Texas Roadhouse is just a perfect staple for a quick healthy steak dinner without breaking the bank. I've had both the filet and NY strip, both solid choices. I usually do the salad and veggies, which is a good portion. The ranch is best! My husband enjoyed the ribs and the green beans. Overall, we love it! Cinnamon butter rolls for life.

We got onto the waitlist and was told 45-55 min. But, that time came and went and they just kept extending the wait time. We waited an additional 30 minutes beyond what they quoted. If they'd just have been honest, we could have chosen to order To Go food and been served faster (and better). The Haines's just said "yeah, we're extending that". Pretty terrible!!!

Love the vibe here! Great customer service, large portions, good tasting food, and strong drinks? What more can you ask for? Make sure to sign in via Yelp to get a nice treat :). This location also offers a deli section with multiple cuts of beef that you can select so that you can cook your own steak at home. Great place to go as a large group. This is my go to spot when I want steak and drinks. Love it!

Country Fried Chicken & Loaded Baked Potato

Had another good experience at this location. We have a VIP pass for a free appetizer with the purchase of two meals. It was a great deal and plenty of food for just the two of us. Took home almost a whole meal for leftovers. Our waitress, Lulu, was very polite and did a great job! I asked her a preference on which gravy I'd like on my chicken, and later on she checked with me to make sure I enjoyed it. Very fast service and great execution. The food was exceptional. I got the country fried chicken with a baked potato and a house salad. It was delicious! My only complaint is the way they do their payments. I did it myself on the little kiosk and typed in my gift card number and pin, and the whole time I'm thinking "this shouldn't be my job." It took me a few minutes. I believe that should remain to be the waitresses job, otherwise I'll give myself a percentage of that tip:)

I'm not a fan of chains but had to meet someone on my way past heading south off 94. The waitress was on top of everything and food came quickly. My salmon was so good, moist and flavorful and the steak fries and house salad were good too. The rolls were hot and the honey butter is addictive. Back to my chain snobbyness, it was very good. Prices for what you get. Quick and good.

This is one of my favorite places to go in town for steak. It's always so juicy and tender. I get the Dallas Filet rare and it's melt in your mouth. And who could go wrong with the fresh warm buns with the cinnamon butter. New things I tried this time was the Rattlesnake Bites and Mango Margarita (with Tajin). Rattlesnake Bites were good, cheesy and the jalapeño had a little kick to it and the mango margarita was yummy. Especially with the Tajin, I like spicy so next time I'll probably request to have it all around the rim. Updates on the covid eating- they do dine in. You check in and they will text you once a table is ready. You can wait in your car or outside. Once seated, they do space you out so you aren't sitting next to another table and they added some clear dividers. They also have a cleaning station for their condiments once a table uses it.

    Dinner begins!

Food was once again quite stellar. The wait was typically excessive but well worth the wait.

First I should say I judge a barbecue joint by its ribs. That's it. I have had barbecue all over…read morethe country and smoke a mean rib myself. These ribs were as good as any I've had around the country, and better than most. Some places brag about "fall of the bone tender." To me that is overcooked. Ribs should be "fairly easily coaxed off the bone tender. The need a little bit of chew to them or the are too dry. Smokey Jon's ribs were just right. Now the rest. The barbecue beans were very good. I put a little brisket burnt ends in when I make them. That would have improved these to top notch. I usually shy away from barbecue joint mac and cheese but I ordered it here. Hey, I'm in Wisconsin. It's got to be at least ok. It was better than just ok. It had a generous amount of cheese and the symtickiness that good Mac and cheese must have. For my taste, it had too much garlic. I'm a big garlic fan. When I see a recipe that says "one clove of garlic," I figure it's a misprint and they meant "one head of garlic." Here, they used powdered garlic, and I feel like the amount they used covered up the natural sweetness of the cheese. The ambiance of the place was spot on. I am visiting Madison, from Oregon (Go Ducks!) Driving by the place it looks like they've got to have at least passible 'cue. Inside it was classic back woods barbecue chic. "Log cabin" looking interior walls, red and white checkered plastic table cloths, and great old school blues on the sound system. Is this place perfect? No, won't get that until you pass through the Pearly Gates. But it's about as good as your going to get anywhere else, unless you come over to my back yard on 4th of July.

