Not a fan of the co-op down the road this is the best place to get produce, eggs, meat and just about most things you can think of to fill your fridge and cupboard. The upstairs even has large freezers with ice cream and baked goods, and more meat. The people are very friendly and everything is quite affordable. I am so happy to be able to support my local farmer. They'll soon be starting a delivery service as well!

My husband was able to find whole oats here (called Jumbo Oats) which he couldn't find in any of the major grocery stores. The meat prices are extremely good especially for being so fresh and local, and the frozen meats are a super bargain! We bought some just-picked seasonal strawberries yesterday and they were amazingly delicious. We still need to get some things at a bigger store like some familiar national/international brands or particular varieties of groceries, but Radmore Farm Shop is definitely our new place to walk for fruit, veg, and meat. It's perfect for those "What are we going to have for dinner" afternoons because I can grab meat, onions, mushrooms, and whatever veg suits and cook something up fast. We are definite fans and plan to shop here routinely while we're in town.

I have visited this Sainsbury's several times and have always found it a little strange. The clothes here are usually quite nice, and there is usually a sales rack. I have enjoyed browsing the rails for bargains. However, the food shopping i have found very difficult. It is near impossible to find your way to the items you want. Most trips I have got frustrated halfway around and returned home with only half the items that I want. They do not seem to stock as wide a variety of brands as other supermarkets i have frequented. All in all, worth a visit, and i'm sure that if you visit several times and persevere with the food shopping then you would be able to find your way around.

It's not a huge store, but helpfully it's open 24 hours a day, although you do have to fight your way round the shelf stackers at night. Generally it's pretty well stocked, apart from the odd days around the major holidays where you can find the shelves dreadfully empty. There's a pharmacy, which I've never used, a Tesco Direct counter which works just as it should. The photo shop is always having their machine break down but when it's running the service is actually very good. A word of warning, there's a café tucked away upstairs at the far right of the shop, very easy to miss. I would definitely give it a miss, the breakfast is truly disgusting, and the coffee machine seems to be out of order whenever I go there. It's clean and tidy though.

One of the reasons I deducted one star is because one of the female cashiers came off as being rude. She said, "If you want a bag, you should've said so" with so much spite. What in the world was going on in her life that she had to take it out on a customer? Meanwhile, on the other spectrum, her coworkers went out of their way trying to help me find shelf stable milk since my hotel didn't have a fridge. So pros: convenient, helps save some money, some of the employees go out of their way to be helpful. Cons: At least one female cashier needs to be spoken to by management about how she talks to customers.

The US really needs to get onboard with this prepacked sandwich/wrap/sub/salad/pasta (that are relatively healthy) plus a snack and beverage for $5. It was very busy inside with what I imagine was mostly the regular weekday comminutors. There are many self-checkouts so the line went fast. Advice for visitors: like the vast majority of stores in the UK, make sure you bring your own bag or you will be charged for one.

A huge organic selection. A whole shelf of tea. Fantastic ethnic cooking section chock full of sauces, ingredients, grains, rices, beans and any element you probably need, spices, decent bakery with breads, rolls, pitas, etc. Eggs and dairy, beer, wine, a lot of coconut water, and a fresh produce section (outside) which is standard, but nice to have. Things you won't find: fresh meats or fish. Par for the course! The family that runs it is very friendly as well (always so polite!) and I always leave feeling quite good about supporting a local food shop that is not only convenient, but tucked away from the madness of the Old Street roundabout. Also, English grocery stores aren't laid out the same. For example cookies might be in multiple locations rather than one designated "cookie aisle." Also it was interesting because you had to pay for a shopping cart. They did have a limited number of hand baskets. If they ran out of hand baskets, people would use the bags they brought and add there items into the bags. Then remove them when they got to the counter. It was nice because there weren't long lines, and they had a lot more self-serve kiosks than my local American grocery store.

The family and I were vacationing in South Kensington and this store was ideally located. It's a grocery store that has all the essentials... and more. Item selection for things (particularly vegetables and fruits) seems a little sparse. But admittedly I'm a tourist so perhaps that's expected for the area, climate, and time of year. Checkout is slightly disorganized (again, probably a "tourist ignorance" thing). Recyclable bags are available for pickup on a rail while walking through self-checkout. There's an automated gate that requires a receipt barcode to be scanned before exit is permitted. Ultimately I think this is a store that's 90% grocery store and 10% variety store. The range of goods is quite limited, particularly free range and organic goods and this is an area where it could be greatly improved and I am sure would encourage more people to shop there, particularly bearing in mind the location, great Dunmow is quite an affluent town. The store is clean and tidy and layout is sensible and seems well managed. Tills are often left un used however, in when very busy only two or three checkout staff seem to be working. On the whole i would have to say 'could do better' which is a shame as i for one would much rather give my business to Co op than Tescoits rival just down the road!
