Prices are very High. Why call it a Thrift store. Might as well buy new. Then No Fitting Rooms!!! If I wear a large size doesn't mean all clothes that are large is going to fit. It varies from different brands. So, then i cant return nor exchange. Unbelievable!! read more

I used to love going to Texas Thrift because they had a good selection of products and prices were only slightly above average (I.e., a nice polo was $5-8). However, over the last few months they've been changing their pricing. Items that used to cost under $7 are now over $10. There are some items that they list at what would be typical MSRP. For example, an Under Armor hoodie with a big stain on it was listed for $20. This doesn't limit itself to clothes, I found several single quart Rubbermaid containers for $5 when a pack of 4 is around that. It seems like they only pay attention to the name of the brand and then ignore the condition of the items. The workers are always nice and the service is good. It sucks that they adjusted the prices on everything. read more

This store has gone absolutely downhill and has no intention of getting any better. Besides the insane spike in prices and taking away their senior discounts with no notice, they invested in self checkout registers ..where you have to be helped in order to actually check out. If you thought the restroom situation could not get worse, check the pictures out for yourself. The entire hour I was there, the speaker kept calling for assistance in the restrooms and when I entered, I was absolutely speechless. There was actual on the toilet bowl, no locks on any stalls, and you can expect for there to be no toilet paper or hand soap. I can't even begin to imagine what the men's looks like. I left appalled by my entire experience and encourage someone who has some knowledge in cleanliness to take care of this issue above all else. read more

Pay attention to your receipt! I was overcharged and told "we don't credit back, you just get a store credit". Hard to believe. My credit slip was the cashier writing on my slip that I was charged the wrong amount, I'm not sure how that will be interpreted by the next person to see it. I guess I'll find out. I should've noticed when she told me the total but there are so many people here because it's senior day and I just wanted to get through the line. Would've been nice to hear an apology for my inconvenience and overcharging me but they acted like it was my fault for not saying anything sooner. I gave the Two stars based on my experience today and the disorganization of items in the housewares, toys and misc. area...it's a mess. read more

Lots of inventory at this location but prices are high--- which means they resort to "recycling" to move left over merchandise. Witnessed employee throwing books into a HUGE box ---- was told they needed to make room for other items. Why not give them to customers for free??? I asked. The employee said --- Oh no, they send them to other countries. They will not end up in a dumpster. I'm not so sure--- So sad to think they raise prices on everything to sell a small portion INSTEAD of pricing things correctly so they can sell every last item. Truly so ! read more

Haven't been to the store in a while, ,so the self check out was pretty new to me. I think once it gets going, it's gonna be great, but for now taking off our own hangers was the only problem ! but I found some good deals so it's OK and Bryson was so helpful! read more

Texas Thrift - Baby clothes - Thrift Stores Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

I'm surprised by the low rating, this place was awesome. They had everything, literally everything you could possibly want or need. Everything was labeled, easy to find and pretty organized (except for the books). I think the pricing is pretty fair, things are a little more expensive than I've seen at goodwill but they look nicer. The staff was friendly too and even walked around to help people find things or calculate pricing. Only complaint is the bathroom is DISGUSTING. It seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in years. All in all though, I'll definitely be stopping here again. read more

I was chased down by an employee with her telling me I wasn't allowed to have my backpack. She was very rude and condescending. I told her it was my purse and she said oh well you can go leave it in the car. Side point I'm dressed nice and I'm wearing my lanyard around my neck with my WORK BADGE on it- so this lady thinks I'm gonna steal with a work badge on?! Wtffff! Walked out and won't be back. Can I leave a NO STAR instead of 1?? read more

No longer offering military or senior discount days and it's not posted anywhere in store! Not to mention that their prices have increased. Best of luck holiday shoppers. read more

went in to get jeans and blouses for work. Prices were ridiculously high. Shirts were listed at $5.99 each, jeans @ $14 to $16 each?? Also the price tags were done in green so that you know that the prices were changed. There was one grumpy cashier on the register. There used to be a line at checkout all the way back to the office; now there was no line at all. What used to cost $20 - $25 now hit $58 even with discount tags. Not going back for sure! PROS : Very big selection of items from clothing, home decor, & accessories CONS : Messy, HORRIBLE PRICES, No fitting rooms and again HORRIBLE PRICES. You might as well go to Plato's Closet or Uptown Cheapskate for the prices they are putting read more