I've eaten a lot of BBQ in many different states. You can truly judge how good a BBQ place is by…read moretheir mac and cheese and collard greens. Unfortunately, Smokey Joe's doesn't have collard greens, but their mac and cheese is one of the best I have ever eaten. The consistency is perfect- creamy but not soupy. They use real cheese and it has perfect seasoning . The sugar biscuits were amazing as well. I got the burnt end plate and it was the perfect amount of meat and fat ratio. The meat should be tasty without BBQ sauce and Smoky Jon didn't dissapoint- the BBQ sauce was tangy with just the right amount of spice. Yet, the meat was absolutely delicious without it- the BBQ sauce complimented the meat. Also super nice people. I would definitely come here again. This is in the top 5 of my favorite BBQ resturaunts and judging by all the awards and trophys on the wall, I'm not alone in that opinion.

But in our viewing, we noticed the great happy hour and decided Liberty Station would be out early evening cocktail and appetizer spot...it was the right move! The space is good sized with several areas for seating from the bar to dining room to the patio. It is industrial smokehouse for sure, which is exactly what you want from a bbq joint. We bellied up to the bar, where the bartender was prompt, friendly and helpful. Being our first time, we asked for recommendations and without missing a beat, the brisket loaded fries with a round of old fashioned's...so that is what we went with! The drinks are well, or rail as commonly referred to around this area, and only ran us $5 - $6. They were tasty, but we could definitely tell it was a happy hour special cocktail. The fries were plentiful, definitely enough to share between us two. The brisket was tasty and the fries were crisp. And combined, the old fashioned and brisket fries was a solid duo! Overall, Liberty Station was a solid spot for some tasty food and decent drinks!

Drinks are ok, thank goodness for happy hour prices, at the bar only. The iceberg salad was very good, bacon would be great. Honestly, a solid BBQ option on the west side of Madison. I can tell I don't get out much anymore…read morewith how shocked I am by lunch prices. Not just here, but everywhere, really. I think my pulled pork sandwich, two sides (cole slaw and fries) and a drink pushed $17. That's more than I prefer to spend on lunch, but I was going out with some work friends and felt like treating myself. And it was, indeed, a treat! The pulled pork was very good - not overly fatty or anything. Good flavor. I tried the "original" and "sweet city" sauces - both were very good and not overpowering. The fries were good - a little greasy (but "good greasy" if there is such a thing). The creamy cole slaw confused me. It was a bit dry. I know, right? How is creamy cole slaw dry? I'm not sure if it's always like this, or maybe it was off the top of the batch and the "creamy" and dripped to lower parts. Don't get me wrong - it tasted good. We'll see how it is next time I'm there! Overall, a good BBQ stop. The pulled pork sandwich will be a standard order there, but I'm sure I'll venture out to some other dishes to see what they have to offer!

We ordered the city sampler along with a half slab of ribs, since their ribs are $1.99 on Tuesdays. The two sides that I chose were the cornbread and potato salad. As for the quality of the bbq, the brisket was not as tender as I would have expected it to be. The ribs could have also been more tender, but the flavor was good! I have only tried bbq one other time, which was in Houston, TX, so I think I had some high expectations. Everything else was pretty good though, with the pulled pork being my favorite meat. I enjoyed the potato salad as well. The staff was also friendly and helpful. They have various bbq sauces, plates, utensils, and other condiments available on the side, which is nice. For a bbq spot in Madison, it's decent. The price is also pretty affordable, which was a huge plus! I would come back if I'm ever craving bbq again.
