to whom it may concern: Late January I brought my Tesla to the Rocklin dealership on Granite Drive. I had a litany of issues with the vehicle. I was about to leave my key fob with the service representative and she said, "Nope, we don't need those." Two days later I was called and asked if I could "Please bring the keys into the office, they can't upgrade your vehicle." Trip Two: Back to Tesla, give them keys. "Any other issues at this time?" Nope. Trip Three: all communication is strictly limited to the use of the 'Tesla' app. There is absolutely no option to verbally communicate with someone in the service department unless they have a. given you a private back extension or b. sneak in through the sales department, which they hate. The Tesla phone tree will absolutely not allow you to communicate in any other way besides using a text. 14 days later I receive notice that my car is ready. Apparently is was mostly due to an outdated LG 3 mode that required upgrading to a LG 5. They direct me to my vehicle, tell me the keys are in the glove compartment and if I have any questions, text them. They don't walk me to me car, where sure enough, at the end of the parking lot, there was no key in the glove box. They don't come back with me with the key fob to make sure it works, no, that's another trip back from the end of the parking lot. NOW he says 'Oh, sorry, we have to unlock it." Doesn't wait to see if it everything they were supposed to fix actually works, just walks back to office. Off I go home, and notice, "Hey, there's no sound coming from my radio! I just paid them 600$ for nothing!" Is there a number to call? Nope. Just a phone tree round and round. Back to the app: oops, that service visit is CLOSED. and therefore I CANNOT lodge a complaint or text in real time on that issue. I called sales office to get into service: "Uh oh, that's too bad that happened, sounds like you need to bring it back." The reason I brought the car in was because of no sound--why wouldn't you check that before releasing the vehicle? Trip four: brought back Tesla for full diagnostics, three days after it had been released from the service center. This time I was given a loaner Tesla. One week later they texted me that my car needed a new MCU and it was going to cost 2100$ and I needed to authorize it and they would install. "What's an MCU, I wrote back, you just installed something, and you haven't explained how this something is different from that something because I don't know what you're talking about!" So we go back and forth on text. I tell them I won't authorize anything until a human being calls me or leaves a call back number. Remember, I can't call them. I received and promptly responded to each text with the same response. I took photos of your repeated robo-generated texts. Finally almost two weeks later, someone calls and leaves a message on my phone. There is no number to call them back and they actually said 'Please use the app for all messages'. Apparently your technicians are unable to verbally communicate with customers? Trip five: Unable to contact a human being at the service center, I took time off from work and walked into to get an explanation. Ashley and Dominique were able to explain what was needed. It took all of ten minutes of an explanation. I informed them that most people don't want to authorize thousands of dollars of work via text. But that is out of their control. Trip six: A full three weeks later, I went Into pick up my Tesla. Again, no service technician came with me to the vehicle. Just keys in the glove box. No one to make sure the system was actually working. Off I go only to discover on the freeway they only left me with 27 miles of charge to get home. Couldn't go back to Tesla, too far, couldn't get home. So I'm in a Holiday Inn parking lot for 2 hours on a trickle charger just to get enough juice to get home. Then when I turn on the radio, STILL No Sound!! DID NO ONE EVEN CHECK TO SEE IF THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED? SERIOUSLY?? I tried the Tesla service app, but nope, they closed the service record and of course, as I explained before, there is no talking to a human. This time when I called sales, I got rerouted to Fremont sales because apparently there aren't enough sales reps in Rocklin to handle the volume. My vehicle has not been repaired. This has been 6 trips into the service center for this issue. I have canceled my credit card payment to Tesla until this issue is resolved. This is the poorest excuse for customer service I have ever encountered. This would be unacceptable at a Ford dealership but we're dealing with a supposedly high end product. read more

