Since the pharmacy in town was already closed, my host volunteered the local Sainsbury as the stop on our way back from the pub. Sainsbury is the equivalent of a Safeway here in the states. They are a local chain serving the suburban families out away from the hustle and bustle of London. I found the allergy medicine that I required in addition to a fabulous type of toothpaste called Cordosyl (3 pounds each). Checkout was perfect since they had self-service instated. The parking lot here is large and clean and it is only a short jaunt away from the row of shops along the street. Thank you, Sainsburys!

It has a good selection of food as well as a surprisingly large choice of homeware and clothing. There is a dry cleaners within the store as well as a Starbucks coffee shop. The Starbucks is a nice place to stop before or after doing your shopping and you always seem to be able to get a seat. It has a cash machine and is only a short walk from the shops of Beaconsfield new town.

My favourite is the pasta salad bar because it's yummy and good value for money. They also have loads of fresh fruit and veg, a fish counter, bakery and a deli. After some time, when she checked products on the top, she started putting the food on the floor!!!!!! Absolutely terrible service!…read more I bought some biscuits off a reduced stand on Aisle 24 on 5th July, the whole stand was clearly labelled with reduced biscuits some were 50p and some were 60p. When I got home I checked my receipt and I had been charged £1.99 for each of them? I went back to customer services the next day 7th July and a very nice helpful Asian lady served me. She contacted the person working on aisle 24. An extremely rude little Asian man who was working on aisle 24 actually raised his voice and said that there were no biscuits reduced and that all his labels were correct. I can't believe how ASDA recruits such rude people!!!.

There is also a small section with magazine and newspapers. They also sell some gift type things, like tins of biscuits or boxes of chocolate and there is also a stand of flowers. The food section isn't that big, but is good enough for grabbing a nice dinner, or picking up a few basics. I mainly go here when they are doing their meal for two for £10, which is really reasonable, you get a main course (anything from Lasagne to Roast Chicken), a side dish (things like roasted veg or potatoes) a dessert (yummy chocolate puddings of lemon soufflé) and a bottle of wine. It really is a great treat and very reasonable.

There are usually lots of dips and sandwich fillers, and also pre-packed sandwiches if you want to grab some lunch. There is a good range of meat and ready made meals, although I have found their fish section quite rubbish (they had no smoked salmon around Christmas!?). There are also lot of cupboard basics and a little freezer section. And there is also a good variety of alcohol.

It's not a vast as other supermarkets in the area but they do tend to have some good offers. Although I love it, it is small, much smaller than the other supermarkets in the surrounding area and it is starting to look very tired and dated. That said the staff are very helpful and friendly.
