I created an account just to tell you how disgusted I am with the poor service and all around attitude of Mike at Harbor Scooters. Don't know whether it's the large overhead that causes him to treat you like a dollar sign rather than a valued customer, but let's proceed. I have a 2013 GMW R1 that was purchased at this store. It has been the only place the previous owner and I have ever brought it for repairs, so all in all this guy has gotten decent business from us. Every single time, though, Mike has to talk in a condescending manner. I'd bring the bike in to get the valves adjusted, which is a normal thing, considering it was my only means of transportation. He always phrased it so I thought I was doing something wrong and then he'd charge me $90+ for something I'm later finding out is a 15 min fix tops! Not even this is the biggest issue, though. So he goes away for a few weeks to Canada, closing the shop down. The valves need to be adjusted. So I learn how to do them myself. Get this, the bottom valve adjuster had the nut forced on and rethreaded so the whole thing had to be taken out, and continued to be rethreaded it to adjust it. Not cool, but it worked. Super simple process, but I made the mistake of not tightening down one of the nuts enough, so it came loose and got lost. Hoping to buy one from him or maybe get some help identifying the size, I call Mike. He starts belittling me for working on my own bike. He starts going on about how he doesn't have the time to look up a five dollar part. I mention how the bottom valve's nut had been forced on and rethreaded, and he loses it. He sounds very nervous and starts talking in a super quick pace telling me that it wasn't him and sorry he can't help me. Blown away, I searched for other places that could help me out. Luckily the people up at Scooter Shack in North Port took the time out of their day to not only identify the part, but order it online, and mail it to me when they got it. The lady was absolutely patient, understanding and worked with me the whole way through. Oh, and come to find out they do full service tune ups (valve adjustment, full oil change, air check, etc) for the same price it takes to get your valves adjusted at Harbor Scooters. Emailed Harbor Scooters to inquire on service for my scooter. Mike responded promptly, came and picked up my scooter and went over the whole scooter with me present. I ended up trading it in and Mike gave me a great deal on a new Sym scooter. I highly recommend Harbor Scooters if you are at all interested and he takes the time for you no matter what he is doing. read more

This is by far one of the best businesses I have dealt with since living in swfl . I bought 2 scooters at a diffrent scooter place in North Port . What a huge mistake . The service was horrible and the owner never returned my calls and screwed my over on my warranty . Well it all turned out great cause now I met Micheal . He was super nice , felt bad for what happened to me and even gave me some parts at almost cost . This place is the best scooter shop in the area . I have been there twice in 2 days since the scooters from the other place needed repair . Now with a new fuel filter and battery im up and running again . Hope this review helps you . read more

I was practically kicked out of the shop by the owner who told me "this is America and I'll serve who I want- take your fucking business elsewhere"- Back in late June I had the owner Mike look into fixing the starter on my 49cc scooter. Basic and simple job. Since I was going away for a few weeks I also had him do the oil, plug and give it a valve adjustment. I paid $214.77 for the service. Keep in mind, I only paid $175 for the scooter last year. Well, I picked it up and it started fine but when I got home the starter button was completely dead. I was pressed for time to bring it back so called him up and he said bring it back in after vacation. I had to unfortunately leave the scooter behind on vacation which sucked for my kids. Well today I brought it in and he basically said go fuck yourself and I don't like your attitude! We fixed that scooter and I'm not looking at it again. He didn't even want to hear me out- I don't know if anyone else has had issues here before but I would have cracked him one if he wasn't so old! I am going to do a BBB complaint and horrible Yelp review but what a prick! Beware of getting service at Harbor Scooter! He doesn't stand behind his work and is a total asshole when it comes to his customers!! And yes Mike you know who I am! when looking for a scooter for my adult daughter we stopped here to check some out, while not finding one in our price range we got some great advise and a met a new friend, months later when the scooter we did get stopped running we came back and got the help we needed, and the price was right, he recognized some of his parts already on the scooter and found the problem and had it fixed in one day.
