Upon arrival,…read moreyou park at a designated parking spot and let the front desk know so you can fill out paperwork in car due to covid or if you're comfortable coming in, entering with mask to fill out in the waiting room. It is such a great environment for pediatric care and littles with teeth. Our baby has teeth still erupting but he was able to get his check up, cleaning, flossing, and fluoride administered. Dr. Gregerson was so kind and so was our dental assistant and the front desk folks who helped us every step of the way and calmed mom and dad's nerves. While baby did not like it, they walked us through how to get squirmy baby in and out and did the cleaning with such finess and speed both my husband and I were stunned with how quickly that went, we were both in awe at how he was able to floss baby's tiny teeth. Everything is looking great on his development of teeth, and we look forward to setting these healthy habits so our little one looks forward to a great bill of health. The fact that they are so happy to provide positive reinforcement for anxious kids is so appreciative for us as first time parents. Even more fun was seeing they help play movies like Cars for our baby and there were even video games that my husband indulged in. We can't wait to return in 6 months when our baby goes back so we can keep up making sure his teeth and mouth are in top shape.

After more than 10 years with this practice, I'm incredibly disappointed to be writing this…read more I'm autistic, and like many neurodivergent people, I struggle with scheduling and making it to appointments. I want to be clear: I am already deeply aware of this, and I feel embarrassed and awful when it happens. Nothing feels worse than standing at the garage door with my keys in hand, frozen, shaking, overwhelmed, and filled with guilt. This isn't carelessness or laziness, it's something I actively work to manage. I also understand that missed appointments affect a business, and I am willing to accept financial penalties when appropriate. I appreciate that Pecan Park Dental has waived some missed appointment fees for me in the past. However, my most recent experience felt shaming and dismissive of my disability, and I left in tears. The morning of a scheduled appointment, I was called and told my insurance would not cover the visit because I had hit my maximum. I was told I would need to pay $540 out of pocket for a routine cleaning. I could not afford that and chose to reschedule for a future date when my insurance would cover it. At that time, I was told I would still be charged a $100 late cancellation fee, even though this cost was only communicated to me the morning of the appointment. When I returned months later for the rescheduled visit, I tried to explain that this situation resulted from an insurance and communication issue. Instead of working with me, I was repeatedly pressured in the waiting room to pay the $100 fee. I explained multiple times that I did not have the money that day. I was asked for credit card information over and over, in front of my daughter and other patients. It was humiliating. I ended up crying in the office while still being asked for payment. When I later tried to explain the situation, I was sent a chart of my missed appointments. It felt less like an attempt to understand and more like an effort to reinforce guilt. That approach isn't helpful, it adds to the shame and makes it even harder to access care. Experiences like this are exactly why many neurodivergent people avoid healthcare altogether. It becomes easier to avoid appointments than to face anxiety, shame, and financial penalties. I don't believe this is about bad intent, but it reflects a system that prioritizes policies and revenue over patient-centered care and basic compassion. After more than a decade as a loyal patient, and bringing multiple family members to this practice, I expected more understanding and professionalism. Because of this experience, I will be moving my care, along with my family's care, to a different provider. I hope this practice reflects on how it communicates with and supports patients, especially those with anxiety, autism, or other neurodivergent needs. No patient should be made to feel this way while seeking care

Earlier this year, my dentist decided to take a break from work but I continued to stay at PPFD because the service was good. The office is bright and welcoming. The dental staff is friendly and good at their job. When I switched jobs and insurance, it was a breeze to for the office manager to change out my info. They don't try to upsell you and are honest with the work they're doing.

We tried to find another practice closer to us and dentist shopped for months trying to find a good option to get my daughter some extractions done for two teeth that had progressed. I will say we came here and saw the other dentist (I can't remember her name, instead of dr Lucas who we saw before) and my daughter was 5 and had major anxiety as we attempted to get some fillings done. It was all on my daughter, she wouldn't cooperate. Which is why the teeth ended up progressing. After this we found Dr Jenny Smiles (another practice) who does conscious sedation. We are self pay and it was very expensive but it's the only way my daughter was comfortable with the work they did. It went well but when I took my 5 yr old twins in they suggested 8 cavities for one and 4 for the other and it was going to cost nearly 5k! So we came back to this practice and they decided one twin had 6 cavities and the other had 4 (albeit they're between teeth which is why they're called 4 instead of 2 since teeth touch) They didn't have to numb, my daughter (7) even had a few cavities filled here and was completely comfortable despite nerves. Dr Lucas was SO fast she got all my twins teeth fixed in two visits so as not to overwhelm him and he did fantastic. And so did my daughter. It does cost a lot (less than Jenny smiles since she charges for sedation) despite the discount for self pay but they take care credit. But the care you receive here especially no numbing shots I will pay for! Dr Lucas is incredible she's so smart so fast and so sweet. The kids love her. And so do I cause I have kids without cavities now. dr Lucas did not shame me for nursing but said that's probably what caused the cavities is eating carbs and nursing simultaneously. So thankful for this place- there really is no other dentist that compares to them. The no numbing laser is a God send! I wish they'd work on me. Thank you Dr Lucas!

She said our baby has both lip and tongue tie, but they're not severe enough for surgery. Her reasoning is that he's already latching, feeding, and gaining weight really well. Genius! I was able to relax which allowed me to help my daughter understand, participate, and cope. All of our options were explained in detail and I left feeling comfortable and confident about my 2 year old daughter's situation, and was able to make an informed decision.
