My wife and I were in the Bentonville area this weekend for Valentines day and were looking for a place for lunch. We decided on Thai Basil. We have been to other Thai restaurants in this area, but this was our first time at Thai Basil. Excellent choice! The restaurant itself is unassuming from the outside. It's part of a small strip mall with their name above the door. Inside, the restaurant is tastefully decorated in a Thai vibe with pleasant music playing in the background. If you have ever been to a Thai restaurant, you know that menu has a lot of curry, pad thai, noodles rice, etc. with various proteins. There is also the heat levels: 1-5 and then Thai Heat. Our server, Champ, was very friendly and attentive and took care of all our dining needs. We started with the Fresh Spring Rolls and the Crab Rangoon as appetizers. Both appetizers were delicious and well prepared. The spring rolls say 2 on the menu, but apparently, they are big so they cut them in two, so you end up getting 4 good sized rolls. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Red Duck Curry, which is prepared with large medallions of duck, coconut milk, basil and a variety of vegetables. She chose heat level 2, which is hot enough for her. She chose the white rice with the meal. I ordered the Bangkok Mango, which is prepared with shrimp, scallops and squid simmered in a Panang Curry and stir fried fresh mangoes, bell peppers and basil. I also ordered the fried rice to accompany the entree. I chose heat level 4, which is pretty spicy but not overwhelming. Overall, this was an excellent first experience, and we will definitely be back next time we're in Bentonville! read more

Every time I order a combo, I pay the higher price and only get two pieces of shrimp. I've already mentioned this in a previous review, so I know the issue has been brought up. Yeah, the shrimp have tails on them now, but that doesn't justify charging combo prices for basically nothing. Do better. read more

Stopped in at 5pm on a Sunday and we were seated quickly. The service was super friendly and great throughout our visit. The ambiance was nothing fancy but it was more so for the time spent with people. I tried a new dish and I was pleasantly surprised by how great it was. Wife got the drunken noodles and liked them just as much as any others she has had. The Fresh Spring Rolls are always a great choice! Food came out quick even with all their to-go orders. Usually they are pretty good. We ordered takeout and they had the nerve to give us these visually burned (black edges), very dry inside, chicken satay. This inedible chicken cost $10. I couldn't eat more than one bite. I do not recommend this restaurant. It is just mediocre. read more

We've just moved to Bentonville and I have lost count on how many times we have been here. The menu has a wide selection with options to meet every Asian craving!! Tonight I ordered the Green Curry. Compared to standard Thai fare in major T1 metros, this place scores 3/5, but given options in the area, it's on the higher end of the scale. Generous portions, much of it protein, so that's a good bonus. The food was tasty and sauce was prepared just right. The veggies were slightly overdone and mushy, but the sauce makes up for that. The tofu appetizer wasn't my favorite - the peanut sauce tends to separate. Can't speak for service or ambiance since this was takeout. I would return. read more

Great food and conscientious service. Ding on them is worn out booths. We ordered udon chicken, spring rolls, and a thai tea. Tea was great. Spring rolls were good balance on ratios and while no mint, the basil was good. The udon noodles were done well and the heat at level 2 was reasonable even for my wife who doesn't like spicy food. The server took part of our bill off for slow service. We hadn't complained or made a comment. I have eaten many places but had not s the n this before and shows great awareness. Ignore the ambience (it's fine really....) and focus on THE best Thai food in the area. Extensive menu and top notch! Ordered the usual Pad See Ew and it was some of the best. Also ordered Orange Chicken appetizer, expecting the usual type. Wrong! It was huge ($8.99) and delicious. Not your usual heavy pancake syrup covered glob---it was light, perfectly fried and delicious. I could have used more heat. But didn't expect a Chinese dish to be this great at a Thai restaurant! The servers are not very attentive to refilling your glass or checking in, even though they were not busy at all.
