GMAT MBA.com practice test score pre-TestCrackers: 640 GMAT final score after TestCrackers: 710 Words cannot express how grateful I am for these two (which is why I brought them a homemade lasagna at the conclusion of our class). For the uninitiated, the GMAT can be scary. This one test has real consequences if you're planning on applying for an MBA, so it's not something to take lightly. After a long online search and a few emails out to friends, I decided to try out TestCrackers. I went ahead and messaged Yuri about his full GMAT course with him and Seth, and there was one space left. I grabbed the spot and thus began my weekly 55 minute commute (each way) for class. Just so you know, both Yuri and Seth are rockstars. In the beginning, I really struggled with the verbal section. Seth taught this section and really helped me get to those "aha!" moments where the material/strategy/grammar rule suddenly clicks. His instruction had a profound effect on my score: on my first practice exam, my raw verbal score was a 33, but by test day, my verbal score was a 42. The quantitative section is its own beast. I struggled with consistency on this section, sometimes scoring as high as 43, but at other times scoring as low as 35. Yuri ran the show for this section of the GMAT course. I was shocked at how simple he made the problems feel. He taught us several tricks which saved my butt on the actual test. Moreover, he helped me strategize this section and work on skipping certain problem types where my knowledge was shaky, and to capitalize on the questions where my knowledge was solid. On game day, I scored a 44 on this section. By the time the test rolled around, I felt confident and ready. The structure of the class and homework helped me build up my focus, and by the time the test rolled around, I felt like I had the stamina needed to push through. In the end, I received a 44 on Quant, 42 on Verbal, and an 8 on integrative reasoning for a 710 total score. I am truly grateful for this course. I never imagined that I would break the 700 mark on this test and I know that I could not have done it without the help I received from Yuri and Seth at TestCrackers. If you're considering the GMAT, do yourself a favor and sign up with TestCrackers. read more

I tried a lot of different test prep options. I've taken in person classes. I've bought a lot of books with money I didn't have. I've also tried the online options like Magoosh. I never felt prepared for the GRE like I did after I took the Testcrackers course with Yuri. I firmly believed that I was never going to do well on a standardized test. I never did well on them in the past (i.e. SATs in high school) and I never did well on my GRE attempts before Testcrackers. I felt I had climbed a mountain and broke through a mental wall after doing well on my GREs after taking the Testcrackers course. I am now in my 3rd year as a PhD student and I have Testcrackers to thank following years of terrible GRE scores and failed attempts at getting into a PhD program. But I dont have them to thank just for getting me into the program. The course helped me prepare for my graduate studies by helping me gain confidence in myself and what I can accomplish. Thank you Yuri and thank you to everyone at Testcrackers. I was about to give up on getting my PhD. Testcrackers was the last study prep I was going to try for my final attempt at getting accepted. Thankfully, I found you guys right in time. If you're reading this and deciding between Magoosh or similar test preps, I can tell you from my experience as someone who is not good at quant and terrible at tests, for me, Testcrackers worked. Testcrackers is different. The educators at testcrackers know how to teach. read more

Yuri is a wonderful instructor! I took his GRE quant course and I am very glad I did. I need to start off by saying that I am pretty much allergic to math. Even the simplest math like splitting dinner bills is something I try to avoid whenever I can. However since I decided to apply to grad school, I had to do something about it. I found out about Yuri reading Yelp reviews. After reading the info on his website (listed almost everything I needed to know) I emailed him to ask about the GRE small group class availability. Unfortunately the weekend course I was interested in was already full, but he was very helpful to answer any questions I had. After I signed up for a later date course, luckily there was a cancellation in the earlier one I was initially interested in, so he emailed me about it and I was able to sign up for that instead. His materials are very through. Each lesson is very well structured. He makes sure that everyone understands the material before proceeding. And what I liked most about his course was that nobody (Yuri and the class mates) made me feel stupid or inadequate for asking really basic questions. He knows the way to lead you to the right answer without telling you how it's done. It's almost like he can see through what's going on in your brain and is able to twist it so you can get on the right track. This might not make sense, but you will understand once you take his classes. Magic! I have not yet taken the actual GRE, but after 5 weeks, I went from avoiding dinner bill calculation to scoring 160's constantly on practice tests. That's quite something, don't you think? On top of Yuri's class, I signed up for a private tutoring service with a well known agency, and it was nothing but a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME and MONEY. Not only there was no structure, but one instructor was not even able to solve the problems without looking at explanations... sigh. Maybe I just had bad luck, but if you are debating between Yuri vs. those big name companies, try Yuri first. You will not regret it. (I signed up for this before Yuri's class started, thinking that I would need extra help on quant, but I really didn't.) Anyhow, I was so happy with his GRE course that I raved about it so much at home; my husband is now taking Yuri's GMAT course (even though it's an hour drive from home). Ha! My only complain is that he does not teach verbal. I hope he reads this review and consider teaching verbal someday :P Thanks Yuri!!! read more

