Last my friend advise me of houston arborist,so later tr hat week i scheduled a visit from them with a arborist named Josiah, was very informative, he showed me what I was doing an how i was actually hurting my plum tree. After some soil management services and about 6 months my plum tree started to look greener and now I get some pretty tasty plums. Well due to the success I felt I should post, though this post was a year later.

This place was recommended to me by a friend who was very happy with their service…read more I called to make an appointment and the lady took all my info and said she would call back to schedule a definite time on Mon or Wed. That was a week ago. Never heard back and no one showed up. Guess I will try one more time. Update... Called back and spoke to a new lady who was apologetic for the flakiness. Brandon came out for our scheduled appointment and was very friendly and had helpful info on our queen palms. We are going to wait and see how they do over the summer. He even attempted to take a small one up for us. On the phone, they said it would be $100 for the evaluation fee and ended up being charged an extra $3 for a "convenience processing fee" plus tax for a total of $111.25. Not that it is a huge amount extra, but it would have been nice if that was stated up front. Overall, I would deal with them again and see how things go.

Outstanding. Truly outstanding service and experience…read more This was the first time that I'd had Shade Tree out for a quote and then subsequent work. From beginning to end, both my husband and I were impressed. With a pine tree next to our driveway (kissing on a nearby oak) that seemed to have a compromised base, I was anxious to have this tree removed prior to the TRUE onset of hurricane season. We also have quite a few other trees on our property that had become overgrown and were touching or impeding either our house or our neighbors' houses. I called Jose to request a quote, and within days he was here to give us a written estimate. His company is fully bonded and insured. We thought his estimate seemed very fair, but we had also scheduled to receive an estimate from our "usual" tree service, who came out the same day (after waiting nearly a week for a reply). Shade Tree's estimate was better - AND, he was able to come out the following week to complete the job (rather than waiting two weeks as our other estimate indicated we would need to wait in order for him to complete the job). Sure enough, Jose and his skilled crew were here EARLY on the day we scheduled. Perfect! They did a superior job of removing the compromised pine tree without harming the oak that was almost adjoining it. All other trees were trimmed beautifully, with the intent to assist nearby trees in their growth as well as make our home safe. Clean up was superb and communication throughout the entire morning's worth of work was outstanding. This is a local business, and I always want to support local entrepreneurs. Jose and his team certainly deserve a true 5-star rating, as they were a fantastic crew to work with.

Would hire them again in a heart beat and have recommended them quite a few times.

Al was…read morevery responsive while setting up the consultation and service but has since then disappeared. I had to call from a second (work cell) in order to get a hold of him and of course he has since then ceased to answer that number. My issues are as follows: 1-The final invoice exceeded the quote considerably (see photos). I was quoted $2900 and told they might find 'a few things once we get on the ladder that might cost a few hundred more dollars.' The final invoice was $3500. That's a 20% increase from the original estimate. And they did not even fix/find everything, see item 2. 2-They did not find/fix everything. While on my own ladder today doing some yard work I noticed a large crack that Al and his team either failed to find and fix or found and chose to ignore to cut corners/save money. 3-They did not perform all services quoted. The quote included the application of solar seal caulking to areas of my balconies that was never performed. 4-As mentioned, when I reached out to Al about getting me an updated invoice and alleged 5 year warranty information, he disappeared. When I finally called him on a secondary line he told me his secretary was on maternity leave and could get me the documents when he returned. She allegedly returned to work 8/23. I am writing this review as of 9/4. I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau in hopes that others will not have a similar experience.

Rude tone, acted like I was wasting his time with just a repair. EDIT - owner called me up just a couple minutes ago, chewing me out because he did not like his review. Should add this guy has a bad temper. Dropped him from 2 stars to 1 because of the tantrum he threw. EDIT 2 - I see the response. Talk about a bitter response. First off, EVERYTHING I wrote was completely true. Maybe don't insult people the next time you are having a bad day. Second, I was clear in my initial search that I needed a SMALL job. If you don't do small jobs, just don't reply as if you do. Third, both phone calls with you were rude and nasty on YOUR end, sorry I am not obligated to let you insult me just because you feel like it. Maybe you just had a bad day, but you were rude and nasty. It's not smart to expect people to just take that because you feel like being a bully.

I began my search on Yelp to help her locate a tree trimming service that could service the are of Houston my mom lives in. Although there weren't many reviews, the ones available were all 5 stars. Not only did he and his team remove the tree that had fallen, they also hauled away some previously trimmed branches that were set aside to be taken out on trash collection day. Best of all, I was able to pay for the service with Zelle.
