I am writing a review about this location because I've dealt with nothing but blatant incompetence…read morefrom the VP on down to the admin staff. If I could give a negative star,, I would. I purchased a property on 5/20/24 and paid cash for it. Yes, I am typing 2024. From the start, there was a failure to schedule a survey which delayed the closing and forced me to incur extra expense to live in a hotel. The escrow officer gave me the total amount that was needed so I could arrange a wire. I had to request the info several times. Since I started to see errors and lack of knowledge, etc., I opted to get a cashiers check over wiring. Then, at closing, she had a completely different number than what she gave me. She had to correct her paperwork. She failed to correct the taxes, so I ended up being refunded twice for overpayment of taxes. This means she recalculated incorrectly three times. Then the cherry on top is that there is a trailer on the property, and the paperwork to have the title transferred to me was not completed properly. Here it is a year later, and the trailer is still not in my name. My goal was to sell it to build a new home, but I can't even file for homestead exemption. Once again, Chicago Title is costing me more money. It has failed to do the job it was contracted to do. The job it was paid to do. My realtor and I contacted the VP for this location, and he assigned a team member to help me, but she failed. She soon terminated employment just like the original escrow officer. So we were on the third escrow officer who came up with the most illogical option to try to resolve, but it failed. The VP failed to do his job. He did not oversee the issue and monitor it to completion. He turned me over to their claims department. I see why the office is incompetent...it is lacking leadership. I've been dealing with Chicago Title again since February 2025, trying to get the title updated. I learned it was not when I started the application process for homestead tax exemption. It is now May 2025 and we have no progress. This alone is evident of the incompetence, the failure of management and executive leadership oversight.
