A nice benefit is that while you're shopping, they're playing slamming music sometimes. One time I liked the tune so much I dared ask for the name of the CD. The checkout clerk unsmilingly wrote it down for me, told me where to buy it (further down the street on Brick Lane); he definitely hooked me up! (another time I ended up buying a car here too, but that's a story for another time and place!)

For those who know what these are: Taj stocks Maggi hot & sour masala chilli sauce, Roohafza & fresh curry leaves (almost impossible to find anywhere in central London) Its a sprawling store with huge variety & great prices. They have fresh fruits & vegetables too. Plenty of namkin, spice pastes, pickles, variety of dhal & rice. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

But today sadly Sainsburys has reduced the tills and installed self serve tills. I really dislike this and that is why I gave up with Asda. A very bad choice made. I like to be served, call me old fashioned but it makes the whole experience better. I will seriously have to rethink now where I do my weekly shop.

I think it's MARVELLOUS that Tesco®, in Borehamwood, is GIVING AWAY some of their Sunday trading…read morebusiness to Lidl®, Aldi®, B&M®, Farm Foods® and Morrisons®, etc. For example, their new rule TODAY (Sunday 21st Sept 2025), is that NO trolleys, not even the shallow ones, are allowed in the Store after 3:25pm, so the elderly, infirm, or people with weak legs or, like me, have a bad back, who rely on them for support, have been generously redirected to use the main rival local supermarket businesses instead. Tesco® clearly DO NOT need all THAT money OR the peoples' loyal custom, so "they" are helping the OTHER stores in the town by giving away a fair amount of business trading. And a BIG plus; I spent barely a third of what my similar shopping normally costs in Tesco®, so that has instantly CHANGED my shopping habits, with a huge win for my savings. I imagine it has helped ALL the other customers who walked away today, equally shocked and disgusted with their betrayed loyalty to a store that shows CONTEMPT and DISREGARD to the shoppers that helped establish its business.

I had not been in a UK supermarket for 14 years and I have to say they have changed. It reminded me of a french hypermarket, very plain and boring inside with just shelves of food. What happened to the well presented nicely displayed merchandise. I guess times have changed and Tescos is too busy with volume to warrant spending the time on presentation and repair. Cheap goods placed on shelves. Thats what you will find here. Confusing one way car park, and dont forget your pound coins for the trolleys! Still there's always Morrisons!

It is a joy to live near by, open 365 days of the year, 8am to 10pm without fail. Organic vegetables, tomatoes bursting with colour and flavour. They have a large delicatessen where they have a large selection of olives, Halal meats and cheeses , and make their own Turkish bread on site too. It all has a lovely smell of when you walk in. They have absolutely everything that a Turksih Chef would need. My family shop here virtually everyday to get bread and other certain thing they might need for whatever is being cooked. For quantity, it is by no means competition for any large supermarket chains, but as for quality, it definitely is. It is a regular for me.

The store is convenient, so it does have all the essentials. Its got the "food to go" bit for the grab something for lunch crowd, plus it also has a Costa coffee machine and they sell flowers also they have some ethnic foods which they managed to squeeze in. The offers are good as well, placed cleverly when you enter in, whether that's Alcohol or Junk food. Their customer service is so so, but they get the job done. It's my local so I'm always in here.

It's busy Christmas and they saved me shopping. Excellent. Merry Christmas and I hope the staff enjoy the rest. They deserve it.

Ranges are more for quality than turnover. The store is convenient on the edge of town, parking is fewer than a hundred spaces. The store is small but has a good range of fresh and frozen food. You can pick up a good wine or whiskey too. For standard drinks, cereal, biscuits, etc. I would go somewhere cheaper.

The service is where I have to have a gripe. I prefer going to a check out and having a cashier scan my items. I do not like self-service at all. sometimes I will visit the store and there are no cashiers, so i am forced to go to a self-service to scan my shopping, i have real issues with doing this, as i not only have arthritis in my hand but have a poor eye-sight. This week, no cashiers again and so I was once again forced to scan items. Fortunately, for me one of the shop assistants, Tizi helped me, she was kind, professional and efficient, very pleasant lady. Last week, there was one till open and the queue of customers was long. There was team leaders/supervisors standing around chatted and when I asked for another till to be opened, she was abrupt and pointed to the self-service and said one of those is free, without even looking me in the eye. How rude! That is my only gripe with Sainsbury in the Parade. I will sign off with being positive about the shop assistant who was very helpful. Thank you Tizi.

The food on offer and the merchandising has been done VERY well and the offers are nicely spread out. I like it here and would automatically go back if given the chance. I'm not giving it a perfect score because it's location is just so poor. The main entrance is off a small side road and the car park is too restrcitive to make a decent enough turnover. Just not quite there yet!
