Social media and their pictures of beautiful milkshakes led me to poking around the internet which…read morefurther led to a drive to Campbellfield. What I met there changed everything. The set up is different, and like as if they took a tip from the whole food truck craze. You order outside from a fixed stand and take a number to sit either indoors, or in their outdoor seating area. The indoor section has a playpen for the kiddies and wood panels surrounding the wall. There's a steady stream of people, which I always take as a good thing. The first visit was strictly a milkshake mission. The Ferrero Rocher was perfect and complete chocolate hazelnut, not a let down. The Creme Brulee was good too, but I wish I ordered the Ferrero Rocher. Both were thick, but not too thick, just a really good consistency. And sweet, but not too sweet. The second visit involved going all out with their menu choices: a herb crusted chick burger, Raffaelo shake and waffle cheese fries. And all I can say is whoa. This meal is not meant for one. There's no way. I was happy with everything, but it was so overwhelming to try and finish everything. The chicken burger was a handful on a lovely Sourdough bun, and had a rich Alfredo sauce. The waffle fries were yummy but had a thick and heavy three cheese sauce. The shake was beautiful and just like liquefied Raffaelo, which is exactly what you'd want it to be. It was a learning experience, next time would be one or the other (burger vs waffle fries), the shakes are a must. Or maybe I'd split the burger and still have the shake and fries. I'm not sure, but what I do know is that I won't do all three at once again. Plus side: open til 11pm on weekdays and midnight on Friday & Saturday.

It is easily accessible via public transport, with a bus stop close by. We were a little confused upon arrival as there is a burger track situated at the front - so we thought that Burgies might have been a burger truck and not a 'dine in' kind of experience... but we soon realised that they had both indoor and outdoor seating, and the truck was there to take orders. We were greeted by a friendly staff member at the truck, and all the staff members we encountered there were very hospitable and sociable. We both ordered 'The Lava' burger with an added patty, waffle cheese fries with added avocado, and gelato thick shakes - one being Strawberry Cheesecake and the other Ferrero Rocher. Price wise they stack up pretty well against their competitors. Their most expensive burger is $12.00, and to add-on a beef patty only costs an extra $2.50 - which is amazing value! They have a range of burgers including beef, chicken, lamb and vegetarian options. Their shakes and sides were around average price. We were given a restaurant pager, and then took a seat inside. The venue is really great! We loved the set up, and we loved the use of the crates on the walls which tied in with the industrial area. It has a modern interior, and even had a play pen for kids which we thought was a great idea for families that visit! It wasn't long before our pager went off, so we went and grabbed our food. Everything looked delicious, and we were particularly excited about the waffle fries. They tasted scrumptious! Lovely and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The avocado and cheese sauce went really well with them, and the serving size was definitely decent. 'The Lava' burger was really yummy too! The patty was spicy, which we did not initially realise, but it was enjoyable. The tasty cheese, egg and caramelised onion tasted really nice together, and the lettuce gave a bit of refreshment to break down the spiciness and warmth. We quite enjoyed the mild-peri sauce too! The shakes were thick and creamy, and conveniently given in take-away cups. We were impressed by the overall location, service and food at Burgies - and highly recommend that you check them out.

I will start by saying, and I guess this will form the majority of my review, but this place was really hard to judge. For those who have been to Burger Lounge in Eltham, it had a similar feel right from checking it out on the website, and all the way to ordering my burger. And, yes, they are in a similar area, (and I know this doesn't apply to everyone) but I really enjoyed driving AWAY from the city to find a good burger in a much quieter part of town - it really gives an adventure type of feel. It was reasonable cost wise, and my request to double up on the beef (as I was slightly surprised there wasn't a double patty burger) for $2 made me happy. The $2 side of chips would've been worth $8 too at Grill'd, which was another tick. The burger itself whilst still being enjoyable was missing something small - maybe a special sauce or something of the like! Turkish buns were used too, and I haven't had too many amazing burgers with them unfortunately. So ideally I'd love to give it 3.5 stars, as the experience itself is rather enjoyable (I can't stress this enough), however the burger itself was good without being amazing.

Possibly the only Fish and Chipery for miles around, it's got a nice fifties vibe with assorted retro metal tube vinyl chairs with aluminium edged formica tables and a wicked refurbished b&w telly tucked up in a corner. It's also nice and bright with huge plate glass as its on the corner of the building. It's not completely derro as this place was clearly designed to be retro contemporary with some raw timber and the positioning of retro collectibles. I had grilled cod with chips and a dimmy. The cod was very flavourful and the chips done right well with generous seasoning of sea salt flakes. Dimmies are hard to fail especially on a wintry afternoon. Nice touches abound elevate what could have been a typical fc shop. Down to the packaging which is completely recyclable and the wooden disposable cutlery and the staff uniforms of denim jumpsuits and a paperboy cap (I think that's what it's called) hark back to the early fifties in the ol' Blighty. Make sure you get the malt vinegar dip for your chips. The menu is pretty vast and they've got burgers as well.

Wether thats true or not, I have no idea. The staff are always friendly and they've never been wrong on waiting time and if the owner is in, which is regularly, he lets you sample food hes thinking of adding to the menu. Little gestures like that keep me coming back. If theres anything negative to say its that there's probably too much food in the packs they sell. Im not sure if I've ever finished a meal from there before. As well as fish n chips they also specialize in some delicious burgers. I've tried all of them and i still cant pick a favorite. If they had an eat in option im sure the family and I would go for a sit down dinner occasionally. The food is certainly of high enough quality to warrant it.
