His PA, Mary is reliable, knowledgeable, and absolutely wonderful to work with. They are all passionate people who truly love working with Dr. Khan and are inspired by their patients. A routine physical (for my mom) led to a hematologist and those results led to Dr. Khan. The diagnosis was Polycythemia Vera (PV). Polycythemia is a blood cancer that causes your bone marrow to make too many red blood cells. This was a rare disease 20 years ago but Dr. Khan was able to figure it out and start her on oral chemotherapy. Today, PV is well known, with more information and treatments. I've been a part of her journey from the beginning. Twenty years of weekly INR appointments, routine bone marrow biopsies, numerous scans and imaging to name a few. The pandemic has been a tricky situation for us, and her cancer, but appointments with Dr. Khan's office has been safe. They have updated their protocols so that everyone involved can stay safe. At the moment I cannot go in with her, everyone is asked to stay in their car if they are not a patient. I understand. If you are new, they are offering online appointments to get started. No matter what form of cancer you may have, they will simply assign you to one of their local oncologists who happens to have a little free time. It's hard to believe anyone could be so callous. When I first read comments like this, I could hardly believe what I was seeing. I understand now though. I learned the hard way. Don't you do the same. Had I stayed with them, I would probably be on death's door this very moment. Last year, I was a primary candidate for chemotherapy. But the oncologist they assigned me to had little to no training in prostate cancer. After finally learning the truth, I ran from Texas Oncology. My new team was none too pleased with how I had been treated. They started me on chemotherapy immediately. Time will tell how well I'll do, but starting critical treatment late gave my cancer lots of extra time to grow and spread. As I already mentioned, it doesn't matter what form of cancer you have. Colon cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer - you name it. All Texas Oncology really cares about is being able to bill you and your insurance company to pad their bottom line. You have a terminal disease, so they know their time is limited. "Pump that well until it runs dry." You definitely don't want to be their latest well.

Worst experience ever…read more I visited Texas oncology on June 2024 due to low ferritin , before visiting the doctor Nithya Palanisamy I checked by call and at doctors office if my visit was covered by insurance. They directed me to billing department where they promised me it was covered however they will receive authorization in few days. I visited the doctor and she hardly spent 2 minutes on me and informed me I should do iron infusion and left quickly, I asked few questions but she din't bother to answer them and the whole visit is just namesake and they made me do blood work again as it was past two months from my old blood work , again I was communicated this was covered by insurance. After few weeks I was not sent any bill for doctors office and I assumed it was covered and I got call that my insurance has authorised my iron infusion. During scheduling my iron infusion I asked about charges and they directed my tpo billing and they promised me it was covered, later afetr my first infusion I was sent a full bill amounbt and nothing covered. I'm sure all the people don't have knowledge on the copay and coverage, they just decide the visit based on your words. I was scheduled few more infusions in July 2024 but I dint return back due to my huge bill $737 for one docto's visit and one infusion.Now I'm still iron deficient and feeling low tired and the one doctors visit and one iron infusion dint even help me.If I had been communicated of these chatrges as they told me minimum if 5 to 10 visits I would have opted for other alternatives than paying a huge bill and still feeling deficient. The whole billing department of texas oncology is corrupt and they keep directeing my calls to different people and nobody fixed the issue of proper communication. I'm also upset of Nithya palanisamy as she din't even respond to my question of alternate to iron insufion if my insurance doesn't cover after charging $300 for the visit that day.They asked me to schedule another visit to discuss another option of prescribing pills, how do you think will people viisit you for 2 mins when you don't even cover options in one visit.I'm not comfortable in paying my bill for miscommunication on my visit and expect to contact further higher levels for help on this matter, They have already sent me a not of sending myt bill to collection agency.Please request you to give right information to patients and not mislead them.I had already communicate the whole issue with the billing superviser, but no response and I'm totally frustrated.

They don't listen and only care about selling you the product that's paying them to put posters up. I've never gotten great help from a dermatologist until now. I didn't want to go, but I had exhausted all my options and my acne was just getting worse. PA Bruno had been recommended by multiple people and now I know why! He actually looked at my face, listened to my story, and talked me through what was going on and what we could do to fix it. You can tell he cares about his patients and wants to help. I just went back the other day for my 6 week follow up and Bruno remembered me and help tweak my plan to get things moving along. I ended up with lots of stitches. During my follow-up the doctor said he had "good news, and great news". The "good news" is the second sample from their lab showed he got all the cancer. The "great news" was their in-house lab made a mistake on the first sample so I never had skin cancer in the first place! So I go through pain, can't sleep on my back for 3 weeks, and now a lovely scar on my back. All for nothing. "Great news". I will NEVER return. My new dermatologist said I should have asked them to compensate me for my out of pocket expenses. And they never said "sorry". If you go there, get a second opinion. My opinion, don't even go there.

She barely asked what I was there for and never took any vitals. Then once Cefalu came in I had to hear about how I really haven't experienced any real uti's over the past 2-3 years. In other words, my symptoms are all in my head. Or I must be stressed. (Heck yeah I am stressed from having multi utis the last few years) He told me my sample came back fine and my kidneys look beautiful from previous ER visit ct scans. Again, I must be imagining all my symptoms. He had no interest to look deeper into my problems. I kindly told him that I appreciate him telling me everything is in my head and I will be getting a second opinion. Look elsewhere if you are looking for a doctor that listens to you.