I bought a Tesla Model 3, 2023 from Rocklyn Tesla Dealership on Oct 16th, 2023. I paid the balance after loan approval on the same day to pick up the car. They confirmed the payment and delivered the car. After that they emailed me for a bouncing payment, I paid off immediately and paid off the loan and received a lien letter from the bank as well. No title received. When I called Rocklin showroom they advised me to contact CA DMV as they sent paperwork but not provided a tracking number that they have sent the documents to, they said it's in CA DMV, sometimes NV DMV and sometimes with a bank. When I called the CA DMV, they didn't receive any paperwork. When I called NV DMV and bank they said it should be with Rocklin only, it seems not processed yet they do not know at all. When I called back to the Rocklin showroom they rarely answered the phone, answered as if the CA DMV is not processing properly, contacting CA DMV only, asking me to wait a couple of months for the DMV to send it. I waited a couple of months. I called after a couple of months and they said the same story. I filed a strong complaint to CA DMV and when I told Rocklin Tesla that I complained to CA DMV then immediately responded and advised me to contact the Reno Tesla showroom for paperwork to sign as the DMV doesn't accept original paperwork to process titles. I went to Reno Tesla and I came to know exactly what had happened. Rocklin showroom sent paperwork to DMV initially but called off due to bouncing payment, even after receiving payment they didn't process paperwork and left it like that and misled me, it is in CA DMV and not picking up the phone, in addition their DMV team has refused to communicate with me. Gave me the wrong direction to contact CA DMV rather than contact Reno Tesla showroom has to process the paperwork since I registered a car in Reno, NV and failed to provide either Reno tesla showroom or NV DMV with titling paperwork. Due to the Rocklin Tesla dealer mis-handling/failure to process on time it caused a lot of stress and a lot of time wastage to me after paying $55,000. Finally received the title on 7th March. I received the title because I complained to DMV about the Rocklin Tesla Showroom. If no DMV there is no title at all forever, the $55,000 worth of car doesn't belong to anyone. Thanks to the DMV. If there are no higher authorities to involve and take action such types of things, no life to people in society. They called for money and they called for sales immediately but responsibility, no customer satisfaction and no proper management, no communication and nothing at all. We love our Tesla Model 3. It really is an amazing and beautiful vehicle, but we definitely overestimated the level of service we would receive from Tesla should any issues arrive. After our experience, we now feel as though Tesla really doesn't care about their customers because they know we have no choice but to come to them with issues, especially when they're software related. They don't need to work for our business, so they don't. We purchased our 3 in April 2019. In December, the car wouldn't update, so my husband made an appointment. We went out shopping one Saturday morning, and while we were inside, the car started updating. We called Tesla, and they said give it 2 hours. Incredibly inconvenient to be stranded at a store, but luckily, we live nearby and had a friend take me home so I could go back and pick up my 1 year old and husband. 2 hours passed, and we tried to get it, but it wasn't done. It wasn't until around 6PM that we finally got someone from Tesla to do help us with a hard restart - their service centers are closed on the weekends so it took a while to get someone. We finally get the car in and basically have to keep telling it NOT to update in order to be able to drive it. As I mentioned, the service center is not open on the weekends, so keep this in mind if you are considering purchasing. If you have to take your car in for whatever reason, please plan to have to use vacation or sick leave. Again, luckily, my husband does not have a traditional work week and so since he's off on Thursday and Friday, he was able to take it in for service. So after an hour of hanging out at the Tesla office with our 1 year old, they gave him a rental car. Again, super inconvenient to have to remove and install a car seat, but this is the first and last time, right? No big deal. Turns out there was a corrupted file that prevented the update from going through. They fixed it by the end of the day. When my husband went to get the car, they hadn't washed it or charged it. Just gave it back to us as is. This is where I started to get concerned about the sheer absence of customer service. We had all of these issues - through no fault of our own - and they couldn't be bothered to charge it or wash it? Typically, you get the best customer service when you take your car to the dealership. When I take our Nissan to get an oil change, they always wash it. It's part of their deal to keep you a satisfied customer. Then the January update fails. Having learned the first time, we prevent it from updating in fear that it will shut down and we won't be able to use it. My husband makes an appointment - and remember, if you have weekends off, you have to plan to take another day off to take it in to get serviced. A few weeks later, he takes it in, and receives the exact same level of "service." They charge the car this time - but probably only because they'd had it for 4 days. Didn't bother to wash it. Didn't say "Hey, sorry for the inconvenience, here's 50 free supercharging miles." And then another January update fails. Husband makes the appointment, goes in with our 1 year old. They don't want to give him a rental car because they'll be done with changing the computer in the car before the end of the day. They offer him an Uber credit - which would mean he'd have to install the car seat in the Uber drivers car or ride with her to Natomas without a car seat (and pay the difference because there is no way the Uber credit would have covered the price.) So I leave work to go get our kid. I spoke with someone in the service center and he legit did not understand why I was upset, and offered us nothing - not even an apology for the inconvenience. To add insult to injury, they tried to blame the entire issue on our internet service. They had to change the computer in the car, but our internet, which hadn't been a problem from April to December, was apparently the problem. When my husband got home with the car, it hadn't been washed or charged. After my complaint, they offered my husband an $100 Uber credit, but only if he had to bring the car in for service. For this reason, we are no longer considering getting the Model Y. We can excuse the car issues - these things happen, and Lemon Laws exist for this very reason. But we refuse to have two vehicles that may have to be serviced by a company with such a complete and utter lack of customer service. If you buy a Tesla, you're stuck with them, and they know it. They literally don't care about you and whatever issues their vehicles may cause because no matter how they treat you, you don't have a choice but to keep coming back. read more

