Well, it was certainly worth the trek because the burgers were acrtually pretty good, as were the chips that come with them. Okay, they don't offer beers with their burgers, but then again that doesn't put me off a place. It also has a pretty decent room out the back where you can also consume your fare as well, which once again is a bonus, especially if you don't have anywhere to take them away to.

Most people only occupy the store for a fraction of a minute; both when they place the order and then when they come back to collect . It's full of busy people who scurry away with their respective take-away back home. Recently I had a 17 minute wait on a basic renegade burger. This was more to so with the guy who came in and collected a massive order- we're talking something so big it could shift the earth of it's axis, due to the concentrated mass. Once he and his around 48 bags of food had left the store, I ate and quickly. The burger tasted pretty good and healthy and slightly above run of the mill, but the bun was very crumbly and seemed to be of shitty bread. I might come back another time, but I won't rush to do so. Good burgers nevertheless and better than a lot, worth checking out if you want take away.

As delicious as everything looked, we ultimately ended up splitting a BBQ platter for 1 with some pork ribs added on... and it was still sooooo much food that we left stuffed! All the meat was great, but we both agreed the pork ribs were our favorite. Outside of that, the beef rib and oink ball also stood out. One other thing that really stood out to us, was their sauces. They were fantastic! Not just what they use to cook their meats, but the side sauces. Nuclear wave was a nice habanero sauce with great smokiness and solid heat that paired perfectly with the meats. They have happy hour on certain drinks from open until 6pm on certain days, so be sure to pair a beer with it!

Such a blunt but exceptional approach worthy of the rating I gave it. Onion rings were crunchy and impressive. Wings were beuitiful. The sauce, in multiple occasions was at the perfect level, they didn't make it too strong. The big stuff was the most impressive. Despite its immense, Headstrong appearance the food was actually easy and enjoyable to eat and handle. Every single item was impressive apart from the bread, the buns. Which were boring. So you gotta use it to make a sandwich or something and make the most out of it. Wish I could of given the bubblegum milk shake a chance. Great atmosphere as well. Worthy of 5 stars. Worthy of paying the price that we paid. Excellent customer service. A wonderful experience from third wave Cafe overall.

And happily this cute little place is a meeting of young and old, complete with good grub. You'll find the seasoned old boys manning the fryer and grill, while the young buck lands the customer orders. It's just opened but Old Salt is already a refuge for Port Melbourne locals wanting to avoid the seaside-skyscraper-bachelor-pad crowd of footballers, tandoori coloured plastic WAGs, seagulls and suburban tourists shouting at each other over throbbing dance music at the nearby chippies closer to the water. Old Salt's menu is small just like the venue, but it's honest and traditional, like a nostalgic throw-back to old-skool Port Melbourne. The servings are decent sizes - the minimum order of chips is big enough to keep a bunch of nippers happy after school. And you know what? I reckon these chips are too good to share with seagulls. Did I say cute? Yeah, the refit is kinda special. Love the old bottle crates housing condiments and the builder-chic light fittings. Take a seat under a tree on the pavement or at the counter while waiting for your order in peace. I wonder, should I be telling you this? Or perhaps I should really keep it as my own little secret? OK. Keep it under your hat, I don't want to trip over any chip-crazy birds on my way in.