Texas Thrift has the best selections I've ever seen at a thrift store! The place was massive and had so many clothes to choose from. Not only that, but I felt like the clothes were a lot more unique and trendy than other places, such as Goodwill. The prices were also reasonable and on the cheaper side I'd say. I thought it was interesting that they had a vintage section, and my friend was able to find a super cool leather jacket from that section for only $15! I've also had friends find other unique and cool clothes from this location, so I think the chances of you finding something you like is pretty high here. I found two items that I liked for a total of $12. The store was well-staffed it seemed like and they were also super friendly! You can't return items here, but you can exchange them which is still nice. Very fun place to go thrifting! read more

I haven't read the reviews on this place at all. I was told by a family friend that about how "huge" this place was and how she scored dozens of items for so cheap. Being the penny saver i am, i had to check it out. While my friend bought lots of clothes for her and her children, i think the real steal are the BOOKS. i love coming here to buy children's books for my 2 and 8 year olds. you can find $10 books for $0.99 and most are in decent condition. I've bought one that came with some crayon markings on a page or two. but it doesn't bother me or the kids. i've found unused coloring books for my daughter who loves to color endlessly. the clothes here aren't half bad. my husband came with me once and scored some professional blazers and some jeans still with their original tags on them. and we only paid $10 for both items. can't go wrong with saving money and reusing clothes (: read more

Best thrift shop in SA. Huge, well organized, everything arranged by style size color. Great for seasonal clothes and goods, think Xmas and Halloween. Home goods are well organized as well. I can't begin to list how many awesome things I've gotten from here. I got a Lego set that retails for $75 for four dollars. I got a La-Z-Boy chair for $49 that I've now had for five years. I got a pair of brand new Merrell hiking shoes for $12. When my kids were younger, I got so many amazing things, a wooden kitchen that we had for about 10 years, wooden blocks worth about $100 for five dollars. I get pretty much all of my kids clothes here still. read more

I love a good deal no matter what. This location is huge but the main issue that turns me off from this location are the prices. Now before you think I am crazy complaining about thrift store prices let me explain. I have photos to prove my concerns. When I think thrift store, I think of a company that takes in FREE donations and resells items dirt cheap making a enough money to keep the lights and cover operating costs. And also make some money to fund the less fortunate and some community events. In turn products can be sold cheap to people who may be on a tight budge. Everyone wins right? The findings... I saw items in this store that I have seen in Dollar Tree brand new for $1 being sold for over $2 - I may sound knit-picky but it is the principal. Also some of the prices I saw I wouldn't pay even from a regular retail store. Maybe it's just where I am from. I came from NC where you would see some beautiful items that for sure would cost a few bucks just to find out the sticker on the bottom reads 50 cents. I am open to feedback so please give it to me because I could be missing something. The products were ok though. Another thing while I was there the lights cut off and the store went pitch black I had to use the iPhone flash light to safely move around. read more

I think this place forgot that they were a thrift store... how are you charging $20 for a sweater? That's insane, you guys know you got all of that clothing for free right . Found a shirt with a Walmart tag priced at $15.99 and the thrift tag was priced at $14.99 like this has got to be some sort of joke. Workers are very rude and always look at you like you're trying to steal. It's become very crappy and this used to be my favorite place to be at but your "thrift" prices are insane and you cannot tell me it's because of inflation when once again, you get this clothing for FREE. My sister used to work there and you literally receive tons of clothing daily! And having the kids price everything themselves?? Gross. Y'all are taking advantage of low income households. That's really embarrassing for you. And how is it that there are no fitting rooms and no exchanges or returns are allowed? You all have become very trashy read more

The store is fine the reason for this low rating is that horrible cashier woman named LEEAN. Horrible attitude horrible customer service. She got upset because she put 2 glass cups on top of each other I asked her if she had extra paper so they won't break! She said no so I asked if I can have an extra bag she rudely put it on the counter and looked away in such a rude manner and rolling her eyes that at that point might as well throw the bad at me. Her personality is DISGUSTING. I know the main reason she was acting like that is because she's upset with her own life and hopefully she can find peace to stop hating her own bitter life and starts to appreciate it. #BlessHerHeart read more

Does not have any changing rooms. If you're bigger than a size 6 and need to try things on to see how they look on you/ if they even fit, don't bother. I don't mind the slightly higher prices, especially since their stuff is nice, but it's too expensive to not even know if it will fit. No thanks read more

The pricing here in ridiculous fr like these places get their stuff for free that then charge so much it's wild I saw used jackets and sweaters going for 30-60 dollars and no hoodies was lower then 20 shirts $5+ it's ridiculous and not to mention it's small I recommend yall go to the one off military it not the best but prices ain't too bad read more

