The nurse practitioner that I saw obviously knew what he was talking about because the moment I got home with recommended meds I started feeling so much better. The building seemed very clean and the tv wasn't too loud at all lol. Also, setting up an appt took literally 5 seconds online, made my appt on June 1, 2023 at 5:30pm to be seen at 6:15pm that night and was seen earlier if not exactly on time. I know the standards that veterans provide and they exceeded standards of any other medical establishment that I have been to in a very long time. The office and rooms are always clean and the staff puts you at ease, plus they are fast. No extra wait or me having to ask too many questions, as they are so intuitive. Yesterday, I went in for an infected finger and Justin Baker examined and explained what was going on and what needed to be done. He patched up my finger, provided my discharge instructions, and I was in and out in no time. I actually prefer to come here vs. gong to my PCM for urgent treatment. I was speaking with a woman about my copay and explaining that I have only ever paid $35 during previous visits. While I was discussing this with her, a male staff member abruptly interrupted our conversation and insisted that the $50 copay was correct. I found his approach to be extremely rude and unprofessional. As someone who is new to the area, I was simply trying to understand the difference in my copay. I would have appreciated a little more patience, courtesy, and understanding rather than being spoken to in a condescending manner. I understand that policies and copay amounts may vary, but I believe patients should be treated with respect and compassion, especially when they are not feeling well. Unfortunately, this interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and discouraged from receiving care at your facility.

Finally a doctor came in spoke to me about 2 minutes, never touch me, did not ask hardly any questions to our surprise the the next RN came in about 15 minutes later with my discharge papaers!!! We asked are they not going to do the CT SCAN? He replied oh they have not dont that.... idiot. They rolled me down to cat scan, where I knew the tech from another trip, she was fabulous. The doctor came in and said they would be keeping me due to mass infection in my kidneys, really! Stayed 2 days staff there was great Felesa and Kerne wonderful and on top of thing. They tried taking me to the ICU but held off, my BP was 67/45. It moved around all day. So home with a stint for 2 weeks to drain infection then for the kidney stones. Moral of this story: DO NOT GO TO GVMC ER unless you ONLY have only a broken toe nail.

It is redundant... asks you if your visit is an accident and even if the answer is no you have to answer no again. You sign in on an old touch screen check in iPad which doesn't even recognize you've touch it. The other one was not in service. Once you sign in you get an email, then you get a text for your code to start doing the paperwork. It was 12pages long. The front desk woman tried to help me but she entered 2 answers yes and no as the answer for an injury and it took me back to the previous page where I had to reenter medical history, meds. It is not voice activated for meds . They should have a a PC that patients can use. I have never paid a copay but charged $20, and my insurance has not changed . I had a 103.5 fever prior to coming to the clinic, but took 600mg Motrin and Mucinex. So I was feeling miserable. If this is the new check In process IT should be forced to go into Texas Med with their mobile phone and fill this out. NOT mobile phone friendly. No sense of triage I'm coughing using tons of Kleenex and they don't try to separate me from people waiting. I would say call before you go, check out the website and enter all your information on your PC. This could have been completing in less than 10 minutes but took 40!With crappy internet. I haven't even seen a medical provider and I'm so disgusted with Texas medclinic lack of making patient lives easier. Texas med do routine checks on your broken dated check in iPads and have them in working order. Have a screen - seating area where pts Who have fever can be separated from others. Simple ....infection control. Lots of dirty discarded Kleenex on the floor, toilet paper on the FF look in the bathroom. A hand dryer no paper towels. Understandable but people don't wash their hands and next person who does has fecal material or urine on their hands, no hand sanitizer available I told the MA about the littered waiting room and she did not take any action to clean it . Really disappointed!!! This is a clinic ! Train your employees to have pride that they are responsible for cleanliness of clinic , this is simple medical understanding!!! I've been an RN for 38 years and I would be embarrassed about this condition of my clinic.if you don't have a housekeeper during the day, Give the staff a darn broom dustpans and gloves!!! TexasMed your manager is responsible for this dirty mess-- time for a PIP or demotion. Your regional manager has been negligent, it starts from the top.
