Service was very good but my meal was unfortunately inedible. The chicken was so incredibly salty that even a salt lover like myself could not eat it. The Applesauce I ordered as a stray from my usual and I wish I hadn't. We eat here often but the last time was not so good. The waitress brought out appetizers , salads and meal pretty much all at once, we felt so rushed we were scarfing our meal. I traveled to Idaho to visit my friend and while I was in twin falls I came here 3 times. All three times were amazing. Servers were excellent and cared about their job. The steak is cooked medium rare good flavor and cooked to appropriate temperature. Side were good no complaints at this place. I need to start this review with I sat at the bar. The bartender was so sweet that I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed her company. The bar wasn't very crowded, but the restaurant became crowded. I really wanted seafood that day. I ordered salmon dinner with house salad and baked potato. I wanted my salmon cooked medium rare. They didn't want to do that. They would only cook it medium. My sweet bartender said that they would change it for shrimp if it wasn't good. I talked to her for a bit and told her what I was doing up in Twin. My meal came out and I couldn't eat that salmon. She ordered me the shrimp. It was so much better. However, after finally being seated, the service I've experienced were always nothing short of awesome. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The inside is well-kept & clean; sometimes a little loud but that is somewhat to be expected of a big (delicious!) chain restaurant. My favorite food option is the herb crusted chicken I try to eat healthier when I can (and want) and that option is my tried-and-true go-to food! I've heard of this place, but where I live, they don't have one. Passing through Twin Falls and was really dying for a great steak after a long drive. I sat at the bar as I normally do when traveling solo and was greeted immediately by my bartender. She was kind, polite, and really a pleasure to talk to about all things Texas RoadHouse. The place was pretty packed at 5pm and parking was only a small challenge. I figured they must be good if it was this busy. Love the decor and energy of the place. There is plenty to look at while waiting for drinks and food. I sat next to a lovely couple who were also passing through. I ordered the bone-in ribeye, green beans, and rice. The steak was cooked perfectly and was well-marbled. They have the crust nailed as it was the perfect char and saltiness. Sides were great and the table bread with the cinnamon butter was very good. Room to improve. The local Texas Roadhouse still has kinks to work out as fairly recently opened. We've been to many over the years in different locations, and they consistently have good quality of meat and fresh ingredients. While it's not the 'bougie' aged beef at high end steak houses, the quality is really nice and their in-house butchers do a good job for their cuts. Bread and honey cinnamon butter are hot, golden, and delicious. The shortcomings: the protein chef is seriously under on his temperatures. The med-rare bone-in ribeye was what you would call black and blue. Honestly, it was inedible and raw in the inside. "Pittsburgh Rare." Porterhouse suffered the same fate, but slightly less raw. Kebabs at med-well were really med-rare. I suppose it's better to be under than over, but 2 under is too much of an error and raw beef is only cool with carpaccio, tartare, yukhoe or koi soi. Our appetizers never arrived. Our waitress was inattentive and absent. We'd have to waive her down for drinks, napkins, missing straws. When a separate waitress delivered our mains, we identified the missing apps and asked to cancel. 15 minutes later our waitress came by to say "I took this apps off your bill." Since we never received them...I'd think that's appropriate. An apology would've been nice, but like I said, kinks still need to be worked out. Kids Mac and Cheese seems boxed. I could be wrong, but if not, not in line with the rest of the menu. Lastly, and a little petty, but why the tiny fork? I felt like I was at a tea house with such a dainty fork. Road tripping and generally prefer small locally owned businesses. But after a 10.5 hour drive, tonight wasn't the night to search. It was the night to fuel up (the car and us) and get to sleep. Within a one to two mile area around our hotel we saw two check cashing kiosks, two McDonalds, a Sonic, Burger King, Arby's, Carl's Jr., the DQ, JimmyJohns, Jack in the Box, Chick-fil-A, Five Guys, Taco Bell, Sizzler, Baskin Robbins and innumerable pawn shops. Clearly we weren't in Swankville and locating a Texas Roadhouse was a relief. The food was adequate. No complaints about flavor or quality. The wait staff was lacking. Never were we offered additional water or bread or checked on. For a place with staff wearing I Love My Job tee shirts, it was ironic. Rarely was a smile or kind hello to be seen or heard. In this post-rampant-Covid era I know there are staffing shortages and often we see exasperated wait staff running their butts off yet still managing a smile if you treat them even half decently. At this establishment there was [apparently] sufficient staff as we noted they congregated and chatted with each other as we waited for food and while we ate. It didn't appear that one server had responsibility for wide swaths of seating. Nonetheless I've rarely seen a more downtrodden or disgruntled looking group, based on our experience last evening. There may have been more cordial wait staff in other areas of the restaurant but you couldn't prove it by us. As we departed we said, "Thank you. Good night," while passing the hostess platform. For some strange reason when I decided to review, of course my food wasn't perfect like it normally is lol well I'll be honest, my New York strip wasn't cooked very well, I get medium rare, but when it was given to me it was way raw... so I sent it back to get it cooked more. After that I was satisfied.. lol the waiters are usually always so sweet, very helpful and always checking in on you. The atmosphere is of course very loud, which or course being from Texas I actually enjoy. Always playing that good country music. :) however, I would highly recommend for you to come and have a nice dinner here just make sure to download the app and get on the waitlist especially if you arrive with kids. Pretty messed up place, seems like bad management, kitchen screwed up. A bit later they brought the meals to the table with a apology and said they would discount the meals. But because they were so screwed up the food was nearly cold.
