Tesco Extra store, not as big as some, never really liked this store for some reason, the car park is awful (although that can be said for most Tescos) Was Ok in the days of R&R, the overcharging still continues to this day read more

Using my sat nav just to try find a grocery shop and I passed budgens and as I was trying to find a safe place to turn around I happen to find Tesco which to my delight had a big car park which was sign posted very well! So I got a great spot next to the entrance and at first grabbed a basket as I knew this was a small store but just going down one aisle I then decided I needed a trolley as there was more items you can get through this store! I ended up doing my whole weekend shopping which was great for me as I didn't have to venture anywhere else and the queues for the till was very short and staff were very friendly!

Due to it's location in Calais this place is popular amongst people who want to get alcohol at a cheaper price than in the UK. Many of the staff speak English well enough to help you if you don't speak much French, and are most polite about it, (I once had someone try to insult me there in English, so I responded by insulting him in French, then he showed me what I was looking for, so it could be a sport there, heh).

It's just scarrry how consumers are being treated, [maybe this is the way and I'm just spoiled from the states, lol]. The fruit and vegetables in this branch of Lidl are always fresh and reasonably priced. I have heard that Lidl is one of the few supermarkets that have daily deliveries of fresh vegetables rather than storing them for days before selling them. Not everything in Lidl is much cheaper than Tesco or Asda (although it all looks cheaper) but you can find some bargains if you look for them. I love Lidl's stuffed olives, feta cheese and cheesy coleslaw. Lidl also do some nice own brand Jaffa cakes. I have made some bad buys here as well though, buying products I don't need or buying cakes or biscuits that look better than they taste.

Be prepared for overpriced food, highly-variable (and unpredictable) hours, and the company of people wearing suits. 2. This place. It's not the best Tesco Express I've seen. They have a rather small selection of ready-to-go meals, and I think they only get one delivery of pastries per day. But they're open early, they're open late, and their prices are good, in spite of being the only food option for the numerous hotels and upscale residential developments that have gone up nearby. Go Tesco!

You need to pay for parking in this store but can get your money back when you pay for your goods. Also, you will need £1 for the trolleys. This is a very busy store so is a bit too busy for me in peake hours. However, they are open 24 hours so I tend to go later in the evening when the children are in bed (Husband is at home of course).
