I found BookMender back in November and sent a video of what was happening and asked if it was possible to replace with authentic leather. Sabina advised that leather colors in stock were standard. I really wanted purple, but just having my Bible salvageable was the priority. Well, Sabina is SO GOOD at what she does and keeps a very full schedule with her expert work, and I asked to be put on her list for my bible to be rescued. We coordinated schedules in February as my turn was approaching, and she surprised me by telling me she could ORDER purple for me! She gave me several options to choose from, and I was able to hand my bible over to her care on 3/2. She set more than reasonable expectations (3 weeks) about the timeline of my special order leather to be delivered and time to completion of recovering my bible. On 3/11, she let me know when my leather arrived and asked me to confirm that it was what I was hoping for. on 3/19 that my bible was ready to be picked up (a few days early)! I picked it up from her on 3/20, and her work took my breath away. I was literally jumping up and down like a little kid. It was so much better than I envisioned. She explained the process and even salvaged a couple of leather pieces to be able to use as a bookmark. The attention to detail and CARE that she pours into her work is not something that can be fully captured. She's a magician. Her craft is so valuable and a true art. I'd have gladly waited 6 months to have the finished product I received from her. She shared some of the details of the process with me and it was so fascinating and so much detail goes into restoration. I added before/after pics, and it's a total makeover! They completed it in under 20 minutes for less than $20, with zero attitude and zero drama. The staff there were genuinely puzzled as to why anyone would refuse such a simple request. Minuteman Press apparently has the luxury of turning away easy money and treating potential customers like inconveniences. If you value basic competence, transparency, and being treated with respect, take your business elsewhere. Kinko's will actually do the job.

She sketched out an example and CND took the drawing and created something to start with. We went back and forth many times on the design and I just didn't feel like it was right. I texted a friend who is a gifted designer and he quickly sent back a hand drawn modification of the design to consider and it was perfect. PERFECT! I forwarded the sketch to CND and they created the sign exactly as it was drawn. I expected this sign to be the centerpiece of our new lobby and once it was installed and turned on... IT IS! People love it and it and we couldn't be any happier. I'm overwhelmed by the level of craftsmanship. This is our second sign to have built by CND, certainly won't be the last either.