When I first got my Model 3 in the fall of 2018 I thought the service with sensational. They delivered the car after I only had to wait a couple of weeks for it and they did some touch up paint after I had some chips on it pretty much right away. They can still do a lot of mobile repair work for the Model 3, which is great, and ahead my headlight replaced that way. However, they want to charge you $96 to rotate your tires when America's tire will do it for you free. Also, I need to get my windshield repaired from numerous chips and it will take 6 to 8 weeks to get a new windshield to the glass company my insurance company has been using. I do love the car itself and am grateful that I don't have to take it in more often for the servicing of oil filters and so on. The only problems I've had have been with the constant paint chipping even with the ceramic coat I got put on and the constant window chips and cracks. read more

We have had a reservation since Dec 26th 2017 and had been waiting for our model 3 performance for some time and were hoping to get a car before December 31, 2018 to be eligable for the 7,500 dollar federal tax credit, so after struggling to get a hold of multiple delivery specialist we'de been assigned previously with little luck we finally decide to go to the store on December 30, 2018 and after getting the run around by some of the people there that seemed to have very little time with the company we finally asked to speak to a manager and Peter was the person who helped us. Although this was not his department, he went out of his way to find a vehicle that matched our description in the area and helped set up an appointment for the next day delivery (new years eve) @ 12:15 pm for delivery. We showed up on the 31st as schedule thanks to Peter having helped us set up financing with Tesla a day before the delivery was hazzle free with Peter again crossing departments to help us. We just want to say thank you Peter for going the extra mile and because of this one experience that made everything better we will continue to be an advocate of Tesla. Thank you... read more

Purchased a used 2013 Model S85, drove it for 30K miles then after warranty expired car fails with numerous errors. Initial diagnosis was the drive unit, however while waiting for service computer shut down main battery and now I was getting cell imbalance errors. So it needs a new HV battery and possibility a drive unit. Car disintegrated right before my eyes. A new battery is 22.5K, drive unit another 6K for a car that is only worth 30K. Insane! Convinced Tesla cannot build a car that will last much past the warranty period. Finally experience dealing with service was horrific. They don't even have a phone at the service desk. You have to message them using the app and prey they respond. I had to make 3 personal visits to get the few answers I got. The would not disclose any diagnostic information, nothing. I will never ever buy a Tesla again. read more

The staff at this location are amazing, everyone I interacted with were very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. They were able to answer any questions that I had there and when even answered any follow up questions I had when I was at home. They made the whole process simple and easy. I came in on a Saturday for test drive and ended up ordering my car on the same day! It came in the same month not even two weeks later which was great. Picking up the car was very easy too, a bit of a wait but no big deal. Staff was courteous and responsive, offering useful tips and advice for paint care, helping me remove plates on my trade-in. I'm rating just the super chargers. This review has nothing to do with service or show room. We stopped here for the first time the other and loved it. Plenty of open stalls and it was well lit. Too bad the locate eateries were closed when we stopped by, but we took a short walk while the car charged for 20 minutes. The night crew let us use the restrooms during our visit which was really nice. I hope later on they can provide 24/7 vending machines for coffee and light snacks for purchase for customers who are charging during later hours of the evening. Just a thought... read more

