Extremely disappointed in our experience with Texas Shutter Company. We had 10 solar-powered roller blinds installed, but the process was riddled with issues. First, 2 of our blinds was damaged during installation. Then we waited months for replacement parts, and once they finally arrived, the blinds were installed incorrectly--and the company stopped communicating with us altogether. We ended up having to call the blind manufacturer directly for help fixing and programming them. Even now, the solar panels have fallen off the windows. Shockingly, they were only held on with double-sided tape, rather than the proper metal brackets the manufacturer said should've been used from the start. These were expensive blinds. We expected professionalism and proper support. Instead, we received poor workmanship, long delays, and no customer care. We cannot recommend this company. read more

Final Update 3/2 Mark called to schedule install the last shutter. I am happy to say that my concerns were addressed and I have been notified throughout the process and the shutters are in good quality. 3/1 I got a call from Mark letting me know one of the shutters was not installed and they plan on installing the last one no later than 3/6. 2/28 I am happy to get a friendly reminder of the scheduled time slot for the installation and notice of the delay with it having to be moved to a later time. Unfortunately, the measurements were still inaccurate and was unable to install the blinds. Everything has been completed except for one window in the house. This has to be taken back to the warehouse again for the 3rd time. I will again have to wait without any mention how long it will be to make the corrections and to wait for when they are ready for it to be installed. 2/27 Josh called me this time (the other co-owner) to scheduled the installation for tomorrow (2/28) between the times of 1:30-3:30. read more

This will be my third time to use Texas Shutter Company. They last did a job for me 4-5 years ago. I now have another home that is in need of shutters so I called them again. Michael Canales came out to take measurements and show samples in choosing plantation shutters. He was very kind and professional. My dog and cat liked him immediately - the cat wanted to help him hold his tape measure and the dog was happy to supervise (follow him around). Michael had great suggestions and patience in helping me to decide on shutter style and color. Now I am looking forward to installation in 5 weeks! read more

Absolutely awful experience. I never give one star reviews to anyone but this deserved it. Michael was a great salesman and we went with this company even though their quote was higher than others. After we finalized and paid for our shades, they told us that they had mis-measured and the type of shade we wanted wasn't available for our window size. After that, we had to change almost everything we ordered. This delayed delivery of the shades considerably. Then, they didn't block off a time for our shades to be installed, but we insisted that they install them since we had been living with paper shades for 3 weeks in a new house. They finally installed the shades today and the shades they recommended are not suitable for our bedroom - almost completely see through. Truly a nightmare experience and handled extremely poorly by the team given all of the problems and issues we faced. read more

Great service! Had a bit of a misunderstanding on installation date for my wooden blinds and vertical blinds, but the owner immediately got involved and solved the problem, having my order delivered that day. When the Hunter Douglas vertical blinds were not perfect, they immediately ordered another, leaving the newly installed ones at my home until the new ones arrived so I wouldn't be without any window coverings. Nice to know a company that stands behind its products. read more

Wanted to share experience with blind/shutter company. Texas Shutter Company did not meet my expectations. Started off well with responsiveness and working with me on the price. Became difficult to work with once they got the deposit and order. Will not be flexible or communicate well. Also installed the clips on the blind valances so they are visible. Tried to communicate that we did not want clips visible and they had no clue what we wanted. I'm going to order hidden valance clips myself and fix. They had to trim 2 blinds to fit between tile portion of window opening. They didn't trim enough of the slates so the installer used scissors. Looks horrible. The rest of the blinds themselves look good outside of these issues. read more

Hired Texas Shutter Company back on 11/22/21 to install some shades. Per the proposal, we would pay 50% up front to manufacture the shades and then other 50% once shades were satisfactorily installed based on the customer. Order was placed 11/22/21. Installation of first shades was not done until end of December 2021 over one month after deposit was paid even though they said 2-3 weeks. Once installed the shades did not provide adequate coverage so we called them to tell them we weren't satisfied with the shades as installed. Two months later they finally decide to go ahead and install other ones which unfortunately were even worse as more light came through than the original ones. This was back in February 2022. Finally, today the initial sales person, Michael Canales, decided to come to my home saying they will take care of the issue so obviously thought they would offer some sort of solution but instead they came to our house to threaten to pay the remaining 50% even though the shades were never manufactured and/or installed properly. I said I would not pay until they were properly installed so they proceeded to take down the shades by force in my house. The damaged my windows and now have nothing installed and they kept my initial $600 deposit. This is borderline theft anyway you want to look at it. You can't just come into someone's home and take something from their home without their permission, especially since that item is already paid for and installed not to mention causing physical damage to that person's home (they damaged the walls of the window when they tore down the shades). I had to call the police to avoid any further confrontation. Obviously no one should have to go through any experience like similar to mine when all they want is shades installed. They are also not inexpensive so you expect quality service if you are going to pay $1,200 for four shades on small windows. It is unfortunate we had to get to this point because the owner never wanted to discuss anything with me and try to reach a resolution. Instead he decided to send his employees into a customer's house and forcefully remove the shades when he (Mark, the owner) could have just picked up the phone and try to reach a resolution with me. Very unfortunate situation and worst customer service experience I've had to experience with any business. I understand this is a small business but that does not give them a reason not to deliver on their promise to deliver a quality product on time and to satisfaction. There are many more blinds companies out there and I made the mistake of trying to go with the "cheapest" one but there is a reason why they were the most economical bid....you definitely get what you pay for! read more

Not happy at all with this company. They will tell you anything to get you to buy their product. I showed the salesperson pictures of my previous blinds and he assured me that he knew the size of the levers. I wished he would have taken the time to tell me that he was not sure as I could have verified this with a simple phone call to the new homeowner. Then it took 11 weeks to get these shutters. The contract states that it will take 6-8 weeks. I kept calling as I never received a call with reason for the delays. I kept calling as they never set up a date for delivery either. Very poor customer service on top of getting the size of shutters that I did not want. read more

We called this company on a recommendation from a friend who said they install good quality, locally made shutters at a good price. We had the rep come out in early July to give pricing options and make measurements. He asked for 50% payment upfront, which was made. A couple weeks later, we were notified that construction hadn't begun and in fact the rep had misquoted availability and made the wrong measurements. They had to come back out and make measurements for a more expensive shutter style. Still, they claimed it would take 6-8 weeks for installation. Well, 8 weeks later, my wife and I have had to call every week to see what the status is. Apparently there has been a delay in production because materials are delayed from China (locally made??). For the last few weeks, they've said they'll call the following week to schedule install. No call has ever come through -- instead, we have to call for updated which invariably bring up more excuses. So far, our experience has been poor mainly related to lack of communication and the rep's inexperience. I'll update this review once shutters are installed. read more

Wonderful people and service. Shutters were timely delivered and installed as promised. Tony and Jesus installed 25 shutters in around 6 hours and did so professionally and perfectly. The shutters are just beautiful. Raina was my sales rep and her service was outstanding. She was so helpful and made my decisions very easy. The pricing from Texas Shutter is also very reasonable.
