This so called 'convenience shop' is a joke. Today was my 18th birthday and I went into the shop to…read morebuy a vape and got refused. Had two forms of valid ID and still got refused because they aren't allowed to sell the products, as apparently you have to be 18 plus a day. Apparently, on your birthday clearly doesn't count you being 18. The law states you have to be 18 to buy alcohol/cigarettes etc etc. However he clearly thinks he knows the law much better, while laughing in my face. I was previously in Tesco before this incident and I got asked for ID, to which I provided and got served, no problems. I even showed this incompetent business the receipts from Tesco's, to which he replied, "they don't know the law, they must of overlooked it". To me, an 18 year old young adult, this makes no sense. But obviously makes the world of sense to this 60 year old man. Personally, he looks very silly to me and I'm sure he does to anyone else with a brain. I would avoid this shop like the plague unless you like confrontation with a brick wall who can't be reasoned with
