I had visited several locations while in London and they are all laid out roughly the same, making it easy to find what you need. They are slightly cheaper than posh smaller markets, but it is a standard chain grocery store, so quality is a little less for meat, fruit, veggies, etc. There are quite a few around London and its outskirts, so never had an issue while visiting, which is great. All and all, I overall was quite happy with my visits.

There are random boxes strewn about the store and the security guard watches everybody like they're stealing something. I was visiting from USA so I just wanted to find some "British" treats to take home... Chocolates, chips, stuff like that... They had a decent variety of those types of things but otherwise this would be a store if you were in a pinch and needed a quick snack and that's about it. There's an M & S store right around the corner at the entrance to the train station that's much cleaner and nicer and has more options plus the same thing.

But there is more to this shop than it's handy location (near Chinatown on Shaftesbury Avenue). Check-out their window displays...this is pop-tart central! For a tiny shop, Crispins has a ridiculously large selection of treats imported from the US (pop-tarts, brownie mixes, pancake mixes, runts, mini reese's peanut butter cups and yes Brach's candy corn). Candy corn is not so easy to come by in London, so the fact that they have some and at a semi-reasonable price ( £1.99/bag), this shop is clearly 4 stars in my book.

Owners deceive and lie. The shop is a listed EVRI shop and they pocket an EVRI fee and pretend to…read morebe an EVRI shop but they regularly refuse EVRI parcels to any customers dropping off. I am aware as I live nearby and have seen this happen over many months. They lie and say machine isn't working (even when it does as I've used the machine). They tell parcel owners to go elsewhere to drop off packages as they refuse to accept. They likely pocket a monthly fee for pretending to accept EVRI packages, so this is fraudulent behavior.

To be honest by the time I made it this far to purchase a bottled water I didn't expect much more. If you time it right, you can catch a fair amount of food reduced after lunch, for example a hot beef baguette down to a pound, making this the unbeatable of cheap eats for a work lunch collection. Its also very close to Charing Cross and its tube station, if you are on the way to catch a train, and want to grab something quick and cheap.

Compared to America, everything in the store was very well-priced and I was elated to find an entire gluten free aisle to shop from. I literally was a kid in a (GF) candy store haha. The image is from a slight afternoon haul where I was craving some snacks. The GF bread had many nutritious seeds and came in handy throughout my stay. I have been missing the GF jam tarts and Bakewells every day and cannot wait to indulge once I return to the UK. It was so hard to believe that the baked goods were not only GF but were also milk free! Although Sainsbury's is a convenience store, it still deserves the praise on here for any future shoppers from near or far.
