When the technician named Jordan came ( for a $135 fee) he diagnosed my dishwasher and washer repair and after a conversation with his "boss" quoted $875 to fix them. When I told him I wouldn't pay that he said "how about $400". I showed him the door. Then I went in Angi's list and a repairman name Kaje called me back diagnosed my problem from a video sent to his phone and said it wasn't a problem at all I just had the dishwasher set incorrectly. He told me how to fix it over the phone and it working perfectly. (My bad). The door to the dishwasher still needs a new spring so it won't fall to the ground when opened and he is coming to do that for $75. The first "technician" was clearly a part of a scam system using the toll free number listed on this website.

I looked online for appliance repairs that would service a Samsung dryer, and found that most local businesses didn't work on Samsung. :-/ My next step was to contact Sears, but I knew that the repair would probably cost me at least $300-$400, and after an initial call to them, the soonest they could see me was a week later. I kept looking, and was referred to Matt from another repairman (I forgot his name). Matt called me back within a few hours of my initial call, told me that he was happy to drive out to the mid-cities to help me, and said that it most likely was the heating element - a common repair on Samsung dryers. He also could come out quickly - I called on a Friday and he could come on Monday. When he showed up, I expected that this would be a diagnosis, and if he needed the part he would have to order it and come back. However, he showed up and already had the part with him! We was super courteous and quick - he ran some tests and confirmed the heating element was broken. He even took it out of the machine and showed me the part that broke to confirm. Within a half hour, the new part was in and the dryer was as good as new! He also charged me about $100 less than Sears for parts and labor. I asked him how he got started in appliance repair, and he told me that for years he'd worked for places like Sears repairing appliances, but wanted to branch out and start his own business. I am definitely hanging onto his number in case any future appliances need work.

This is not due to the service man who who terrific, I do not know if the parts dept ordered the wrong number . My biggest complaint is with the scheduling dept. Each of the 5 times the repair man had to come out they could not tell me if it would be in the morning or afternoon, until about 9AM. Therefore I had to take off and disrupt my ENTIRE day. It would be nice if the day before they would tell you if it was AM or PM service call. I was told I could request but there was no guarantee so I was still stuck waiting around. The service man Oleg was wonderful and very knowledgeable . I have no problem with the caliber of work that was finally done but I do think the company needs to look at their scheduling dept who obviously does not care about the customer.
