We were staying at a nearby hotel and I saw there was a mall within walking distance so we went…read moreover to check this out. We think this might be where the old Springfield Mall was but it's definitely more developed with restaurants, stores and a movie theater. We were pleasantly surprised to see so many families out, especially on a cold Friday evening. We got our steps in and checked out a few shops but didn't buy anything. Between the chain retail stores there were a few ethnic stores featuring traditional clothing. There's also a massive Target attached to the main building. Anyway, seems like a decent place to go shopping or to dine out.

The one thing I enjoy about the DMV is that they have actual malls that are lively and stores that…read moreare abundant. Another good thing is that no two malls are alike. Each mall is unique and hold some one of a kind spots inside them. This location has just that. We showed up here early in the day because we had a reservation for one of the businesses inside. We walked in and were greeted by a wide open feel and grand staircase. My god, I sound like I'm describing a mansion or hotel, not a mall. Being my first time here, I had to check out the directory to make sure where things were. It's not that huge of a mall, so finding things were easy. We first needed to use the facilities. There were nearly immaculate, which I was surprised by. Going around the mall was easy, it flowed well. I will have to stop back another time to actually enjoy myself in more of the stores.

Took my 5- and 8-year-old to Six Blades Jiu Jitsu Nova for a free trial. The environment is…read moreno-nonsense and clearly built around serious training-- which as an Army veteran is something I personally respect and felt at home in, especially given the military-style banter. That said, I didn't find the tone ideal for younger kids. There was language and phrasing ("kick his ass!") that I didn't feel was appropriate for children, and I was disappointed by comments made toward boys being beaten by girls ("You'll walk home if you lose to a girl")--not exactly the message I want either of my kids internalizing. The instructors are absolutely skilled and committed, but they treat the kids like mini adults, which may work for some families, but not ours. We ended up going with another gym that's more youth-focused, closer to home, and offers more affordable memberships with military and family discounts. I think Six Blades would be great for adult students or older teens looking for high-level instruction, but it just wasn't the right fit for our young kids. Edited for further context: For further context, what the owner describes as "jovial" banter included quotes from coaches during the kids' training session: * "Kick his ass!" * "Whoop his ass!" * "You better not lose to a girl!" * "If you lose to a girl, you're walking home!" * "Pay attention, dammit!" "Banter" implies the kids could respond with witty comebacks--but what would they realistically say to grown men in a position of authority? They simply complied. That said, I truly appreciate the owner's openness to constructive feedback. It makes me feel more confident in my decision as a parent. For now, we'll stick with the more "budget" and kid-friendly option -- at least until my children are old enough to clap back at demeaning and misogynistic comments with confidence and humor that comes with maturity.

I was in the mood for sushi so I ordered steamed dumplings and a couple of rolls I believe they were Alaskan roll and probably either a salmon, tuna, and or yellowtail. The server I wish I remember her name was so sweet and gave me some great recommendations of drinks to try. Because this was a couple of months ago I believe I can't remember the drinks I had. But I do remember the Hennessy and strawberry drink was my fav! I do believe I ordered something to go be it I can't really remember...lol. But I do know it was so hot outside and the air quality was trash because of the wildfires in Canada. They had it freezing cold in there and this is why I always have a hoodie in my car. I will be back...

It was a bit confusing, but seems like it's a sushi restaurant mixed with an Asian cuisine one. There was plenty of seating inside. This is located in a mall so we were able to find parking in the packed parking lot. They had womens and mens restrooms in the space. The service was a bit awkward, but fine overall. My husband built his own bowl that was fine. The miso soup I got was alright. I wish I liked my scallop nigiri and salmon avocado roll more. Overall the food was ok. I agree with another comment that mentioned it felt very Americanized. They had a lot of TVs on for the World Cup which was cool. They also have a huge menu with a lot of options.
