Very disappointed that Chelmsford, Tesco in Springfield Road has stopped selling some of their own…read morebrands. Such as Vermouth, Extra Dry, etc, the alternative costs at least £3.00 more. So, instead I go to Sainsburys in Chelmsford to but this and this means that I end up buying my big shop at Sainsburys. A bad decision by Tesco I think.

The ranges of goods, particularly organic choices, are very poor too and i often have to 'chase' a member of staff around the store to enquire as to whether or not they stock a particular item! Upstairs holds a good range of childrens clothes but as there is only one (incredibly slow) lift for use with buggies and for shop syaff with trolleys, it takes an age to try to get up there! All in all a very dissapointing store!

There are cash points outside. This store sells everything you would expect from Tesco's but also offers clothes, toys, luggage etc. The store is well laid out. The isles are spacious and there is plenty of room to maneuver your trolley. The food is well presented and fresh. There is also a nice deli counter, where the staff serving you are clean, polite and helpful. The shelves are regularly stocked and if you ask any of the floor staff where an item is they are happy to show/advise you. The prices are very reasonable and there are always excellent deals on there products. They have a good sized restaurant/coffee shop with a varied menu, which is reasonably priced.

There is often a great deal on at weekends known as 'dine in for £10' where you get mains, side, dessert and wine all for just a tenner! You end up saving a good bit of money on this offer. I would recommend the sticky toffee pudding, it is literally mouth watering! The bakery section is great too, the muffins are really moist, and the cookies are really sweet and yummy! I wouldnt say there bread is that special, better off going to another baker on the high street. It got really busy at christmas so at special times of the year I would recommend geting in early so there is plenty of stock left and roon to breathe!

It is a relatively small supermarket with very narrow aisles which can get quite congested during the holiday season. It has long opening hours but always seems busy even in the evening. Often all 3 tills are in use. I would say however that the range of food is very good. Fair trade products being a strength of the Co-op chain. I think you can buy most of what you need if you are self-catering in the area and the nearest large supermarket is quite a way away. It is more expensive than a low cost supermarket but not particularly so. I would recommend this shop if self catering in the area. Its a cheaper option than eating out.

It has a huge…read moreselection of food and drink, but be warned it is the only store in the village that sells everything so it does seem to run out of bread by teatime the next closest store is Tesco which is seven miles away. They have a hot deli counter selling fresh cooked chickens and hot meat and pies and also a deli counter selling cooked meets and cheese. They have a big range of beer wines and spirits. The staff are chatty and will help if you ask them for help, but don't expect them to find anything that isn't on the shelf (I think they keep a very limited stock). Not the cheapest place to shop but for a few bits its ideal.