The store it's self is alright it is very big! I have found some very cool items. Some items are over priced for being used but others are understandable just like anywhere. I've been coming here for about 4 years now. It is a bit messy but it's a thrift store so I don't find it to be a big deal. Sometimes employees can be rude but I'd imagine if they hired more people and paid them decent moods would change a bit. At the end of the day you don't know what the other person is going through... But to stay on topic! I'd definitely recommend checking it out I actually donate my items here as well read more

Not sure where they get off selling clothes for 15-20 dollars when they get their product donated to them for free. So a friend of mine and I recently got into a little side venture that requires us to scour through thrift stores and what have you for certain items. Unfortunately, they don't have a dedicated area to what we were looking for but we were still more than happy to sift through all the stuff. Yours truly, however, is almost always easily distracted and I'd come across something from my childhood that would get me thinking and throw me off track. I noticed that they had a lot of sales going on too. The day I went they were advertising for 50% all electronics and furniture and they had ads up for their Friday sale which was 50% off everything. So. I am very upset with my experience here at Texas Thrift Store on Ingram/410. I came to shop, when I first walked in I asked if they had dressing rooms. I was assured by an associate that they did. I was even told where it was in the store. I did my shopping and had a very large assortment of clothing. When I approached the dressing rooms there was tape across them, they were closed due to Covid. The associate NEVER mentioned that to me when I had asked about them. So I was unable to try anything on. Ok. So I go to the first cashier I see and was told right away that she wasn't open. I explained that I only had a question and asked if they would allow returns on items that don't fit because I wasn't allowed to try them there. She said yes, they would take the returns. So I proceed to the only register that is open and wait in line. The cashier loudly stated that the gentlemen in front of me would be her last customer. Ok. So I wait for another 5 mins before asking her if they were going to open up any more registers. At this point there are 8 people with baskets ready to check out with no where to do so. We all sit and wait some more. People were getting frustrated because no lines were open and the waiting line was steadily growing. One associate hollers across the room for the second cashier to stay open and help customers. She then hollers back "We aren't supposed be get overtime!!" Mind you, there are 4 associates up front in different registers all this time. So we all sit and wait some more. When I FINALLY got to a cashier to purchase my items I asked her the same question about returns, just to make sure. She said no, their policy has always stated they didn't accept returns. I asked to speak to a manager, I wanted to know why they weren't accepting returns during this Covid pandemic seeing as how they weren't offering their dressing rooms so that customers can be sure of those purchases before checking out. It only seems fair to me that they would allow that because they decided to close down dressing rooms and not give the customer that option. If you have dressing rooms for customers to try things on before they buy then I can COMPLETELY understand the no return policy. But if you close them down the only logical thing in my eyes is that you would accept returns due to our inability to be sure that things fit before purchase. Am I so wrong for that thought? Is that such a difficult concept??? I will not be returning to this establishment. My hard earned money will be spent elsewhere. Thank you for nothing Texas Thrift Store!!! read more

Worth checking out. It's huge so I appreciate not feeling crowded. Being that it's San Antonio, I wasn't surprised to see few items in the Small size. There's a good selection of books. read more

I'm super hooked to this place. I have found great finds. Sometimes items are over priced. It's like goodwill on steroids.

Stopped in to kill time and see if I could find any gems. I didn't purchase anything but I love the variety and prices of this locations. The store is huge and you could easily spend several hours liking around. They have carved out a 'boutique' section that is nice but it also presents for higher pricing just because these are named brand. There is plenty of parking and you can also stop in Tuesday morning and Dollar General next door. read more

The ladies shirts were about $6 each. Seems expensive for second hand things. They have a junk desk in the store priced at 14999. It might be old but its trashed. The Salvation Army Store on 1604 is nice and more reasonable. read more

Ok thrift store, huge selection but seems picked over and not organized well. I ended up leaving with 3 very reasonably priced tops after about an hour of searching. Many of the items are new or lightly used, but some of the selection is very bad. It's really hit or miss. Overall I enjoyed the shopping experience! Be aware, they don't allow backpacks into the store, and require ID for card purchases! Will return in the future. read more

I've been shopping here for about 3 years and I've found a lot of cool stuff. There is usually some good clothing but the hard goods are usually dried up because the savages wait at the door for new items to roll out and they attack the new carts. Half off days make for decent prices but if you dislike the Black Friday vibe then stay away. Overall its still a pretty good option even though the prices are a bit higher. I guess a few complaints i would say i have is selling untested or broken items at premium price but no returns so basically they are selling a broken Xbox for 40 bucks thats not right. Also some items just need to be thrown in the garbage I've seen several jeans at this location with the entire butt ripped out and shirts with massive stains shoes with the entire sole falling off. Clothes that even homeless people would pass on i mean just toss it or recycle it. read more

