This was a mouthwatering surprise on a hot afternoon whilst at Albert Park I hadn't tried Andrews before I had heard that they were really good, This has been my first chance since hearing about the place. I order my usual cheeseburger with the trimmings all the produce was fresh & the bun was just brilliant all that with some of the best French fries I've ever had I'd say it was an all and all great meal that I would recommend to everyone I'll be trying something different next time on my quest on finding the best Burger in Melbourne.

Hands down the BEST hamburger in Melbourne. Not to be confused with new age burger joints jumping on the American bandwagon this is a traditional Aussie burger that never disappoints. Andrews is a must but be warned this place gets busy. It is worth going when this place is packed to see the staff bombing out hundreds of burgers with ease. For those not keen to wait make the most of ordering via the phone.

Andrews Hamburgers has a serious reputation to uphold. Just take a look at the smirking, cravat wearing Matt Preston photo, signed and proudly displayed on the wall. Not to mention the numerous Cheap Eats Guide accolades. Add to this the countless personal recommendations you've no doubt received. Everyone is always raving about Andrews. This place has some serious foodie credentials, a little strange for a takeaway burger joint you'd think. Nonetheless, the praise keeps on coming in. Widely agreed to be Melbourne's best, people flock from all over the city to this little Albert Park store. The queues are always long, with satisfied punters milling outside and munching on their burgers at all hours. The staff are affable and smiley and service is quick given the crowds. Classic burgers done with style, this place promises a seriously satisfying meal. Old school numbers such as dim sims and potato cakes come in at only $1 each. While the burgers are all $10 and under and come with lettuce, cooked onion and tomato sauce. My personal favourite, the "With the lot", adds egg, bacon, tomato and cheese. There are also chicken burgers, steak burgers, souvlakis and a few vegie options. Believe the hype, the burgers at Andrews are extremely good.

As we don't leave home (the cbd) much whenever we do go out I like to try new places in the area to the destination. I've heard of Andrews' Hamburgers at Albert Park, but then I picture it being lake side, which it is not. Instead it's on a strip in a suburb called Albert Park, with a tram that goes through it ending at South Melb Beach. We had a burger, the American of course :P It was good but nothing amazing while the bread bun reminded me of the 6pks at the supermarkets. Potato cake and chips were of the standard fish and chip store variety. It's very different from all the trendy burger places that rely on theme or $8 milkshakes to get the customers through the door. Just plain ordinary burgers for locals is how I'd sum up. The service was very good and there were a few tables outside. Best to order over the phone to skip the q. I don't understand the hype - unless you've comparing it to local fish & chip shop places that do burgers, because their burgers don't seem that good. But being in the city there's a burger place on every block.

Having visiting friends who recently moved into the Albert Park Area, we were told quite comprehensively that Andrews Hamburgers served up the "best burger in Melbourne" we decided we had to check out. That's some claim that gets bandied about far too often. Apparently Andrew's Burgers has been there for over 50 years and has a huge reputation and a number of celebrity fans. As the measure of any burger joint, I of course went for the Lot. The benchmark I would be comparing it to was probably Danny's Burgers in North Fitzroy. At $10 you get a large grilled succulent pattie with egg, crispy bacon, melted cheese, grilled onion, tomato, and crispy lettuce packed into a lightly toasted white bun. Tastewise, I'd say it has the slight edge over Danny's lot. But I would have to put these side by side (a logistical problem) to properly test. Pricewise, it is slightly more expensive but probably worth it. The friendliness of the staff at Andrew's Burgers is great and the service great too.

Well, it was certainly worth the trek because the burgers were acrtually pretty good, as were the chips that come with them. Okay, they don't offer beers with their burgers, but then again that doesn't put me off a place. It also has a pretty decent room out the back where you can also consume your fare as well, which once again is a bonus, especially if you don't have anywhere to take them away to.

Most people only occupy the store for a fraction of a minute; both when they place the order and then when they come back to collect . It's full of busy people who scurry away with their respective take-away back home. Recently I had a 17 minute wait on a basic renegade burger. This was more to so with the guy who came in and collected a massive order- we're talking something so big it could shift the earth of it's axis, due to the concentrated mass. Once he and his around 48 bags of food had left the store, I ate and quickly. The burger tasted pretty good and healthy and slightly above run of the mill, but the bun was very crumbly and seemed to be of shitty bread. I might come back another time, but I won't rush to do so. Good burgers nevertheless and better than a lot, worth checking out if you want take away.

As delicious as everything looked, we ultimately ended up splitting a BBQ platter for 1 with some pork ribs added on... and it was still sooooo much food that we left stuffed! All the meat was great, but we both agreed the pork ribs were our favorite. Outside of that, the beef rib and oink ball also stood out. One other thing that really stood out to us, was their sauces. They were fantastic! Not just what they use to cook their meats, but the side sauces. Nuclear wave was a nice habanero sauce with great smokiness and solid heat that paired perfectly with the meats. They have happy hour on certain drinks from open until 6pm on certain days, so be sure to pair a beer with it!

Such a blunt but exceptional approach worthy of the rating I gave it. Onion rings were crunchy and impressive. Wings were beuitiful. The sauce, in multiple occasions was at the perfect level, they didn't make it too strong. The big stuff was the most impressive. Despite its immense, Headstrong appearance the food was actually easy and enjoyable to eat and handle. Every single item was impressive apart from the bread, the buns. Which were boring. So you gotta use it to make a sandwich or something and make the most out of it. Wish I could of given the bubblegum milk shake a chance. Great atmosphere as well. Worthy of 5 stars. Worthy of paying the price that we paid. Excellent customer service. A wonderful experience from third wave Cafe overall.

Also expect a semi self-service - we ordered at the counter and food was then brought over to our table. For my burger, I had "Jack da Rippa"- $16.50- A picture perfect burger consisting of crispy fried chicken, topped with bacon, pickles, aioli on a red brioche bun. Taste-wise, however, was rather disappointing! Dry and bland with pickled overkill. Even with the generous use of bacons, it doesn't elevate my liking to this dish. We also ordered the fries, this took 45 mins to be served, and it looks and taste just like McDonald's -_-. The Vaina Loca freakshakes was fun to look at, but it was straight up horrible! Most of the toppings were too stale and not edible. The shakes was also diabetes sweet! Surely not worth the $22 price tag for this! Dirty cutleries and slow service. Overall, not the best restaurant in the city, and definitely NOT the place I would recommend if you are looking for some serious burger.
