It is a very intimate place to have a conversation with which I loved. My waitress was one of the friendliest I have ever encountered. She was attentive and accommodating as they had already closed and was not rushing us at all. They start you off with complimentary soybeans which is great. We ordered the cream cheese appetizer and I have to say it is one of the best cream cheese appetizers I have tried. Cooked to perfection as it was creamy and soft to the bite. I got the pad Thai lunch special for $16.95 that included a crispy and flavorful spring roll, fresh leafy salad (I found the dressing a bit too sweet), and freshly sectioned orange with a raspberry. Their pad Thai is one of the best I've ever eaten with both the distinct flavor of tamarind and wok hay. Their orange chicken lunch special included the same salad, spring roll, and fresh fruit, along with a scoop of white rice for the same price. The chicken was crisp, not too sweet, and had the wonderful orange flavor imbued by actual grated orange peel! Service was very professional and kind. Been dying to try this spot since it opened and after reading the good reviews I was even more excited. This review is strictly for takeout but I will be back to leave a review once I have dined inside. Thai Fire has an extensive menu and really good lunch specials if you dine in. I appreciate when a menu has so many delicious looking entrees that it makes it hard to pick what to order. Always a good problem to have. For takeout we went with our classic orders of a rice dish and a soup. A little out of left field for us but we ordered their orange chicken only because we had read a few reviewers highlighting how good it was, so we didn't want to pass it up. No issues with the delivery at all. Our food came exactly as we ordered it and was packaged carefully which we appreciated! Good portion sizes too which for to go orders you never know. All in all a great spot to get takeout from. As for the food, an easy 5/5 stars! Everything was delicious. Their fried rice has a good amount of extra veggies that you don't always see. The rice tasted really fresh and not greasy, yet had nice flavor. My favorite was definitely the orange chicken as it was white meat chicken and had the most luxurious sauce with a nice mild batter. You really could taste the light orange flavor, super delicious and I can see why it was a fan favorite. The toss up was the Tom kha soup for me, it was good but the broth didn't taste as developed as some other places I like in the area. All in all though every dish was good and I'm even more eager to come back to try some of their other raved about dishes like the spicy crispy catfish. Also if you like spice this spot hits the mark because their chili oil is FIRE for you hot sauce lovers. Thai Fire is a new place to try on Ventura 's Main Street in midtown. And it's worth a visit! Fresh, clean and welcoming, there are only 8 or 9 tables inside and another few outside. It seems to be family run, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The menu was large and covered almost any type of Thai food. I had the lunch special ($14.99, multiple choices). It was excellent! They have a selection of 3 different fresh made chili selections. Our waitress recommended one that had 2 different fresh chili types sliced into a sweet vinegar that was incredible. Everything here is so incredibly delicious. Seriously, you can't go wrong with what you order here. I've had my fair share of Thai food, but nothing beats this restaurant. The staff is also so incredibly sweet and attentive. The portions are so generous, and the drinks are really delicious too! My friend and I came here on a busy Saturday evening and we saw nearly every table full, so we thought "this place must be great!" We did not realise that we were very wrong. It seems like there's only one or two people who act as servers, which makes for a very delayed service. We were greeted when we entered and given the last open table; but no one came to offer water or drinks for 15 mins. Even when we were finally offered drinks, we were discouraged from ordering a smoothie because "it takes 15 mins." There was a nice man who I assumed was the owner who went around checking on tables and asking how everyone's food was, but he was never once helping serve food or deliver drinks. Our food was just okay. I ordered brocolli, spinach, and chicken in peanut sauce, which was very heavy on the sauce; it felt like soup. Also, even though it says "steamed spinach," it's clearly just raw. The peanut sauce was very creamy by had little flavor. My friend had ordered some type of noodle dish with tofu that was very flavorful but stopped eating midway after finding a hair in her dish. We didn't bring it up to our server because she was clearly the only one serving every table, and we felt bad giving her an extra burden to deal with. Overall, it was a less than positive experience. The birra quesadilla we had at a food truck at midnight was unfortunately much more satisfying. read more

I wouldn't have ordered it if we didn't like it. I got a text from Thai Fire saying my order would be ready between 7:30p - 7:35p p.m. (an hour after I ordered). I arrived at 7:33p. I told the server I was there to pick up my order. She went back to the kitchen and came back saying they'd need 5 more minutes. I sat down to wait. She came back and asked if I needed anything. I said "just my food". There were three tables seated ... not very busy. She started to explain that they were backed up. I wondered why, given that only three tables were seated. Then the manager came over and asked if I needed any water. I said, "just my food". He started to explain, offering additional context ... I said I didn't need additional context, just my food. We decided to have dinner in Ventura and found this Thai gem! We ordered the Pad Kee Mao with chicken, Crab fried Rice and a steamed fish that wasn't on the menu. We also had a Thai iced tea. All the dishes were very flavorful and we loved the citrusy flavor of the steamed fish. If you like citrus and spicy flavor, give this a try. Just show the picture and the staff will know right away. The crab fried rice was very good and had a good amount of crab. We like adding a small amount of spicy fish sauce for that extra umami. The Pad Kee Mao was very tasty as well, and had perfectly cooked veggies! We love to add a little spicy vinegar for that extra taste. We also washed everything down with some delicious Thai iced tea! It's a smaller restaurant with about 10 tables or so. We met the owner and the chef, very nice people! We will definitely come back to try more dishes. Until then, Happy Nom Nom! read more

First off, I feel ambivalent about this review. The food was good. However: My wife and I ordered 2 dishes. The red curry took over twenty minutes to come out and the spicy Thai basil took an additional 15 or more minutes to come. The couple next to us expressed concern and felt bad eating in front of us as all of their food arrived way before any of ours even though we were there before them. Finally, a person who had been there longer than us got up and complained that they had ordered before all of us and still hadn't been served. It really felt like they had been intentionally neglected. I felt bad continuing to eat my meal after seeing and hearing this. It stuck with me and is why I am writing this review.