As someone who has gone through Kaplan's in-person class, and bought the Manhattan Prep materials to study on my own, I say with the greatest confidence that nothing has been more effective than signing up for TestCrackers. The class is located right off of the Ashby BART station, making it easily accessible (especially if you're coming from San Francisco). If you do the coupled Quant and Verbal class, it's six hours of class time and homework from the original GMAT guide. What really makes TestCrackers stand out for me is that, in a demoralizing exam like the GMAT, the structure of the class is to really make each of the subject areas manageable. The instructors boost your confidence by really focusing on each question. The Socratic method allows you to really absorb the tricks and strategies they teach you, rather than cramming the lesson and forgetting it the next day. Every two classes, the instructors also provide strategies for how to test to the test: either skipping problems judiciously or cutting your losses to manage your time most effectively. I was especially thrilled with all the support and guidance Anisa was able to provide through TestCrackers. Anisa was my instructor for the verbal section, which compared to the quant section, I am much more hit or miss on. But her continued patience and warmth made the three (!!) hours fly by. She gives a high overview on the types of challenges you may run into with critical reasoning questions, how to most effectively handle the reading comprehension, and strategically eliminate answers to quickly attack the sentence correction. She is so thoughtful and organized -- but don't be fooled by her exuding kindness. She is also UNBELIEVABLY smart. By studying her methods and taking on her can-do attitude, I saw a significant improvement in my verbal score In sum: soak in as much, try your hardest to keep up with the coursework, and I can guarantee you'll see the results. It was a great experience even beyond test taking, do the work and it will happen for you too! (And did I mention free snacks throughout the class?? Study paradise.) read more

Awesome test prep service. I decided to go with them because of their amazing yelp reviews, and they did not disappoint. Because they are a small operation, they are very personable, down-to-earth and responsive. They have a tremendous amount of experience, and are also just great guys. My GRE courses were 3 hours per session, yet I rarely looked at the clock. There were students in my classes that drove upwards of an hour to come, and they all agreed that it was completely worth it. I had a low-stress, positive experience, and I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you Seth/Yuri! UPDATE: my final GRE score boosted about 15 points after TestCrackers (which is about a 40th percentile change). read more

I took the Quantitative GRE Test Prep class with Anisa. I was amazed to see how she kept the class engaging and helpful for all members, even with our varying levels of quantitative skills. She was always open to questions, but simultaneously kept the class moving so that we covered all the material. Her patience and skill in explaining quantitative concepts in many different ways, was very impressive. She pushed each member of class just the right amount to challenge them and help them learn, while not overwhelming anyone. She was encouraging and supportive with the mental and emotional battle of taking the test, as well as, the quantitative material. Her brilliance, patience, and teaching skills were outstanding. Anisa will work with you and your individual needs to make sure you are supported and achieve your goals. I am already happy with my improvement through her class and studying plan and know that I'll be satisfied with my end result. I can't recommend her enough! read more

I researched for weeks before deciding on TestCrackers for my GRE prep. I hadn't studied the math content in years and was totally unprepared to start learning this material on my own. After months of unsuccessful prep - Yuri saved the day. He is an excellent instructor. He is calm and clear. He offers creative, simple solutions to frustrating problems, and more than anything he makes his class welcoming and something to look forward to. The homework he assigns is plentiful without being overwhelming and he provides all the resources you could need to study for the exam included in the fees. This was the most reasonably priced class I found and it was worth every minute. read more

