The negative is actually a positive. I wanted to eat at a restaurant across the street while I am charging. However, the car charges so fast that it would be done charging way before I finish eating. That would mean I will incur a fee for hogging the Supercharger. You're supposed to leave after you finish charging to allow others to charge. Recharges generally take between 30 to 40 minutes. That's the time frame for a fast food meal but it's not enough time for a sit down meal in a nice restaurant. If you don't mind dirtying up your car, you could just buy takeout across the street and then eat it in your car. However, I've never seen others eat in their precious Teslas while charging for fear of getting the car dirty. The car does come with 5 video games you could play while charging. Most older folks just sleep while charging. Young couples make out in their car. Teslas come with a "romance mode" where the LCD screen plays video of a fireplace, there's soft music and warm air gently blows out of the air vents. Young singles play video games or read web pages as the car also has a web browser. The car also comes with a sound system that is voice activated and connected to the internet. You just say any artist or song and it will magically play whatever you name.

The actual gas station is actually really nice inside. It's like a mini bucees. The bathrooms are super clean and there is a lot of stuff to look at and shop while you are charging. They have a cool food area with mac and cheese, fries and chicken tenders. I didn't eat here but the food looked okay. This place also is great for a rest stop because there is a lounge and even a shower and laundry area. I did like this place and would recommend it as a clean safe stopping point if you are going for a long drive!

Who knew a gas station could offer such a wide assortment of food, merchandise, and home goods? We tried some of the fresh jerky from the counter, some brisket sandwiches (get the XXL one), a banana pudding, pralines, and candied pickle chips. The candied pickle chips were insanely good with the brisket sandwich. We need those in Canada. I have never seen them before and am obsessed. There are so many flavours of jerky. I recommend them all quite frankly. The pralines were good. The banana pudding was more vanilla than banana but it wasn't bad. I just love Buc-ee's and will actively go out of my way to visit in the future.

There are a ton of chargers if you drive an EV, with up to 350kw charging rate! (11 min to go 35% - 80% for a Kia EV6) The one and only down side to Buc-ee's.... It's crowded. It's crazy busy. It's hectic. From parking to walking through the store.... It always seems like Black Friday just after the doors opened @ Walmart. For real. But, I'll return for the great charging & bathrooms. Oh!! The restrooms didn't disappoint however... We walked over to the breakfast sandwich area and not one biscuit, burrito or croissant, not one. The whole area was empty like it was shit down. Keep in mind it was 6am. We walked over to the pastry area where there were several people standing around. The lady at pastry yells over, you got any sandwiches ready? The guy lets out a sigh, reaches in a warming area under the counter and tosses up 6 biscuits and 6 burritos. He brings out a tray of croissants and starts putting them together like he's got all day. I literally had time to walk over to the clothes area, pick my niece out a buck-ee costume and walk back and the guy still hadn't wrapped one croissant sandwich. When he finally wrapped the first sandwich, my husband asked to take that one and the guy said, they'll be up on the hot bar I. A few minutes. The guy literally wrapped every single croissant sandwich and laid them on the counter next to him before putting even one on the hot bar. I don't know who was in charge of that morning shift but I'm guessing no one. Who knows how much business they lost and people they pissed off prior to 6am but I guess no one cared.
