There's a lot of cool stuff at this exit and it usually has the cheapest prices maybe alongside Bucee's a few miles to the north - or sometimes a little cheaper or more expensive. I've stopped at this gas station several times now and will probably do so again.

Those nuggets reminded me a lot like Crunch n Munch but with a horrible aftertaste even their weak "coffee" couldn't wash away. It's been years since we've been back so I don't know if it's still true but it seemed to me those times that the greater portion of their branded merchandise and other "Texas" souvenirs were made in China. Such a logical point of this triangle and forever left out of the national psyche. This Shell station is part of the Woody's Smokehouse Empire. They almost always have gas that is $0.10 or even 20 to 25 cents cheaper than all of the stations up and down the highway. They also caused the Chevron across the street to have really low gas prices. They have plenty of pumps on both sides of the highway and it's hard not to give them 5 stars.

What most maps won't show however, is that this particular station is located in an elevated lot, which is essentially the roof of Woody's Smokehouse - Northbound (#1) directly across from the Shell gas station (#2). While the restaurant / gas station is located on St. Mary's St just off of I-45, one will still need to turn into N Fwy Service Road and drive up a slight incline hill to reach the lot. The supercharging site has a dozen Tesla stalls charging at 250kw along with another dozen stalls dedicated to Rivian vehicles. The lot is expansive -- great for space but less so when heat is bouncing off the concrete in full force. The other bit of good news? Woody's Smokehouse is kind of cool. Without going too hard into a review, they've got a good mix of spacious bathrooms, souvenirs for last minute gifts, and a nice selection of BBQ and comfort foods. I'm never going to be mad about stopping to charge the vehicle while perusing all there is to see at Woody's. Not all charging stations / rest stops are created equal but I have to give this Centerville stop a thumbs up for being more than adequate. It's not too crowded and there are bins for garbage disposal. The only thing edible from this place was the fried okra and the biscuits. I'm just not sure how food could be that bad but it was. The Jack in the Box in our town is way above and beyond the Chester's Chicken and that's saying a lot because we've had problems with our Jack in the Box. I will never eat Chester's Chicken again no matter what state I'm in. I pretty much threw $30 away in the trash last night. The only other complaint that I have is that I called my order in and we left 20 minutes later to go pick it up and we still have to wait another 20 minutes to receive our food. I was traveling out of town, when my check engine light came on…read more 2 hours from home, and 3 hours from my destination. 5am Saturday morning. Love's was 4 miles away. Lanae helped me first, checking under my hood. Advising the mechanic would be in at 6:30am. I waited for him to arrive. Rickey is his name. He immediately scanned my check engine light and diagnosed the problem for me. Rickey was my angel. He was able to help me out (*off the clock of course) Friday when I got back into town. Lanae took my information to allow me to leave my car parked all week until vacation was over. THIS WAS THE BEST LOVE's STATION I HAVE BEEN TO. Mark, the manager was friendly, I told him my story when he arrived. I don't think I could have asked for nicer people y'all. Restroom was clean.