I don't ever write Yelp reviews except when I think a place has been exceptional. Testcrackers is that place! I did private tutoring with Yuri for the LSAT for a few months and my score increased exponentially! He provided really amazing tailored advise on the multiple choice, particularly the reading comprehension section. He is also super approachable, always responsive to my calls and emails, and even called to ask how I did after I took the exam, which really shows he cares. I cannot recommend Yuri enough! read more

Can't say enough good things about Yuri, Seth and the classes they run at TestCrackers. I took the full GMAT prep course which included Verbal with Seth and Quant with Yuri. Class sizes are small and highly participatory, but very comfortable and collaborative. They've also held free events with admissions consultants, and both Yuri and Seth have been happy to help and answer any questions even after the class is over. read more

Over the years, I had spent thousands of dollars on several GRE courses, books, etc. without successfully finding a program that helped me improve my score, and frankly I had given up on applying to grad school. This year, I decided to give it one last shot and found Yuri on Yelp. Yuri helped me raise my quant score by 11 points! His tutoring helped me improve my knowledge and understanding of math concepts that seemed impossible to grasp. Yuri is patient and takes the time to focus on the issues that you have challenges with. He puts difficult math concepts into a context that makes it easy for YOU to understand and more importantly, remember (conceptually) NOT memorize. I found Yuri's teaching methods so valuable that I drove 3 hours to and from every time I scheduled a session with him. Thanks to YELP for helping me find TestCrackers! read more

Anisa was an amazing GRE teacher! I've always struggled with standardized tests and after taking the quant and verbal courses with her I feel more prepared than I could have imagined. Even one month after completing the course, Anisa is still accessible and available to answer questions and help make sure her students do their best. HIGHLY recommend her as a teacher for anyone that wants to improve their GRE score and feel more confident in their test taking skills. read more

Couldn't recommend TestCrackers enough! I took the Quant class with Seth (after not taking a math class in over 6 years) and found the class to be invaluable. Seth is a great teacher, and the testcracker materials and homework were very well-structured. The class format is interactive (you WILL be called on to answer questions), but it never felt judgmental and it was helpful to walk through problems out loud. Additionally, as others have mentioned - you get so much more with the class than what you're paying for! We had an info session with an admissions consultant, bookshelves of GMAT/GRE quant and verbal books that you can loan study materials from, weekly office hours (on top of class time), and unlimited snacks. Seth was extremely helpful in helping me assessing my strengths and weaknesses in quant - even taking time to look over my Manhattan score report in detail to provide recommendations. Additionally, I worked with Kate Greenthal (one of TestCrackers tutors) after the course had wrapped up to help push my score from mid-high 600s to over the 700 mark. I really enjoyed working with Kate as she uses Testcrackers materials as well and continued to help me refine the strategies that I had learned in the quant course. She is supportive, easy to work with, and helped me meet my goal! MGMAT Practice Test #1: 600 to GMAT: 710 (with a 10 point (!!) increase in my quant score) read more

Yuri is an excellent tutor. I came in with lacking math skills, and Yuri helped find which areas I was struggling with most and taught me how to strengthen them. He's friendly and takes his time with you if necessary. I was able to boost my GMAT score by 50 points to a 690 with his help. Highly recommended. read more

Yuri is a fantastic tutor and his techniques and shortcuts for GMAT quant and verbal problem types are very useful and awesome. His coaching style is very casual and patient. Definitely try's to adapt his style based on the student's needs. Apart from the lessons he teaches, Yuri is open to working with the student in coming up with study plans, solving random problem sets, and analyzing mistakes from mocks etc. Personally I have benefited a lot from the 2.5 months of coaching I have had with him - gained confidence in my skills, improved techniques on the ones I am slow or weak, and worked out better strategies for the exams. Glad to report that I have been able to bump from a score of 590 to 680 with help from Yuri. I would recommend Yuri to anyone who is looking for a genuine and sincere teacher and who is committed to helping you improve. read more

