st, don't be fooled by the strip mall location. 2nd, the atmosphere is serene and the ambient music is pleasant, not annoying or loud. 3rd, this place is CLEAN, including the restroom (women's, for certain!) 4th, be realistic about how much spiciness you can actually handle. I had a two star dish which is considered spicy and it was perfect for me (I like spicy and think I can handle it, but at two stars my ears were literally on fire...in a good tingle-y, 'I can't hear you because I'm enjoying this dish so much' kind of way, but I think I'd be passing out at three stars, call the fire department at four.) This place deserves all the accolades & rave reviews it has so far received. To borrow a phrase from a famous California Governor, "I'll be back." read more

Really delicious food for a reasonable price. Came for lunch - $10.95 for soup, appetizer and entree. I also ordered a Drunken Noodle with chicken to take with me. I didn't get a chance to have the noodle dish fresh and hot, I ordered it for dinner, but that didn't stop it from being amazing. Wow!! The food here is wonderful! I ate alone since I'm from out of town for work and they even gave me complimentary vegetable fried rolls. The Tom Yum Goong soup was more than superb. It had the perfect balance of sour and spicy, making for probably the best soup broth I have ever had. My husband and I have eaten at this restaurant for years. In the past at times the cooking oil they use for the pad Thai glass noodle seemed old and afterward my tummy was a bit upset. Last Saturday, both of our dishes were too greasy. Husband had drunken noodle, I had Pad Thai glass noodle. The grease was pooling in the bottom of my dish and the noodles were sticking together and way over cooked. The after effects were not pleasant...diarrhea for 3 days. Service was well above average with an attentive wait staff with the patience to point out which dishes were spicy or not--even down to the items on the appetizer sampler and the accompanying sauces. As for the meal, my wife declared her won-ton soup the best she had ever tasted. I had the Tom Yung Goong soup and spicy green apple salad--both top notch, seasoned and prepared just the way I like it. The "Volcano chicken" also was spiced very well; however, the meat itself was a bit over cooked...as in tough vs tender. My wife's stir fry was tender and cooked to perfection, and the rest of the meal was a delight. I certainly recommend The Thai House for Asian food in the Dothan area--for value and flavor. Fantastic. Me and my date went today to go and see if this restaurant is worth coming to for homecoming night with friends. And it's seems perfect! Fancy and calm place with great food. Had the volcano chicken which was great! The staff was lovely as well. They always smiled and looked happy to have us. My Husband and my favorite lunch spot!! We can't say enough wonderful things about Thai House. The food is fresh, authentic and simply delicious! The Volcano Chicken is to die for. The staff are absolutely fantastic, always greeted with a smile. They are attentive without being overbearing, and are fast to come by with a carafe refill of soda. We recently moved to the Dothan area from Massachusetts where it is a Mecca of cultural diversity. To find this gem was a stroke of luck. Friendly greeting at the door and the service remained courteous and friendly throughout the meal. The lychee juice was light and refreshing, the Thai ice tea was delicious and satisfying. Tom kha was very good. They used premium chicken breast but the pieces were to large to soak up flavor that early in the evening. The BBQ pork skewers were cooked nicely, just slightly overdone. The iced jasmine green tea is delish. It is sweetened however. Had 2 apps, firecracker shrimp - kinda boring - just shrimp wrapped in wonton wrapper. Crab Rangoon was very tasty. It wasn't just cream cheese like I am used to. It had what I think was an egg base. The wonton was very flavorful, will def order again.
