We were initially…read moreworried about how our son would adapt to a formal school environment (he began after just turning 3), and we are so happy that we decided to start with SSH. The teachers and staff are phenomenal and create such a loving learning environment, and truly are invested in supporting each individual child. We get constant feedback on how our son is progressing, areas we can focus on at home to support him, and we have seen him flourish over the last 5 months, not only in his bilingualism, but socially, and with foundational content-development. Attending Spanish Schoolhouse adds a significant amount to our commute, but 100% worth it to get the quality foundation that attending SSH affords him.

Hola! I found this place via Groupon. I had been wanting to…read morestart learning Spanish (again), so I was glad I came across this opportunity. I had taken some Spanish classes in school, but the old adage, "if you don't use it, you lose it", is certainly true. Besides having taken those Spanish classes MANY years ago, I just never used it outside of school. Now more than ever, I really want to learn Spanish. I want to USE my Spanish. And I want to be able to communicate with Spanish speakers here and abroad. So that is what I'm doing... I'm beginning to learn all over again. ...And the process to get started was VERY easy. I called the number, spoke with Karina (the owner - who is a very lovely person, btw), told her about my Spanish speaking experience, and she told me when and where. I first began taking classes once a week, but now I am taking them twice a week. (You have the option to do either). I have had the same teacher the entire time, and she is a wonderful lady as well, Martha. I am in a small group. It is more of a tutoring environment, which I find to be much more conducive to learning. It doesn't matter what level you are at, they have a class for everyone. If you can't even count to 5 in Spanish...there is a class for you. If you speak a little Spanish or are advanced....they have a place for you also. They make sure that you are in a group where you feel comfortable with the level of Spanish that you are learning, so you don't feel overwhelmed or not being pushed enough (if that is what you desire). They offer Spanish classes for children also. I don't know much about these, as I have no children...but I do know, when I happen to glance in on their classroom while I'm going to mine, or happen to see them leaving, they sound and look happy. They also have a user friendly website. I pay for my class through that website, and it takes less than a minute to make the payment. Overall, it is a good learning and practicing environment. The teachers are helpful and enthusiastic. They have a great energy. I honestly have ZERO complaints about this program! Don't hold yourself back...if you've thought about learning Spanish...give this program a try!

Everyone that works in that school knows my child by name. This is not a daycare. It is a school from 3 months old and on. All the teachers are native Spanish speakers and only communicate in Spanish with the students. In addition to being Spanish immersion, they follow the Project-Based Learning Curriculum even in the nursery school. Your child will not be sitting around all day, their days are full of activities. Each month is a different theme/project and the teachers tailor-fit their lesson plans to match. For example, this month's theme at the nursery and preschool schools is "Deja un Mensaje/Leave a Message." Students are learning all about communication - the traditional and modern ways to stay in touch, the importance of the messages that we send and how communication can connect us to other cultures. The entire school is decorated with mailboxes and letters. I highly recommend checking them out!
