So when I read "custom," I insert expensive. I gathered four bids on custom vanities for our three…read morebathrooms. Not only was Sweetwater competitively priced, Michael builds cabinetry one way. He's not going to talk to you about seven different hinge options or five different degrees to which a drawer can be sanded (I didn't even know there were multiple interior sanded options...and WTH?...doesn't sanded mean sanded?). My three vanities were delivered on schedule (for fear I'll put them in a bad position, I'll refrain from telling you how fast they made these vanities). All three are solid, specs are perfect, and painted to perfection. I was so pleased I I also asked Sweetwater to overhaul my dining room cabinetry. This is what I know: Michael is a gem. His guys are equally as fantastic. They answer the phone. They return emails. They show up when they say they'll show up. Imagine! I got exactly what I wanted for my home (within budget!) and didn't compromise on build quality. No matter if you're replacing or refacing...whatever, this is who gets the job. They were less than the reface estimate (stay tuned for a scathing review of that schiester company). They were less than two other cabinet company's bids. And, I know I not only got a better product but better customer service as a whole.

Our contractor recommended Dan Warner of Marble World of Santa Rosa. Asked why he gave that recommendation, our contractor said ,"Dan fabricated and installed the granite in my kitchen. He has worked on my jobs for 16 years. He loves what he does and takes pride in his workmanship." Dan knows his stone. Having looked at different marble and granite, we had been undecided until our first meeting with Dan. Thanks to his knowledge of many types of stone, we were able to narrow our selections to high quality marble and granite. Dan has good eyes for pattern. For the kitchen, we chose to have full back splash. Dan recommended we made the trip to his workshop to select the best parts of the slabs prior to cutting. He pointed out which parts would be better for the counter and back splash so as to produce the "matchbook" effect out of the top and the bottom pieces. Dan keeps his promise. Although the work was estimated to complete in 3 weeks, we asked him to fabricate the vanity first so we could get the bathroom back in service faster. Dan cheerfully said, "Yes, we will make it happen." He installed the beautiful marble vanity at the end of that week and the kitchen and the island top ahead of schedule. Dan goes out of his way to make a difference. Since we were having a new tile floor installed in the bathroom, we wanted to have some small rosettes made from the same marble slab to be laid with the floor tiles. And since the marble and the tiles are of different thickness, Dan milled the marble into the correct thickness for us. (We hired his brother, Dennis Warner, owner of Warner Tiles Company, to lay the floor tiles and that came out great, too.) Dan loves making things out of stone. After four under-mounted sinks, one marble vanity, one marble island top, one long L-shaped granite counter top and desk top, Dan still didn't stop. He made a beautiful lazy Susan out of our leftover granite and gave it to us a present at the end of the project!

I called right away and I made an appointment and Steve, the owner, came to visit me. At once I felt at ease with him with his respectful demeanor and we started talking. He was a straight shooter kind of guy, and did a survey of the kitchen area. He asked me how long I've been staying there and was I planning to sell the house. I'll die in this house was my reply. He inspected the doors and cabinets and said I would be better off If I replace them since the old ones were made of stained plywood and particle boards. I will make you a beautiful good looking kitchen. He noticed that I also had a laminated countertop and recommended that I replace it too. He took measurements and photos and gave me a rate right there. It was a bit lower than what I expected. I said, let's do it. This is what I mean by feeling at ease with him. We hand shook and he emailed me the following day with his quote for me to peruse and sign. He emailed me 5 days later with a bit higher quote since the countertop company he was contracting with had increased their prices. It was still within my budget. Lori Olsen. the office Mgr. (very good in communicating with me) called me to ask when I want it scheduled to begin. They assigned Giovanni with Nena, Luis and Jossue. Everyone was cheerful, obliging and accommodating. Leaves everything clean before going home. All of them speak highly of Steve being a good employer. Albeit the time it took to finish the project (the pandemic), I am satisfied and happy that I had MoonDance Painting do the job.

I decided to tackle the project myself while the weather was good and I had some time off. Steve has been there every step of the way giving me advice and encouragement. I am a first-time stainer, but have felt like a pro thanks to Steve's expertise. I must say that I don't think my back will ever be the same, so hopefully Moondance Painting will come to my Rescue next time around.

He will quote you a price and try to get more money out of you. He will also ask for a deposit above the legal amount. $1,000 is the most a Contractor can ask you for. He asked for 6x's this amount. He would not show up for days on end. Always with a new excuse. As I said this dragged on for 21 weeks and incomplete. He is not capable of quality work. I am having everything he's done basically redone. I've had 3 General Contractors , 3 Painters , and 3 Tile Contractors come to give me estimates on fixing all of his garbage work. Every one that came by could not believe what this guy did to my house. They're all in disbelief at his so called finished product and all of the unfinished work. He did not complete the project or fulfill any part of his contract. Nothing but lies and excuses throughout the project. He installed a new larger window in our shower with clear glass. We are next to 2 story homes that look directly into our shower. He didn't paint exterior trim around the new window. There are missing screws in the new doors. Doors not hung correctly. Tile is missing grout , cracked tile , basically needs to be re-grouted in both bathrooms. He tried doing the tile himself. 3 tile contractors suggested an entire redo. Shower doors don't shut correctly due to him damaging them. He put holes in the shower pan during tile install. So now we have a patch in a brand new shower pan. We wanted smooth wall finishes. Not one wall can be considered a smooth wall finish. Having to have them all re-sanded and floated. I could go on and on. Pictures to follow , these will give you an idea of his quality of work. Our electrical isn't wired correctly as we wanted. He left messes , paint cans , paint drips , garbage etc .. etc .. all over my house. Empty paint cans , old doors , old shelves that were not even from my house. He never completed the most simple task of hauling off demo debri. I have filed a complaint with the State License Board and am going through the process of investigators coming out and going through all the legal process. I will not give this guy the opportunity to come back to my residence. He is not capable of quality work. Everything I have written is true and accurate. I have over 300 photos that have been submitted to the License Board and "Other places" I need for my case. I will share some photos. Any response from him will be false as I can prove all of my claims. Do your research. There are reasons he doesn't have 100's of great reviews on here. Look on other review sites. You will find other very negative reviews. Look up all his info with the County , State and Federal Government. He has more Liens against him past and present than you could imagine. Liens by the Franchise tax board , the IRS , EDD , private liens. It's all public information. You will be shocked to see how many are against this guy. I did not think it was possible. Has to make you wonder.

On day 1, they noticed that our floor was ever so slightly un-level, went out to get materials to make it level, leveled it, and came back the next day to lay the tile beautifully. They also came back the following week to seal it for us. I didn't realize how far he drove, but he still came over to finish the job even though the sealing was super quick. On top of it all, Juan and his team were super friendly and communicative. I would hire him again every time. His quote was also highly competitive - really great experience overall.