I am a humanities major who took almost no math in college. After two and a half months of weekly tutoring with Yuri, I went from scoring in the low 150's on GRE math to a 163. I would not have been able to achieve my score in this time frame without Yuri's help. Yuri offers a comprehensive program that will prepare you for GRE math. He demystifies the math section by explaining the main problem types on the test. He teaches the best strategies for tackling these kinds of problems by combining instruction with hands-on practice. Yuri is the math teacher I always wished I had, someone who can correct my mistakes in a memorable, friendly way. Working with Yuri is not just the best way to prepare for the GRE math, he makes it fun. I found that I started learning more once I relaxed a bit and let our tutoring sessions become conversations about problems and their solutions. Yuri's sense of humor is part of what makes him such an effective teacher. At my last tutoring session, Yuri showed me a rare clip of Chris Farley performing an early version of the "van down by the river" SNL sketch during Farley's Second City days. Moments like that helped me find some levity in the prep process. read more

First and foremost, do not waste your time and money on a prep class like TestMasters, Kaplan or Princeton Review, go to Yuri. What I got out of 2 hours a week with him was equivalent to 8 hours in TestMasters. I couldn't do an LSAT logic game when I started but took the LSAT with confidence thanks to Yuri and lots of practice. As others have mentioned Yuri is an extremely patient, non-judgemental teacher that treats his students as people. The test is stressful but the mood was always light with Yuri and he encouraged me while being realistic. His location is great due to the easy walk from Ashby BART, plenty of street parking and distance from the freeway. He is very organized with his scheduling and works to accomdate every student he can while making sure not to sacrifice his lesson quality. Yuri is the kind of guy who calls you after your LSAT to see how things went and who you let know where you got into school even though your last tutor session was almost 3 months ago. read more

Yuri helped me acquire the skills to master the test. Yuri's approach is simple and straightforward. He is highly intelligent and has the ability to teach what he knows. After each session, it was like a light bulb went on in my brain. Most importantly, his passion for teaching brings out the very best in every student! read more

Yuri is an incredibly smart and talented tutor. Not only did he have answers to every one of my questions but also provided me with "mini-lessons" for each question to help me conceptually understand the problem. Yuri has an ability to make difficult problems easier to manage. I consider myself lucky to have learned from Yuri -- my score went from 630 to 700 during my studies with him. Yuri was extremely helpful in both quant and verbal. Halfway through my studies I moved to Boston and we went from in-person lessons to online/Skype lessons, which were very effective as well. I consider Yuri a friend of mine and look forward to staying in touch with him. read more

Yuri is an exceptional LSAT tutor, and application adviser. His guidance on studying for the LSAT, and preparing written statements is definitely a game-changer. His apt ability to revise and give quick timeless advice is worth far more than his $40 rate, which is actually $30 less than most other tutors. Overall, I had a great experience working with Yuri, and he is flexible with times/dates/and going overtime. Hiring on Yuri is a "no brainer," do it. read more

I never post Yelp reviews but I had to make an exception for the amazing team at TestCrackers. I took both the GMAT quant and the GMAT verbal course over a period of 2.5 months with Seth and the experience was awesome. Even from the first class, I walked out of the classroom feeling inspired and I always looked forward to returning to class each week. Seth forms great relationships with each of his students and genuinely cares about each student's success. He is a fun teacher that knows many great insights about the structure of the test, timing strategy, and GMAT content. If you live near Berkeley and are choosing between a big box company, such as Manhattan GMAT or Veritas, or TestCrackers, the decision is simple. I doubt any big-box company provides the same level of content, a 12-person class size, and two hours of small-group quant tutoring EACH WEEK on top of the general class. Oh, did I mention that TestCrackers is also less expensive than each of the former options? No brainer. Even after finishing with TestCrackers back in early December, I am still in touch with Seth to this day. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find an instructor that is both super talented and caring. With the help of TestCrackers, I was able to score a 760 on the GMAT and cannot wait to apply to schools in the Fall. read more

