We went to Texas Huddle after the long awaited reopening having missed the great vibe, great service and amazing food and I was very disappointed. It began when we were asked if we wanted a table or a booth and we replied a booth. We were then asked if we'd take a table and said yes but would prefer a booth. Of course we were taken to a table. Why ask if you weren't going to seat us at a booth when there were lots open? The menu is much smaller than before which wouldn't have been a problem if the food we did get was good. OK....... so.... this is going to take some explaining. We were totally blindsided by not being able to find a restaurant to get a seat at in Southwest Houston on a Friday night (Friday, 1/28/2022). We began our search, having done 3 peoples worth of about an hour of research with several options around 5:30pm... After almost 2 hours of running into 45 minute waits, frustrated, hungry, and growing weary, we stopped here. They were slammed like everyone else, but the hostess was very warm and friendly and offered several options could potentially comfort us for the time being and put us on the wait list. She offered a 3 stool high top at the bar to have a drink while we waited and we were more than elated to just take that as our destination so that's where we sat and took our name off the list. Dad had stood at the bar and ordered drinks and brought them to the table, so they didn't really realize we were there and it was a while and we hadn't had anyone come by. Being hungry, mom stopped a random girl and asked if she knew who was serving there. I don't think she was a manager or anything, I think she was just serving another area, but she stopped and asked us what we would like and asked questions and said she would get it ordered. Pretty soon a bar tender came by and apologized for the wait and said that our pizza was in and repeated to us our exact order.... ok... impressed. Then the 2nd bartender came by a bit later and told us that our pizza (order repeated exactly) should be coming soon. We thought... uh oh... are we going to get 3 pizzas? Nope. It came out perfect from yet another team member we hadn't seen yet. After that, the bar tenders were very attentive and we had drinks when needed. They were hustling, it was super busy. As it calmed down, we complimented one of the bartenders on the service and communication of their team. He said that he was glad they got caught off guard with the team he was with because they'd been able to keep up. This team is literally the gold standard of restaurant management and service. We probably interacted with at least 10 employees that night. We may have gotten messages 3 or 4 times about the same thing, but we got the EXACT SAME message from every single team member. Using tickets, having exact and understood roles, communication, consistency, and teamwork... Gordon Ramsay, Robert Irvine, and John Taffer should do a show about these policies, practices, procedures, training, and not only that, everyone who we interacted with seemed to be enjoying their job. I've seen plenty of places come and go in this spot, but so far Texas Huddle is the best by a long shot. I've had their pizza, burgers, and various appetizers and it's all been amazing! Their draft beer prices are also great for the amount you get. The restaurant itself has a definite sports bar & grill vibe, but they pull it off well. It's very roomy and a bit more upscale looking than other sports themed restaurants in the area. Went to happy hour with my coworkers this week. We couldn't decide what we wanted to try so we decided to order a bunch of appetizers and then just sharing. What a great place! Our group had bone-in wings and boneless wings. Tried five different sauces and liked them all. The two favorites were honey garlic and gojuchang. We also brought our three year old, and she loved her Texas shaped waffle. One of the owners stopped by our table and was incredibly nice. We will absolutely be back to try more from their huge menu. I leave really good tips but even that doesn't make her happy. A smile and showing respect and appreciation for your patrons goes a long way. We went tonight for the Texans playoff game. There was a slight hiccup at the beginning with seating arrangements but Denise made sure to make it right! Wow!! Very impressed by how many screens to watch so many different games! The food was wonderful, my daughter who absolutely loves wings, said that these are the best she has tasted by far! In true Texas fashion, there are voluptuous televisions and tables all throughout the establishment, so if you've got a big crowd for game day, this is a perfect spot. It was our 3rd or 4th time but today's visit was a complete disappointment. All 3 waitresses provide good service but we waited for 2 hours to have our food delivered to our table. He gave us excuses why we didn't get our order before the other customers who came after us. The management should anticipated that both Texas NFL teams are playing today, they should make sure that their ingredients inventory is enough and those staff who didn't show up is covered. Later on we find out that they run out of queso that delayed our order. We were about to leave so one of us try to give him a fist-bump but he simply look at the fist and have this smirk on his face and didn't fist-bump.
