Would not honor the one year warranty when I brought my truck back 10 months after the repairs with the same issue happening again. Claimed they replaced "something else" and that the issue I am still having is not what they repaired before. They also did made a very minimal attempt to find the leak in my A/C system and told me the leak was fixed. Only to have the Freon leak out within 24 hours. Then they told me I needed to replace my compressor and would have to charge be again for all the Freon the they shouldn't have put in to begin with. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

This Shop performed the repair requested on time. But, they replaced one part and charged $224. The Toyota dealership in Grapevine charges $87.59 for the same part (retail price). Their location was convenient for us but I don't know if we'd use again based on their overcharging for parts. read more

They wanted to charge me $800 to replace my ac hose from the compressor to the condenser and Freon refill. About $300 of it was for labor. I took my car here because it was close to my house and had good google reviews. I called my regular mechanic, who is not a convenient drive, and he said he would charge me $280 for the parts and labor. Big mistake coming here first. They charged me $150 just to look at. read more

*Full Disclosure* I am friends with the owner, and I went to college with his wife * I have had my drivers license since 1991, 17 years, and over the past 17 years I have had a horrible habit of trading in my cars on something new because I was scared of not having a warranty. One 1989 Cutlass Supreme and Four Saturns (1993 SC2, 1996 SL2, 2000 SL2 and 2003 VUE) later. I am for the first time in my life paying off a car (hurry up June 20th) with no plans for trading it in when the warranty runs out in 6500 miles. I have every other Friday off, and since this repair shop is an hour trek from my home, I waited until my first Friday off in May to drive my car over to Texas Auto Service. My goal was to find out everything that was wrong with my car and what needed to be done to keep it moving for a few more years. Clinton and his team gave my car the full body treatment. Unfortunately, they came back with about $2000 worth of work that needs to be done. But, what they did do was tell me the priority and my time frames for each repair. They also told me what I should be able to get done before my warranty runs out, and how to get them to do another repair "while they are doing the warranty work." I had taken my car to the Saturn dealership in Waco just 4 months ago and they told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car. Thanks to Texas Auto Service for giving me a heads up that I needed to replace the timing belt, water pump and tensioners before I hit 100,000 miles. They were honest with me, if the timing belt happens to break while I am driving... it will ruin the engine and I would end up having to buy a new car. Saturn would have just let me wait until I was stranded on the freeway one day and then say... well you can buy a new car... with a worthless vehicle with no trade-in value. I was told I needed to have my brakes fixed as soon as possible, that I was almost down to the squeelers. I returned 14 days later and they had my brakes fixed in under two hours. They were dead on about my time frame for my brakes as they just started squeeling two days before I had them fixed. Now I know that I have to start saving money to have the warranty work, leaky valve gasket covers (and the spark plugs while they are at it) done at Saturn by July and to have the timing belt, etc. done before the odometer does the big flip. I can't explain how having a mechanic that I can trust is helping me thru my first walk thru the trecherous terrain of having a car without a warranty. read more

I had to tow my car in so it could be diagnosed. I had recently replaced the fuel pump and the camshaft position sensors. So, when it died this time I was influenced by my previous issues and thought that it was more of the same. Never did I think that the gas gauge was not working properly and that car just ran out of gas. This is my daughter's vehicle. I received a call and was told that indeed my gas gauge was faulty and that the fuel pump was burned out. The estimate to repair would be $1400! I explained that I just could not afford it and that I would have to find an alternative. I picked up the car and towed it to my house. It sat out front until I received the replacement fuel pump and sending unit; 3 days. When I received the parts my first step was to buy 5 gallons of gas and add it to the tank of the car. I decided to try and start the car before replacing the parts and guess what? The car started without issue. The only problem was running out of gas. Well there were actually two other problems: my daughter is 18 and has complete faith in gas gauge. I overlooked the fuel level because of bias of previous issues. So, I don't mind having to pay someone to tell me that the only problem was an empty gas tank. But I have a major problem when a mechanic tries to sell me something that is not needed. I was told that the fuel pump was burned out because it "sucked air." I seriously doubt that these mechanics tested my fuel pump. But they did test whether or not I would be a sucker and say yes to the $1400 repair. How can I ever trust you again with any repair? Well I can't and I will not return. read more

