So I signed up for the Digital Filmmaking class and boy was I wrong about never needing to take a class. I learned so much from this course. The film I produced from concept to completion for the class (Lessons in Life #3) has now received it's 7th Official Selection to a film festival and it continues to gain success. By going to film festivals with my little film, I've made networking connections and have now hired to direct and produce 2 more short films through these connections----all because of this wonderful class I almost didn't take at the Austin School of Film. The class will teach you everything you need to take your story and put it to film, and be successful with it. Don't get me wrong, after you finish the class, it takes a lot of work to market your film and get it seen, but with the help of everything I learned in this class, I had a wonderful little gem of a film that I'm so happy with and never would have had for it not with the help of the Austin School of Film. Second the student support is an absolute joke, if you email it takes 3-5 days to answer, if you call them out for wrong doing on their part they won't answer the email at all, funny enough two of my class mates needed to pay for a course extension and they got a response the same day... so when it comes to money they will answer but when it comes to support they don't answer. Lastly their in person classrooms are the worst I've ever been to, they give you a skills sheet but don't have 80% of the equipment on the skills sheet. I feel like by going to RChealth for my EMT I was robbed of a good education. I have many more horror stories with RChealth but it won't fit in the review. I will end this with some advise, DO NOT attend RChealth if you want to be prepared for a career in EMS or fire.

He was a member for several years. Then, all of a sudden, they stopped responding to us. We had a problem with choosing classes and heard NOTHING. We had a problem with a link not working and heard NOTHING. Finally, after months of frustration, we tried to cash in our badges (earned over YEARS) and heard NOTHING. I wrote over and over and over and finally got our account canceled, but we are still waiting to have our badges--which my son had been saving up--cashed in. I cannot tell you how frustrated I am with the amount of texts, phone calls, and messages that I have sent and heard nothing. People thinking of classes--AVOID CODE GALAXY. They have been terrible in the last two years.

I just completed an Excel 2007 Level 2 course at New Horizons. My employer does all computer…read moretraining with New Horizons so I was not exactly shopping around with training. The account manager working with my company was very friendly, even when I had to change my course date twice. I took what they call an Online Live course where the instructor was actually in New York and myself and the other students were at computer workstation at various New Horizons locations. I honestly wasn't thrilled with this setup because I had imagined being in a classroom with other students and an instructor that was physically there. The workstations had two monitors, one to display the instructors screen and one for my own Excel practice. Students can virtually raise their hand and type questions to the instructor, which many of us did. I actually ended up enjoying this setup because I was able to focus without a room full of people but also sneak a peek at my work email a few times. The instructor was terrific and tried to relate the course to how we could use these new skills in our jobs. I was fully prepared for 8 hours of boredom but now I want to take Level 3 in the future. My one complaint is that the headphones provided are uncomfortable. My ears hurt and I had a terrible headache by the lunch break. After lunch I figured out a way to put them on my face right in front of my ears with the volume turned to max and be able to hear without pain (and luckily no one was in the room to see this.) Bring your own headphones! Also, the classes have a course book but they didn't have a paper one to give me like they normally do. I got an access code for the online book but I'd rather have a paper copy for easy reference. In the course evaluation I asked to get one. If I get this I'll be thrilled and probably increase this to 5 stars!
