My wife and I have been coming here for years. As far as the food, it's a 10/10 and beyond every time (especially for the price). I think it makes for a great casual date with an atmosphere. The service is prompt and concise. Dietary restrictions are not an issue so long as you can accept a recommendation if you're unable to navigate your own allergies. Take-out is easy breezy with some features of the experience unavailable if the order is to-go. If that bothers you, then I encourage you to take the time and dine in for the best value.

Their service is always fast and friendly and they also provide soup or salad to begin with complimentary. I always go for the peanut dressing salad. I have also tried their cream cheese rolls and khao soi which is my favorite 10/10! The portion size is so good that I always end up taking something home with me. The ambiance is super chill and filled with a lot of culture

I've been here many times and I love this place. The food is always really good and flavorful and they serve really big portions. The interior is an interesting layout but it is decorated nicely and they have cute parakeets at the front to greet you. Very reliable and will visit frequently!

Stumbled upon here one day because of the large amount of reviews! I dined in here on a weekday right when they opened. There were tons of open spaces and i noticed tables set up enough for rather large parties. They had an awesome lunch menu everything from bento boxes to single sushi rolls or orders of pad thai which you get to pick one side for $10. My food was pretty good the chicken pad Thai was just the right amount of spice i got a level 2 out of 5. The ginger salad was not great the dressing was watered down so i just took one bite of that. Service was attentive and friendly my water cup never went below half full. Overall this was a great space to grab a quick bite and the prices and variety were awesome!

Lots of good vegetarian options. Very friendly. Loved the eggplant stir fry. Pad Thai with tofu was just okay- a bit saucy for my taste.

Best Thai takeout in town and really nice people running it! Try the pineapple curry.... Yum! And the pad Thai is top notch!

Close to the campus, big and clean environment, and good decoration. But food is just OK, not authentic Thai food.

Myself and two buddies at a Yamato on a Friday night. I was expecting a wait, but one of the guys called in early. So, we had to sit at the bar for a bit, but only about 10 minutes. The bar is small, maybe 6 seats. It's kind of an afterthought in the restaurant, tucked away in a corner near the restrooms. But, it has stools and a guy that pours your beer, so it gets the job done as a bar. Yamato has the usual selection of Japanese beers (Kirin, Asahi, Sapporo), plus some standard domestic fare. They have a short sake menu and some specialty cocktails, including a sake martini that I would not recommend. We were seated at the teppenyaki table with a couple, so only 5 of us total. This allowed us to stretch out, which was nice. Every other time I've dined in a setting like this, the table has been full. Our server came over quickly to take drink orders, but after that it took awhile for her to return to take our dinner orders. This was the only issue, she was very attentive the rest of the evening. I went with the Yamato Special: lobster and filet with all the extras you typically get a place like this. We had the requisite broth with floating mushrooms and fried onions, followed by a simple ginger salad. These were fine. Our chef arrived next, and he was friendly. He immediately started with the fried rice, followed by the shrimp. The shrimp was better than I was expecting, it wasn't overcooked, and was nice and juicy. Also, we got a lot of it. I don't know if the kitchen accidentally gave him too much food, but I would estimate each of us received a dozen (at least) shrimp. Likewise, the lobster was cooked well, certainly not overcooked. The filet was not as strong, it was overcooked beyond medium rare, and did not appear to be the best quality. This was the worst part of the meal for me. A problem with this meal was the pacing. Usually at places like this, you are given time to finish each course, or come somewhat close, before you are given the next course. This guy was shoveling food at us like he was double parked. So, we didn't really have time to enjoy anything, as it was coming at us so fast and our plates ended up piled with food. My buddies I ate with said this was atypical for Yamato, which is good, because it was very annoying. Our server was great, she let us sit for awhile after the chef left to finish our meal. She was also very prompt delivering refills. Overall, this was a good dinner, and I'd return. But, don't expect to be blown away by Yamato.

Our orders were taken and we received our drinks and then we didn't see anyone for another 20 minutes. We took our cups to the bar to get soda refills on our own. We had to do this twice. Finally, a waitress came to the table and said we would have a "little wait" because they only had two chefs working. Our chef acted as if he was intoxicated. He cooked the food but we got no show. None of the fun entertainment we took our kids for. Then he left abruptly and said he would be right back.... that was another 30 minutes. More than 2 hours later we were ready to leave. Oh and the bathrooms were disgusting. All of the toilets were full and there was urine on the floor. So disappointing.

The restaurant is spacious and full of seating, so getting in on a weekend is easier. The service for the most part is good as well. However, if you are in a rush it can at times be difficult to get in and out because of the number of tables - I would probably recommend to-go for that situation instead. Thankfully, to-go is still great because they have wonderful packaging to keep everything separate and fresh on the ride home. It's the best bowl of ramen in Norman by far and well worth the visit.

I wanted ramen so badly this evening. We walked in a little after 7pm and at 7:17 we hadn't been greeted yet, and no one had brought any water etc there was also a significant unpleasant smell? My husband and I noticed one server who was training a girl was working many tables. all other servers were hanging out and talking with each other by the kitchen and front door reception. Finally we were approached as I was getting up to leave. Sorry we did not get to order . We love the food and hope this was just a fluke and want to come back. Hope we can.

I came in on a Wednesday around 1:30 in the afternoon and there was not a soul in sight. I thought this was odd because it was lunch time, however, there aren't a ton of offices or businesses around other than the hospital. The service was good, the waitress checked on me often. I ended up with a two roll lunch special and got the Alaska Roll which ended up being my favorite and I tried the Tokyo roll which wasn't bad, but wouldn't be something I'd order again. It came with a small salad and a miso soup, both very bland. Based on this meal alone, I wouldn't come here for a date, but if I was in the area looking for a quick meal that's not fried or fast food I'd definitely show up.