They diagnosed the problem quickly, gave me a more than fair price, and got me fixed in a few hours. Everyone here is friendly, and overall this was a excellent experience. Hi folks! I took my Mustang in for service in 2014 for a complete overhaul of my A/C service to find leaks. I asked for dye to be put in to help diagnose any issue and to be updated on the needs and would not be satisfied with a shop just "recharging the A/C system" and saying it was good to go. The leaks were diagnosed as coming from a few small shraeder valves on the system and were repaired and the system recharged at a hefty cost of almost 900 dollars and I was sent on my way. The leaks remained, and I was again left with hot air coming out of my HVAC and with a wallet 900 dollars lighter. When working to take the car back in for service, I was discouraged by the poor diagnosis and being told that it did not have dye put in it which would make the second service more costly. I declined to go back immediately but decided to give the business another shot this year. Again, dye was one of the last things to try during diagnosis and of course the dye showed heavy leaking at the compressor housing. The estimate for repairs was again about 900 dollars all said and done. I ended up getting a second opinion with another shop and got the work completed for under 350 dollars, parts and labor. In addition, the diagnosis fee for this shop is abnormally high. *Edit* Jason K of the business decided he would finally weigh in. My apologies on the dates being wrong, but the above has been corrected to address the issue. However, Jason is not being truthful about the use of dye because I had the car inspected by another shop and no dye was found in the system , which is why I pressed the service manager Mike to do it. I like how Jason does nothing to acknowledge the fact the diagnosis was poor, overcosted, and you didnt fix the problem in the first place. Why do you think the car was low on freon, Jason? Do you think goblin's took it? Of course there was a major leak. Poor customer service, and even worse response from the business. They have contracted out post-service follow ups with another vendor who was suprised to hear that Texas Auto Service had failed to contact me about my unsatisfactory service. They have done work ranging for normal service on my 2010 Ford flex, repair work on my mother in laws van to a complete custom engine install in my 1989 4 runner. I had just bought a Honda 2005 CR-V and while I was driving it around, noticed that when I made a turn, I could hear liquid sloshing around in my car, and the AC was acting a bit off. I took it in and Texas Auto Service immediately fixed the problem and told me how they fixed it in terms someone who knows nothing (except the basics) about cars could understand. If you want good service at a fair price , don't take your car to this establishment . I dropped the car off and the guy called me later with a quote of $999 for a tune up and two minor repairs on our 6 year old GM car . I thought it was a bit high , but figured I should trust him because the labor or the parts must justify the cost . The car was at the shop for a total of 3 hours and 10 minutes and my wife picked the car up . Later , I arrived home to review the bill and noticed they charged $525 for labor !!! We were also charged $95 for the 6 spark plugs that are available at retail for $4.95 each in every auto parts store . I didn't complain , but learned my lesson to not trust them and will never return . read more

My husband & his family swore by this place, so it was the obvious place to go when his car broke down in 2008. Yes, I said 2008. It was his transmission... it was out. So we paid about $2,000 to get his car fixed and he was so excited when we got it out. When we got it out, the radio was completely screwed (not sure how they managed that), and he drove it for about a week when it started breaking down at random. While it was in the shop, it had developed another problem. My husband was 99% sure it was the fuel pump... a fairly cheap repair. We took it in, and they said it wasn't the fuel pump, it was something else... they 'tested' it for months. We trusted them, so we had it repaired and paid another $500 or so. We got the car out and this time my husband drove it around for about 2 hours before it broke down. We took it back again. They spent a few more months 'testing' it, and paid a couple hundred more dollars to get whatever was wrong with it this time fixed. (They still insisted it wasn't the fuel pump.) Over a year after we took it in, they decided to check out the fuel pump. Guess what?! It needed to be replaced. They said they would comp the labor for all of the other work we'd paid for, but it would still cost another $2,000... FOR A FUEL PUMP?! THE PART IS SIXTY NINE FREAKING DOLLARS!! We got the car back and are getting it fixed elsewhere. These guys are not trustworthy, honest repairmen. read more

I cannot speak highly enough about Texas Auto Service. Last week I was traveling to Texas from Colorado to visit family. On the way down, my car started making a terrible noise and I took it into a random strip center service center to be checked out. I was told that my wheel bearings needed to be replaced and I was quoted an outrageous price. I called my regular mechanic in Colorado who, with the help of NAPA, referred me to Texas Auto Service; and boy, am I glad they did. On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I called Mike at Texas Auto Service and although they were extremely busy and backed up against the holiday, he said he would do his best to troubleshoot and fix the problem before closing for the Thanksgiving holiday. The wheel bearings did need to be replaced, but the guys at Texas Auto Service were able to troubleshoot the issue, order the parts, and repair the vehicle in under 24 hours, and at half the cost I was quoted by the other outfit. Due to their efforts, I was able to get to East Texas for the holiday and make it back to Colorado safely.