Tesla makes some amazing cars. The service at this location is incredible. Ken is great at addressing all concerns and the service techs go above and beyond to make their customers happy. Their rental car policy is great--drop off your car for service and they will try to give you a Tesla loaner. If they don't have one they will give you a nice conventional car. Last time I chose an Infiniti coupe which was fun to drive (not like a Tesla but still good). You don't have to fill up the gas tank and they'll even reimburse you if a fill up is needed during longer services. read more

The Model 3 and the Reno salesperson who I dealt with were the only positive things about this buying experience. First, Rocklin emailed me and asked me to email them a copy of the lender's check--I DID. When I got there to accept the vehicle, the feature on the APP to accept was not there--FAIL! Next, the vehicle was not charged to at least 80%--FAIL! Third, I was asked to provide a hard copy of the lender's check even after I emailed it to them--FAIL! Then I was asked to provide a tracking number for the lender's check; why wasn't that information conveyed before I got there? Another Fail. This site is so overwhelmed with customers that the little things are not being taken care of. The staff was friendly. However, for a 50k vehicle, the overall service was UNSAT! 3 stars overall--mainly for the Model 3 and the salesman, Joseph Friedrich (Reno) who took great care of me. Reno Tesla--GREAT! Maybe buying a car from this dealership is a good experience but let me tell you some realities: I picked up my car here in Dec. I got a monitored 15 min tutorial on this very technological car. The manager even came over to remove our salesperson from the tutorial. Not nearly enough time. They leave it up to you to figure it all out. Not only that I didn't even get a full charge on my new Model 3 from this dealer when I drove it off the lot ( which cost $60,000.) May not be a big number to tesla but it was to me. there are no free supercharging on this Model not even one. Also make sure you are unplugged at a Supercharger the second you are charged up or Tesla charges you a idail fee of $1 per min. The customer service on Chat is terrible when you have complaints and negative opinions about the car. They abruptly end the chat with "Have a Great Day." Beware of the Mileage rating: You will never get the mileage rating unless you follow strict guidelines which are the "perfect conditions" which you know perfect is a pretty hard act to follow. The correct outdoor temp, don't use radio, don't use air conditioning or heater etc etc. Sometimes Supercharging goes quick 20 mins sometimes over an hour or more. Again they tell you ideal conditions. Sometimes you really have to plan your trip because of supercharger locations not enough out there. In My opinion when you spend this kinda money on this kinda car a free couple of superchargings would maybe put a smile on your face and it would be a nice gesture to do for your customers especially to those who get all the options on their Model 3. Extremely disappointed in the Rocklin Tesla. I made an online appointment to pick up my car and when I arrived it was not ready. The representative at the front desk, Rusty, chastised me for not answering their 3 phone calls that day regarding pick up. Why is there an online appointment scheduler then??? After waiting for 40 minutes, the car was ready, as they had to wash and charge it. A sales rep in a grey t-shirt and jeans helped orient me with my new car. Strange work attire for Tesla but whatever. I was super happy to drive away in my new car until the next day - my friend pointed out a chip in the paint. I called and asked to speak to a manager. At this point, I needed to vent. I told the manager, Jason, about my frustrations with Rusty and the online scheduling process. He listened and promised to make things better for future customers. I agreed to drive back to Rocklin to have Jason look at the chipped paint. I arrived there this evening and told Jason that I was also having trouble connecting my cell phone to the car. I can hear the person on the other line but they cannot hear me. (Not a volume, pairing, or mute issue) I told Jason about this and he told me the service center was closed and I would have to drive back to Rocklin during the week. I AGAIN expressed frustration about this process and he told me, "I live in Folsom and I get here everyday." Really glad you can manage YOUR commute to YOUR job. I do that too, dude. Tesla is supposed to be a dazzling company with dazzling products. I love my car but my image of Tesla is completely tarnished. read more

