Do not patronize Dun-Rite Trailers. Jim Carter, Service Advisor, lacks knowledge and is…read moredishonest. I can share a long story ... but, for the moment, I'll share a "straw that broke the Camel's back" anecdote. When I picked up trailer/camper on 10/23/24 after a bent axle and damaged tires were replaced, I was fully prepared to let all of Mr. Carter's shenanigans slide. I just wanted my adverse experiences at Dun-Rite to be over and done with. At home on Thursday, 10/24/25, I took a look at the tire specifications (re: the tires Mr. Carter had sold me), and, with alarm, discovered that the tires I'd been sold (and installed) ARE NOT trailer/rated. A call to Hankook Tire-Corporate Offices and others (Discount Tire-Corporate) confirmed this fact. When I subsequently contacted Mr. Carter by phone he angrily stated: "I don't have time for this, bring the trailer up". I was not going back to a place where I, and trust me others (Dexter Axle/Corporate) were victims of Mr. Carter's/Dun-Rites incompetence and dishonesty. Subsequently, I made reasonable offers via email for Mr. Carter to correct his mistakes - which were met by continued dishonest and uninformed claims that the tires are trailer-rated (hey, who cares about a tire blowout and consequences? - not Mr. Carter, I assure you), personal ad-hominin insults against me, a demand for me to "cease and desist" all contact with Dun-Rite Trailers (no interest in adult resolution), , topped off with a threat to file a Restraining Order against me. All in angry word salad. Phew.
As noted above - there's way more to the story; consider this: Dexter Axle (Corporate) had kindly provided up to $600 for damaged tire replacement - Mr. Carter "replied" to that kindness by raking Dexter $299.99 for each tire - a tire whose max retail cost is $140. He and Dun-Rite then dinged me for $51 sales tax (which should have gone to Dexter as part of their $600 allowance). What a guy! What a shop! Honesty: no. Dishonesty and corruption and dreadful customer service and customer experience: yes. Even more to the story . . which I will expose to the Adams County and Brighton BBBs, the Colorado Attorney General, the Colorado Secretary of State, Dexter Corporate, and others. Customers beware: I wouldn't go near Dun-Rite Trailers. It may be that staff beyond Mr. Carter are all honest workers - who knows?.
