Had this guy order what was suppose to be new parts for my Honda VTX 1300 headlight housing and…read morerim. He did get the part and installed the headlight as asked. However when I went to pick up the bike he told me the new headlight chrome rim had a defect. He said they had tried to polish it out. However that did not help, as it was just a badly chrome job and too deep. The owner David said he was going out of town. So I took the bike home. Several weeks later, once he was back in town, I called and asked if he could send the chome headlight ring back and get a replacement. He got upset and complained about not wanting to work on it again. I told him I would remove it and just needed the invoice and box to return it. He should not have even put the defective rim on it to start with. He should have called me and told me what happened and that it would take longer to replace it. It cost me over $30.00 and I'll probably have to spend another $30.00 to replace it. I would not recommend this guy to anyone as it's clear he doesn't care about keeping his customers happy.

We found cheaper scooters and the value was not there. The care and time he took was as good as you can get. Mike set out first service appointment now for when the bikes reach the inspection period. Don't know whether it's the large overhead that causes him to treat you like a dollar sign rather than a valued customer, but let's proceed. I have a 2013 GMW R1 that was purchased at this store. It has been the only place the previous owner and I have ever brought it for repairs, so all in all this guy has gotten decent business from us. Every single time, though, Mike has to talk in a condescending manner. I'd bring the bike in to get the valves adjusted, which is a normal thing, considering it was my only means of transportation. He always phrased it so I thought I was doing something wrong and then he'd charge me $90+ for something I'm later finding out is a 15 min fix tops! Not even this is the biggest issue, though. So he goes away for a few weeks to Canada, closing the shop down. The valves need to be adjusted. So I learn how to do them myself. Get this, the bottom valve adjuster had the nut forced on and rethreaded so the whole thing had to be taken out, and continued to be rethreaded it to adjust it. Not cool, but it worked. Super simple process, but I made the mistake of not tightening down one of the nuts enough, so it came loose and got lost. Hoping to buy one from him or maybe get some help identifying the size, I call Mike. He starts belittling me for working on my own bike. He starts going on about how he doesn't have the time to look up a five dollar part. I mention how the bottom valve's nut had been forced on and rethreaded, and he loses it. He sounds very nervous and starts talking in a super quick pace telling me that it wasn't him and sorry he can't help me. Blown away, I searched for other places that could help me out. Luckily the people up at Scooter Shack in North Port took the time out of their day to not only identify the part, but order it online, and mail it to me when they got it. The lady was absolutely patient, understanding and worked with me the whole way through. Oh, and come to find out they do full service tune ups (valve adjustment, full oil change, air check, etc) for the same price it takes to get your valves adjusted at Harbor Scooters. Never going back to Mike's.