With their car prices from $50k to $150k. It would be fair to compare Tesla to Mercedes, BMW. Etc. with that said their faculty and far inferior to the other dealerships. If I could give less stars, I would. This place is just all around lacking, horrible and leaves much to be desired as far as service centers go. I have owned many brands of cars and have never received such poor customer service-EVER. I question if even they refer to it as a "service center" because it's more like "don't bother us". Start to finish - awful. The app. used to schedule service is strange and the subsequent, texting back and forth gets confusing. When I arrived at the Rocklin location, they don't even have the area, entry door labeled as service center and I walked around for a while trying to figure out where I was suppose to check in. When I finally opened a door and looked inside there were a bunch of monitors and what seemed to be the service center; except, no employees were in there. There were a few customers walking around and sitting in a waiting area but not a single employee. Then what looked like a mechanic came in from the repair garage. He helped the person in front of me and finally it was my turn. When I approached him he gave a big sigh even before I said a word. He didn't introduce himself, didn't ask how he could help, he just looked at me. I told him I had an appointment and why I was there. He proceeded to tell me that my issue would not be covered under warranty-although my car was still under warranty-BECAUSE, I took too long to bring the car back after the first repair which cause the issue and reason for this visit. The most entertaining conversation was when he couldn't tell me how long I DID HAVE, to bring it back after the original appointment but that it was too long. Again, I asked him what was the cut-off date that I COULD HAVE brought my car back in for an adjustment after repair and he said he didn't know-but he did know that I took too long. Hilarious. I ended up having to pay for the adjustment and it wasn't much, which I found even funnier, since you would think they would have just waved it; it was like $146.00. The person that helped me behind the desk was Christian. When Brandi, a customer service person called me the next day to follow up on my service, I told her it was awful in every way and that I was going to be writing my first ever BAD REVIEW; she asked me to rethink doing that. She was very nice but ineffective. As a Tesla owner, we don't have many choices for repair/service in our area, so we just have to grin and bear it in Rocklin. Over the weekend my husband, father in law, and myself went to this dealership to look at the new P100D with every intention to purchase not one but TWO vehicles. Unfortunately we were not even acknowledged and after 45 min of walking around the dealership giving them multiple opportunities to approach us we left. It's a shame that we felt as if we were being judged due to our attire (gym clothes). Tesla of rocklin I highly recommend you take a step back and learn to great every customer who walks through your doors with the upmost respect before you decide to pre judge your clientele. Pretty upset with Rocklin tesla right now.. they had my car for almost a month to replace the hv fuse pack, and instrument cluster. When I picked up my car, it was covered in dirt and dust.... that's not the part that made me most upset... when I got in my car i noticed the mcu screen was leaking behind the screen..this had to have happened when they replaced the cluster or left it in 100 degree heat the whole time.. regardless they failed to proactively address it, instead to make me notice it, then walk back in and schedule another appointment. They made it sound like the screen issue is normal but it wasn't leaking when I dropped it off, and they should have addressed it before calling me and telling me my car was ready... no wonder why Tesla has yet to turn a profit... every service order takes a month and then you end up having to schedule another appointment for anything not listed on the initial report... I would give them a zero star if it's available. My car is still under warranty. Every time I bring in my car for repair, something else go wrong. I let the minor issue go, but this one really bothers me. Brought our car in to get our window on front passenger side fixed coz it wouldn't roll up. After that was fixed, there was a big gap between the window and seal. Due to the gap, there is a loud wind noise. We brought the car back and their technicians said it's normal for the gap to exist because the seal is worn out. Seal is not under warranty. I parked my 10 plus Honda Pilot outside in the hot sun vs my Tesla in a garage and the seal is not worn out nor is there a gap where I can stick my finger through it. So, Tesla technicians are telling me that the material they used for their cars are inferior to Honda. We compared the driver and passenger window and noticed there is no gap on the driver side. The gap is very noticeable because I can stick my finger through the gap. I spoke to their manager, Donna and she said their technicians are experts and know what they are talking about. I took my car to an authorized Tesla mechanic and they told me yes, there is a gap and that Tesla expert technicians did not put the window back correctly thus the wind noise and my finger can fit through it that it's not a worn out seal as Tesla claimed. I went back and spoke to Donna, the manager and she told me they do not accept other mechanic's opinions. They have to refuse to fix the window gap but they will replace the seal for a fee because it's not under warranty. I said I don't want the seal replaced because that's not the issue here. I also have other minor issues with this place like when I get my car back from them, the interior of my car is scratched or ding here and there but didn't have any poof. The technicians and the manger at Rocklin Tesla is so unqualified, I feel sorry for Elon and Tesla owners. It's hard to find qualified workers. read more

