Whenever I am queuing with my pint of milk, one of the staff will ask the following - how is the family/how is business/how is the love life? (answer; great/ok/not so great). Because my name is Cari, one of the guys would give me DVDs of Carry on films when I came in. Cari -Carry -geddit? So, apart from the great owners, for a convenience store, it is pretty comprehensive. If you want fancy veg or a cheese with a French name, I would get thee to Tescos', but this is great for booze, sweets and snacks,and all those non fancy essentials. There is also a coffee and sandwich corner in part of the shop. The food is done by the next door cafe, 5 At The Bridge, so its good.

They sell a small range of convience store food, like cheese, hams, noodles, etc etc. They also do great deals on beer and wine. They offer local store deals like 6 premium lagers in cans like Stella Artois for a fiver. You are always quickly served in this store and I have even bartered before when I have been short on cash. This independent store is great. I would recommend if you are arriving in this area for a party that you save getting a bottle or two until you get here. Don't expect the prices to compare favourably with your regular supermarket, you'll have to be prepared to shell out a premium for the convenience. I found the dust laden shelves a little off-putting but if I were in desperate need of a well-packaged, 'essential' ingredient and could allay hygiene priorities, I'd bear this shop in mind

The selection on the whole is pretty good, though the lack of fresh groceries makes it not much more than a place to grab munchies and a drink or two. Tobacco, lotto and scratch cards are also readily available, and its central location makes it convenient. There is not much to speak of service-wise at Lavi convenience store. Not much recognition is awarded to regular customers (I've been going for a while) and on the odd occasion one will wait for the shop keeper to finish chatting with his mates before getting served. Certain prices are also exorbitant: in particular blank CDs and most of the sweet shelf. It's unfortunate that this small, well-positioned convenience store doesn't have that all important word 'family' attached to it.