Yuri is amazing! He is the best!! I am an international student from Hong Kong, weak at math and an non-native english speaker. Yuri is my super hero for helping me to prepare my Gmat exam. Yuri is super patient, encouraging and helpful. He guided me through the whole process, helped me to really understand the logic, theories of the questions. Yuri actually makes math interesting for me. I am an very anxious person and i was suffered from insomnia for two weeks before my exam. Yuri is very caring and his encouraging attitude helped me to overcome some of my anxiety. After 10 classes, i can able to boost my gmat point by 80 points. I would recommend this great tutor to every of my friend! read more

I worked with Anisa for my verbal prep. She made the class super interactive and also made sure that we were absorbing the right concepts and rejecting the incorrect ones . I came to Yuri with some shaky math skills and about five weeks to prepare for my GMAT. Yikes. Yuri's relaxed demeanor quickly calmed my nerves and made the daunting task seem manageable. His method of teaching was logical, well paced, and expertly delivered. For someone who suffers from a bit of math anxiety, Yuri was the perfect teacher. I really appreciated his ability to reteach basic math skills and then provide real GMAT applications for these skills. He made me realize that I had already learned the math skills needed to do well on the GMAT--they simply needed to be revisited and put back to use. Also, his ability to figure out my learning style and taylor his teaching to fit my needs was truly fantastic! In the end I increased my score by 110 points! I could have never done that on my own. If you want to see serious improvement on your GMAT score, you need Yuri. read more

Great program with Yuri and Seth. If you are preparing for your GRE or GMAT review this is the class for you.

I enrolled and completed both the Verbal and Quant GRE preparation classes offered by Testcrackers. Seth and Yuri are very good at what they do, and they are also immensely passionate about helping their students to be successful. Because of my participation in these classes, both of my test scores were measurably increased. Testcrackers provided me with the tools, resources and strategic guidance for getting the best scores possible. I couldn't imagine any GRE prep teachers who would've been better than these guys. Thanks Seth and Yuri! read more

This review is dedicate to Seth, although Yuri you're the best math teacher I ever known! I got to know Test cracker from the beginning of 2015, at that time I met Yuri in his backyard and talked about my expectation and how I have been studied so much with various GMAT teachers but without seeing much result. Yuri was very down to earth and explained his program very well, so I decided to go with both the math and verbal class although I'm already pretty strong at Quant. I love Yuri's backyard classroom and the intimate 8 people class. Seth's verbal class is truly exceptional. Because of that, I was able to think from a test writers' point of view, especially for sentence correction, I was able to come up with the right answer, thinking like a test writer. I felt too bad that Seth didn't offer a second level verbal class. What get me to know Seth more, is because I suck at Verbal and had to take the private tutoring from him. Seriously, I suck at verbal to the degree that sometime I would be a raw score of 14 out of 51. I had no confidence whatsoever. I cried so hard when I first took my real GMAT test and felt I was like a piece of garbage. However, Seth keep on encourage me to practice more and never give up. In order to maximize our tutoring time together, I would bring so many different questions Critical Reasoning, Reading, SC, grammar and so on to ask him, he has an amazing way to explain it to me. Sometimes, I would argue with him about a critical reasoning, and he'd try to find at least two, three different examples to tell me until it becomes clear to me. I challenge him with a few math question too, he solve them all! Not only he is awesome at teaching, but what set him apart is that he really cares about his students. In conclusion, Test cracker is really great, that even a student who's not so bright like me was able to improve from 490 to 640. If you want to go above 700, I strongly advise you to go with their private tutoring, because that is the best! I'm so excited to be accepted to Haas, and I could not have done this without Test cracker! read more