If you are considering getting a Tesla - DON'T. The build quality on these cars will make you waste a lot of time. They have not made the cars any better. I have a model S that has given me soo much headache and wasted soo much time. The mobile technicians are a hit or miss. The Uber credits are a waste of time. It is impossible to get a person on the phone. You text, but the employees are sooooo busy, they do not respond. I don't know if it is this service center and sales center in particular, but this Rocklin service and mobile tech is very iffy. In addition, for a car to be built in such poor fashion, it is a crime. Go with another builder, or wait. There will be plenty better options out there. Cars that are built well. Tesla is definitely not there yet. All Elon wants to do is sell you on tech that is not here, so he can go to Mars and start a colony. read more

Having owned various other makes Audi, BMW, etc. my Tesla ownership experience has been the most frustrating. The vehicle is fantastic when it works, but as people may know Tesla build quality is ... questionable. This results in various little issues needing to be addressed by the service team. This in its own is horrible, but the cherry on top is getting hold of the service team. Long holds on the phone and speaking to a live individual is a challenge in itself. After various visits by mobile techs and trips to the service center since July 2018, my car still has issues. At this point I have given up fixing the issues and will just drive and likely sell my car once mainstream manufacturers release a comparable EV. I expected and was willing to handle hiccups with a new car company like Tesla. But the service offered in my opinion will not even suffice for $20k car nonetheless a $60k car. read more

I picked up a new car here since it was the closest to my home. Overall from the test drive to pickup I am left unimpressed with this dealerships customer service. For the price point associated with their cars they lack the luxury service provided by other dealerships. From my prior experiences all other dealerships provide better service than what I experienced here. I suppose they believe since they car can drive itself the car will just sell itself. read more

Made an online appointment to test drive Model3. Arrived - they had no record of the appt but informed us we could test drive as soon as another client returned with the car - est wait time 10 min. The car needed to be recharged so we waited a bit longer taking the opportunity to look over the interior. 40 min went by - enough already. Returned inside - place is deserted - no one home - the kids are out to lunch. Customer service severely lacking - I don't think they care. Glimpse of things to come if we went with Tesla. Moving on. Still has a little disorganized feel and service waiting room could use some more seating but the staff is great and I'm sure things will get worked out over time. Worst experience ever. I would like to start back in 2017 when I ordered the Tesla model 3 and put a down payment for $1000 , two years went by and I get a phone call from Tesla rep saying your car is ready and it's time to do a drive test , awesome I agreed on the day and the time which was @12 pm. Again I waited two years to drive my car !!! Went there and the people who work at this dealer ship don't know anything about customer service I doubt they even have heard this word before, don't know how to describe it but I felt like they are treating me like garbage entered their dealer ship so every time I remember the way they treated me and my wife and one year old baby makes me heat every car dealer ship in the world. So I drove all the way from Natoms to Rocklin which is about 48 minutes to get there @12 and I was told you have to wait an hour because we don't have enough cars we just sold the drive test cars last night which added more lies to their trouble customer heat service. I asked to talk to some one , Manager came out did not ask me what was the issue, I asked I would like to get my money back because I am now worry about my service in the future? He said yes you should I will refund you your money but will take 7 business days to get refunded , by the way it has been 23 days and I have not got the money yet. The car might be a great product so I waited 2 years for it but who ever work there needed to be moved to a job not related to face to face customers. read more

I have lost my patience with Tesla Motors... They used to have friendly customer service like Nordstrom, they have fallen back to something more along the lines of Comcast, not good right. My car has had too many issues for only being 1-year-old. Drive train, battery died and a few other minor issues. Today the car re-booted at least 10 times on the way to work then the seat belt warning tone sounded the entire 30-minutes ride. I called roadside service the guy was rude and basically told me if I wanted to it fixed he could open a case but not have it towed. So the crazy annoying tone and the re-booting I should be ok with to drive. Oh ya the driver door handle does not open/present today. Worst customer service experienced in a dealership or a showroom. We spent at least 15 minutes looking at the model S. Nobody acknowledged us at all. And there were multiple people that could have done that. We were dressed okay. And we were actually genuinely interested in the car as we are looking to replace my Lexus IS. Badly played! read more
