I guess that stressed the tree enough to the point that it couldn't defend itself: it was infested with pine bark beetles. Within days we watched it go from semi-brown on a few branches to totally brown. Wow. Called Texas Tree Elite as soon as they opened on a Monday morning. Within hours, Jose was here to give us an estimate. Since this tree was perilously close to the power lines, it would be a little more expensive to remove. Received a fair quote, and the next day the crew was here. In about an hour, this tree was gone, stump ground, yard cleaned. What a crew! Excellent service with a skilled crew who were very conscious of the neighboring trees, the power lines and our yard. Highly recommended.

From beginning to end, both my husband and I were impressed. With a pine tree next to our driveway (kissing on a nearby oak) that seemed to have a compromised base, I was anxious to have this tree removed prior to the TRUE onset of hurricane season. We also have quite a few other trees on our property that had become overgrown and were touching or impeding either our house or our neighbors' houses. I called Jose to request a quote, and within days he was here to give us a written estimate. His company is fully bonded and insured. We thought his estimate seemed very fair, but we had also scheduled to receive an estimate from our "usual" tree service, who came out the same day (after waiting nearly a week for a reply). Shade Tree's estimate was better - AND, he was able to come out the following week to complete the job (rather than waiting two weeks as our other estimate indicated we would need to wait in order for him to complete the job). Sure enough, Jose and his skilled crew were here EARLY on the day we scheduled. Perfect! They did a superior job of removing the compromised pine tree without harming the oak that was almost adjoining it. All other trees were trimmed beautifully, with the intent to assist nearby trees in their growth as well as make our home safe. Clean up was superb and communication throughout the entire morning's worth of work was outstanding. This is a local business, and I always want to support local entrepreneurs. EVERY TIME, right after they left, you'd never know they were there. They took everything down quickly, SAFELY, and professionally, then they cleaned up behind themselves. Someone visiting later that day would never know they were there or that the work had been done. (Except they may comment "didn't there used to be a tree over there?") The trimmer crew was very professional - they had hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, boots, and all the right safety equipment - you would have thought I hired the Forestry service - which is what they could be but us regular ol' homeowners get to hire them! The best part was they didn't hurt any of my delicate plants below and they cleaned up meticulously. My tree canopies have never looked this nice. We needed a very tall Ash tree removed, a number of broken, dead and overgrown branches removed and we further needed to raise the canopy so our house was visible from the street and the our backyard didn't feel so closed in over the pool. When I called, he came out promptly to give us a quote. We surveyed our property together, discussed what we wanted done, and he made some suggestions about how he would trim the trees for safety and best growth. In comparison to other quotes we felt he gave us a very fair price. On the scheduled work day, Zack and his helper, Jaime, arrived 10 minutes early and began taking down the Ash tree in our front yard, close to the house, that had died. He and his helper have a technique to remove the large heavy branches to prevent damaging the house and the lawn so no huge dents in the lawn and no damage to our house or other landscaping. After that, they moved methodically from tree to tree removing everything we had agreed upon. I watched as he considered which healthy but overgrown branches to cut so the trees would not only look good, but grow nicely. Jaime carried away ALL the debris and fed it into the wood chipper. My yard was pretty much spotless when they were through. Zack told me first thing that the person with the stump grinder would come the next day. I believe he ended coming that evening and made short work of the stump, filling the hole with the stump debris. I then hired Zack to do the same at my Mom's house. This time he was trimming two unruly Magnolia trees, two out of control Vitex and two other trees. Again, he carefully selected the branches on the Magnolias and they look so much better. The Vitex trees were cut back quite a bit but they were totally overgrown, almost tree size, so while they look quite bare now, I know by the end of the summer, they will start looking as they should. Overall, Zack was very professional, friendly, did what he said he would do, took great care with our property and our trees and did an honest day's work for very fair price.
