Mismatched chairs, harsh fluorescence lighting and eating amongst the storage. You get to sit at counter or tables and watch your food being prepared and the dishes being washed. Both guys are very nice..but NOT brothers! morning If you want to get a taste to Korean. Ok, they use gochujang (I call this Korean spicy ketchup. ) I ordered bibimbop as was recommended by the cook. My fried egg was over cooked as I think requesting a runny egg was lost in translation and he gave me a fried YOLK egg. Cooked all the way. The ban Chan mixture of different Korean veggies was just okay. I miss a good ole fermented or spicy versions of kimchee. Also, I thought the rice became too mushy and some bits of the thinly slice beef was too tough or inedible. I did decide to get the chicken wings and was recommended the dakganjeong ( Korean sweet chili spices) wings. (I asked for extra chili powder on side to make more spicy...given on request). I did like the chicken wings. Nice crispy crust. Just not spicy enough with using gochujang they are serving. Would I stop by again... maybe for the wings.

Don't judge a book by its cover. This place might be a hole in the wall, but it is off the hook!…read moreThe restaurant is inside a Korean grocery store, so it's easy to miss. Not enough seating area, so you'd be lucky if you can get a table. My friends brought me here because they said it was good, so I decided to try it. My friend Marvin got the Mussel soup, and it was huge! I tried a little bit of it, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Dosirak, and it was pretty good. I didn't eat the rice though, nor the little dessert that came with it. I only ate the Salmon, Soup, and Veggies and still filled me up! Very satisfying dinner.

With just a few small tables and chairs outside, the standing room only interior is a picture of economy. These were my first impressions as customers steadily streamed inside to place orders and then leave to wait for their sandwich or sit a bit. My eyes locked into the pastrami melt sandwich on the menu and I waited my turn, albeit a bit nervously, to place my order with one of the three gents who were slinging the sandwiches. All the ingredients in the deli case looked fresh, from the lettuce, meats, cheese, etc, to the types of bead on top of the case, like the focaccia. Each sandwich is made fresh, and once assembled, is pressed to warm the roll and melt the cheese. My pastrami melt arrived loaded with the meat, and all the ingredients enhanced by the deli mustard made for a great tasting sandwich. It's probably the best pastrami sandwich I've tasted in a long while. Every employee was patient and helpful, and I found this to be quite an effort since customers kept placing orders without much of a break. The Pig & Heifer is definitely worth a repeat visit.

Can I just say that in Ireland there are so many grocery stores it is amazing. I only went in there…read moreto see if they had coffee, which they do, but it's not the correct coffee that I needed. I also wanted to see if they had creamer, that didn't work out as well either. But while I was in there, I could not believe my eyes. The bread, the food, the alcohol, the toys, etc. how much cheaper everything was! I was in there for about an hour and could not believe that here in America we spend so much more on food than what is really needed. The convenience of having so many grocery stores everywhere was also great. What was interesting is that you walk through a barrier with a security guard do your shopping, and then you go to an automated checkout. To walk out of the barrier you have to scan your receipt. It's pretty convenient and I see now here in America Safeway specially in some areas they have come to the same exact process. Well, I walked in there to get coffee, I ended up getting a baguette cheese, meat, cream, cream cheese, coffee, smoked salmon, and a few other items and let me tell you it was delicious. The workers there are not that friendly, and if you want to buy alcohol, you have to do it at 10:30 AM. The store was very clean compared to some stores here in America and there was a lot to choose from.

This LIDL is clean, decently stocked and nicely priced. The grab-and-go food was pretty well picked over this afternoon but I found a sandwich triangle as well as some candies (some of which might survive the journey and go into my suitcase home) and a very inexpensive bottle of sparkling water. Self-checkout worked fine and I don't need a bag since I have my backpack. Easy, pleasy. [Review 1840 of 2024 - 96 in Republic of Ireland - 22862 overall]