Seth and Yuri are INCREDIBLE instructors! Not only are they friendly, attentive, and awesome teachers, but they really put in the extra work to make sure you're satisfied with your studying and your score. Yuri and Seth are some of the most personable and down to earth teachers you could ask for. Although preparing for any sort of standardized test is daunting, they are great at breaking down hard concepts. Their passion and enthusiasm for their work is shown during class; no class is ever boring or repetitive. Even though TestCrackers is a relatively small and new class, it's much better than any of the bigger companies. Here's why: Yuri and Seth are actually experts of the subject matter they're teaching. I believe both got top marks on their own GRE scores, and it shows when they teach. They know everything there is to know about the GRE. Classes are conversational and interactive. There is always going to be a lecture component of classes, but Yuri and Seth are excellent at engaging students and weaving them into the curriculum. Getting chosen to participate was at first scary, but the class environment welcomes people to make mistakes and ultimately learn. They act as your personal teacher. Seth not only personally graded a sample essay that I wrote, but also expanded upon it, typing out how he would word things. Yuri actually had a phone conversation with me about best practices for studying, and built out a study plan for me to follow after the course was completed. Although I didn't personally utilize them, there are also periodic office hours for students to get personalized help. They like what they're doing... a lot! Every class is full of enthusiasm and students can tell that Seth and Yuri genuinely like the subjects that they teach. For me, that's important because a teaching relationship goes two ways. The student has to put in the work to learn the material, and the teacher has to give the student the tools to do so in an encouraging and enticing way. I would highly, highly recommend this class for anyone that's considering a test prep course! read more

Yuri is a great tutor. He is very patient and helpful. If you don't understand something, Yuri will gladly explain it until you get it. It's very hard to get this with other tutors. Often times, tutors will make you feel dumb if you don't understand something. Yuri, on the other hand, will walk you through a problem from different angles until you understand it. I studied with Yuri for the GMAT for close to 3 weeks. Yuri and I focused on the areas that I was weak in and he taught me how to strategically approach each problem. He also summarized the entire sentence correction section for me in under 2 hours! Needless to say, I received a 650 on the test which I was very pleased with. I am confident in saying that I would not have been able to achieve such a high score without Yuri's help. read more

Yuri is an amazing person. He is a great tutor. I debated doing one of the test prep classes with bigger companies or seeing a private tutor and I liked the idea of sitting down with someone one on one so i chose private lessons. I cannot say how happy I am that I was able to find Yuri. He helped me prepare for the LSAT and I was very happy with my results. He was also very helpful in giving me tips and advice with my personal statement. I would recommend his services to anyone in my family who needed to study for the LSAT GMAT or GRE. If you go see Yuri you will surely be impressed and he will help guide you on a course which will put you in the best possible position to get the most of your abilities and maximize your scores. read more

I am a person who usually has poor luck trying to find a proper tutor. Ever since I needed help in geometry in the 7th grade, every tutor I have had has either been extremely awkward or unaware and apathetic to my needs as a student. Yuri is the first tutor I have had that I found myself excited to learn with, not to mention he really knows the ins and outs of this test. Any question I had I got an answer that was not only accurate and helpful, but also coherent and in terms I could understand. Out of every tutor I have had, especially in regards to the LSAT, Yuri is definitely the one who has taught me the most. My score increased drastically and my confidence in the LSAT has been restored because of our lessons! If you're like me and you need the most knowledgable tutor who is also an overall awesome guy to be around, Yuri is your teacher! read more

Yuri is truly the LSAT master. If you're looking for someone who has teaching skills as well as in depth knowledge of the LSAT, then Yuri is your guy. I had a wonderful experience all around at TestCrackers. I did the Quant and Verbal courses with Andrew and Lynne respectively. Both of them were absolutely phenomenal teachers and I found myself looking forward to going to the classes every week to learn from these two. Even after the class was over, they provided resources to continue studying. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to study the GRE! read more

I had a fantastic experience taking both GRE courses from Yuri and Seth. I took them separately, which worked well for me since I work full-time and there is a lot of homework. I ended up improving 14 points (up 7 points in Quant and 7 in Verbal) as well as getting a great score on the essay portion. Both Yuri and Seth do a great job of breaking down the different topics, providing test taking strategy, and answering questions. Most importantly, I really appreciated their humor. It's pretty dry material, but it never felt like a chore going to class which I definitely needed as test-prep fatigue started to set in towards the end of my studying. Additionally, they were both great resources after I finished the courses. Yuri even helped me come up with a study plan for Quant from when the class ended to when I eventually took it. Couldn't have asked for a better class! read more

