My Hyundai broke down on the way home (Boston) from Maine, right in front of the tolls in Hampton on 95 in the middle of a Saturday night. The clutch wouldn't engage, and therefore I could not get the car into gear. I had it towed to Hampton Ford/Hyundai, dropped off the key, and waited until Monday morning. When they called, they said they needed to replace the clutch disk and bearings, for $1300+, as well as some brake work for $500-$600, and some service stuff we'd already had done for another few hundred. I found Booker's through an internet search and they said they'd get back to me. Before they could, I called both places and asked them to email an estimate. From the big car dealership, I got basically a text email with no details. From Bookers, I got a pdf of an official estimate, which totaled about $1250 for all of it, brakes and clutch. We asked them to tow the car from the dealership, which they did for basically nothing. It took about as long as it would have at the dealership. When we went to pick it up, we got a little lost and arrived a little after 5 (we had called ahead). They were polite and waited for us. We talked to the man behind the counter, who was friendly and helpful. The whole experience there was pleasant and quick, which was just what we needed. Booker's helped turn what started as a terrible situation into a much less terrible situation. It's never pleasant to have to get work done in your car, especially in an area you don't know, but having someone treat you well and not take advantage of you when you are obviously in a bad situation is a breath of fresh air, especially in this age of mechanics. If you live in the area, or if you ever find yourself broken down anywhere near Hampton, NH, go to Booker's. They deserve it!

When I pointed out that it was deceptive and unfair that people would travel (potentially a fair distance) to your shop and then have this sprung on them, his response was that "people don't mind at all" and "this was just the way things are done now". Well, they weren't done that way when I bought my previous 2 bikes from, and there is absolutely NO GOOD REASON why they should be happening now. They always greet me and thank me for my business...which is something that is becoming rare in customer service. They have always told me when I "really" need something fixed and when I could wait a bit longer or skip it, if it's not critical. I appreciate that even though they are busy, they have always been great about getting me in for service asap....sometimes even the same day. Having 2 older cars, I've been in there quite a bit over the past few years! Because of their great staff, consistent service and fair prices, I recommended them to a friend who was looking to buy a used vehicle this past year. She ended up buying one there and said it's been great - she loves it. And because she's had such good luck with hers, I just recently bought my new Jeep there also. The team at Moschetto's was helpful, patient and not pushy about trying to 'sell' me something - they wanted me to be sure it was something that would make me happy in a price range that I considered to be comfortable.