I shopped there frequently but as time has passed, I started noticing the poor conditions the staff was in. Not only was the ac down A LOT, the customers were horrible. I heard customers call staff mean bullying names, tell them that it's their job to clean up after them and their job to remove hangars. Even over heard supervisor yell at staff member. No wonder workers don't last here. I'm sure they barely get paid enough but to also have to deal with rude customers like that. Corporate needs to take care of their employees and need to protect them from the customers that shop there. read more

Never coming here again... Dealt with a RACIST worker. The lady was very rude to me and she always is every single time I've been in here. I've tolerated and ignored this woman everytime I've came into this store for a year and I've had it. I will not be belittled and bullied for who I am. So I stood up for myself. I work in retail and I never ever treat customers like she does. She is an Old Mexican lady she's short with curly hair she was working at the register around 3:15pm on September 1st 2021 at the display cases. She is the reason I will never ever come back here. Y'all lost at least a $20 transaction because of her. My shirt had a tag on it and she ripped it off and said there wasn't a tag and wouldn't sell it. And my mom witnessed the tag on it because she thought it was overpriced. That shirt meant a lot to me because I can't get another one. That shirt was from my Highschool that I went to and I can't get another one like that. She's always very racist every single time. I don't go into stores where they tolerate racism. Don't come here if you want to be treated like crap. read more

The store is huge which is good. However, there were clothes all over the floor and on top of the racks so clearly the upkeep of the establishment isn't too important to it's employees. The employees have probably the worst customer service skills i've ever experienced. The cashier Michael, has tattoos, did not greet me and my friend when we came to the register, the majority of the transaction was silent other than when he gave us our change and our receipt and said "Here's your change and receipt." in just about the most monotone voice possible. read more

bruh this store is flag on the play tripping with prices. extremely absurd and ridiculous taxing. council, what happened to this being a "thrift store"? they already get clothes as donations and do well, so why tax so much. the problem is referring to the "vintage rack" when half the time it is not true vintage and when there is, it's like a resell store for 25-30 dollars. this is no longer about the community the store brings in, with that being said owners of the company are trying to squeeze every penny out of our poor pockets. wait till the president receives my letter to them about this. you have lost so many transactions from my business and our people so we bid you ado and wish y'all the best of unfortunate luck. thank you but no thank you. we'll be taking our business elsewhere like every karen says. read more

Wow. Never shopping at Ross, Walmart, or any other children's resale shop again...! There is lots to see, so I recommend going in with a game plan. Figure out what your looking for and go for it. If your a PHAT girl like me, your in luck. This place a decent size plus size selection. The changing rooms are small and a bit claustrophobic with no air, that's they're only downfall. Best time to go is on a Monday because the colored tags are I believe 99 cents. If your a senior citizen, your sale is on Tuesday. read more

I absolutely love thrift stores. I prefer to buy gently used furniture instead of paying 1,300$ for a sofa. What I do NOT like, however, is going to a "thrift" store that had a set of brown leather couches from Big Lots priced at 2,000$. No joke, y'all. 2,000$ buckaroos. These couches sold for 399$ at Big Lots. I checked. On another occasion, they were selling an older model flat screen television. (The boxy kind) for 2,000$ with a large sign on front that said "bulb needs replaced". Whomever is pricing these items needs to be let go....pronto. I admit that they have a lot of items, the majority being clothing and I love to spend hours perusing the aisles but if I wanted to pay retail, I'd go to Target. I also don't appreciate the rude salespeople and the fact that I wait in line for 15-20 minutes each time I come here. Sorry, Texas Thrift, we're over. I'll stick to Goodwill, Boysville and Thrift Town for my thrifty items. read more

Favorite thrift shop in San Antonio. First off, just due to the sheer size of the store you are likely to find SOMETHING that you like. I used to live around the corner and would drop in when I was bored or had time to kill. You never know what you'll find here. It's like a real life treasure hunt. I found some Michael Kors heels, a Christian Dior handbag, and loads of designer jeans. This is also the perfect place to come for Halloween. I found all the stuff I needed for my Daenrys Targaeryn Halloween costume for under 15$! It might be worth mentioning that this isn't a fancy thrift shop. The fitting rooms are dirty, most of the employees could care less about helping you, and you need to probably take an antihistamine before walking in....but that's just the way it goes with thrift shops. Oh well. read more