Based on previous reviews I had high expectations for the quant GRE course. Honestly my expectations were exceeded. I am just starting the verbal GRE course so can't yet comment on that one but the quant course combined lot's of tips, tricks, and strategy for the test with plenty of foundational math and analytical thinking material. While I may have been able to find the raw subject matter in books and online material albeit much less engaging and interesting, but it would not have been combined with an equal dose of real world strategy, tips, and insight into getting to the right answer in the quickest and most efficient way. Yuri's enthusiasm for teaching and for the material was evident in every class. He is adept at understanding where each student is coming from and adapting his presentation of the material to each individuals learning style and level. Everyone participated and nobody was ever made to feel self conscious or inferior. read more

TestCrackers was the best decision for getting myself to finally dive into studying and improving my score. The teachers really cared about each student, and created a supportive learning environment in the classroom. I actually enjoyed attending these evening classes even after a long day. The teachers also made it very clear that they were available for individual consultation outside of class. They hold office hours, and are reachable by phone and email at virtually anytime. Lastly, even once the class sessions ended, the teachers offered to help me develop a continued study plan and check-in schedule until I take the exam. Thank you TestCrackers!! I already have recommended TestCrackers to a number of friends, and would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for more study strategy and/or structure. I took the Quant section class with Yuri--amazing teacher! And I took the Verbal section with Seth--also an amazing teacher! Truly. Thank you both! read more

The best investment I have ever made. My GMAT score went up 60 points in a month and a half of tutoring with Yuri. He is extremely adaptive to learning styles and a very positive spirit. If you have the opportunity to work with him for 8-12 weeks make sure u take advantage and do so. read more

TestCrackers is amazing! Definitely lives up to the awesome Yelp reviews. I took the verbal course with Seth and the quant course with Yuri- would highly recommend both of them. They provide super useful strategies for taking the test rather than just making you memorize a bunch of stuff. I found these strategies really useful when I went to take the actual GRE. Taking the course boosted my score by a lot- I started with a 157/158 on the diagnostic test and ended up getting a 162/166 on the actual test. Thanks TestCrackers- I couldn't have done it without you! read more

I cannot think of a company or organization in recent memory that impressed me more than Testcrackers. They were easily the best decision I made in the grad school app process and after working with Testcrackers, I had the confidence to apply to my dream schools and ended up being accepted to Harvard, Oxford, Berkeley and Yale. Between the classes, prep books and office hours, every aspect of their program feels intentional and clearly designed to set you up for success. They also have phenomenal partners like Bancroft Advising which made a world of difference in my applications. Throughout the app prep process, I had many moments when I got discouraged and the team is truly a phone call away which still surprised me each time because I'm just not accustomed to that kind of genuine accessibility and care. There were many times when I got one-on-one attention during office hours or even times when I couldn't make office hours and the team took time especially for me to go over questions over video. I couldn't believe the level of care I received and could not recommend them more. They truly set the bar for what a student-centered company should be. Frankly, I'm not one to leave reviews but I wholeheartedly believe in the Testcrackers model and greatly appreciate how incredible they were. I highly recommend Testcrackers - the single best investment I have made. read more

I highly recommend Yuri and Seth for GMAT prep. I took another course first and also studied on my own for 6-7 months before I took the GMAT for the first time. I thought I was well prepared when I scored only 590 last year. I took a year break and started looking online for teachers that provide private lessons. Then, I contacted Yuri as his tutoring had 5 star rating on Yelp. When I told him my points/% in Quant and Verbal he recommended that I took the class rather than spend a lot more $ on private lessons. I signed up for both the Quant (with Yuri) and the Verbal (with Seth) classes at the beginning of this year. Yuri and Seth prefer that you already have some knowledge before the class so you do not need to start from the bottom. That way, you can actually build on what you already know and get better. That was my case anyways. Both classes were really helpful. I took the test a month after the classes ended and scored 620. However, I knew I could do better and continued studying and re-took the test a month later. During this month, I took 3 two-hour long private quant lessons with Seth (both teachers are good at both Verbal and Quant). My last score was 670. I would say this is a huge progress from last year - from 590 to 670. My quant score went from 44 to 47 points and my verbal from 28 to 35. If you want to increase your score, you should definitely take Seth's and Yuri's classes. You need to study really hard as well. But they will motivate you, show you tricks and help you progress. read more
