I see this bakery all the time but never took the time to check it out until recently. The bakery was fairly busy because of an event going on off third ave and so there was a line going outside the door. I picked out several pastries to try like the ham and cheese, guava pastry, almond croissant and the egg and chorizo croissant to go. I was able to get all the pastries right away except the egg and chorizo croissant which was made to order. I probably waited 20 mins. The almond and guava pastry tasted good. But I thought the ham and cheese was a little too crunchy and hard to eat. The egg and chorizo croissant seemed to have a minimal amount of chorizo. This was my first time at Terzo, but I'd go back to try their other goodies. Their dessert items looked really good and their had an interesting drink menu.

I heard they bake their on coffee cakes at this bakery, so I stopped in to try them. My first impression was that they were of very good size and looked good, but more like muffin than a slice of coffee cake. The coffee cake did not have that traditional brown sugar crumb on top which I missed. The cake was soft and moist and had a good cinnamon strip inside the coffee cake. It was nice to eat, but in the end, I missed the texture from the crumb on top and it needed more cinnamon flavor. They would go from good to great if they had that crumb on top. They offer a lot of pastries and baked goods at this baker, not to mention cakes and coffee products as well. The service was friendly enough. There's inside and outside seating.

I looked this bakery up for chocolate cake and Terzo came up. I was helped by young girl really nice She went in the back to ask if I could have the cake by Saturday morning A lady came and said sure what time 8:30am Yes. So got Almond Croissant, a Guava Cheese Cake, blueberry scone, fruit tart. Plus double Chocolate Cake Strawberries. I have to say OMG!! the Almond Croissant is the best I ever had. That has such a intense FLAVOR!! It has a great amount of Almond paste. But it's so delicious it's unbelievable it's crispy and the croissant is Brule' and it's the best with the chocolate chunk's too. You need too try these 2# Guava cheesecake is the best with so much great flavor, and I even shared my cheesecake it was that good. The bakery is clean and has tables inside to enjoy Croissant sandwiches Ham & Cheese, jalapeño & Cheese and coffee's I have to come back for more

    * great bakery * great lattes * service is great * casual ambiance I usually order my cakes here. My favorite cake here is strawberry short cake, we had tropical cake here super good tres leches is also good not too soggy. They have cute individual desert to have their cram brûlée is my favorite. For cakes order ahead of time they don't always have them available.

Here's your revised review with the correct name: --- I've passed by Terzo Café many times and noticed it never seems too busy, but I finally decided to give it a try. Last week, I had a chocolate croissant from the stand at the farmers market across the street, and while it was decent, I found it a bit too chewy. In contrast, the croissants and other baked goods at Terzo Café looked fantastic in their display case, so I decided to try one. Their selection is impressive, offering everything from large cakes to smaller, personal-sized versions, fruit tarts, and a variety of croissants--including classic butter, chocolate, and almond. I opted for a chocolate croissant, and it was far better than the one at the farmers market. It was light, airy, and perfectly flaky with a crisp texture, reminiscent of authentic French bakeries. For coffee, they only offer one size (16 ounces). I ordered a latte, which was well-made--smooth, flavorful, and heated to the perfect temperature. It was hot but not scalding, making it enjoyable from the first sip. The atmosphere is okay. The exterior looks a bit outdated and unremarkable, and while they do have a small indoor seating area, it's nothing special. Honestly, I'd recommend grabbing your coffee and baked goods and enjoying them at the park nearby instead. Overall, I'd definitely return for their pastries--they looked amazing, and the chocolate croissant was a standout. The vanilla latte was also solid, making this a great spot for a quick coffee and pastry fix.

No milk at base .. soaked up and reeked of rotten milk

Spoiled Tres Leches Cake ! First and last time coming to this establishment. I purchased a matcha latte along with 3 different pastries. I recently got braces for I was craving tres leches cake. I purchased two different flavored tres leches ( Pina colada and mocha). There was only 2 mocha left and trays full of pina colada. I tasted the pina colada slice first and immediately tasted a rotten milk hint. Upon, inspecting the cake .. I noticed there was no condensed milk at the base. Tres leches cake should be wet and moist but, this tres leches cake was completely dry since, it was old and the milk had been soaked up and reeked of rotten milk already. I couldn't believe a bakery would sell something old instead of discarding it. I went ahead and checked the second flavored tres lake cake (mocha) and it confirmed my nightmare ! I did taste spoiled cake!! This second slice was fresh and moist /wet and completely different from the pina colada slice. At this point, I was sick to my stomach from knowing the first slice was in fact, rotten. I ended up throwing it all away since, I was in such disgust knowing an establishment can sell spoiled goods to consumers.. will be reporting to health officials.

First of all, though I rate 3 stars it's more like 3.5 but some of my fav restaurants only get 4 so I can't really give this a 4. I have passed/drove by this bakery so many times and it was like 3-4 years ago I already said I wanted to check them out but never did until today. First impression, it's a small cafe, clean, ambiance is fine. Can definitely see myself enjoying something there. No outdoor seating (not that I saw) but there's a park crossed the street if really want to enjoy outdoor. The selection was really impressive! While we didn't get many items (cinnamon twist and the coffee cake) to go, they are better than I expected. I am not sure if cinnamon twist should be enjoyed re-heated. It's a bit hard on the dough and it looked like it's a croissant based dough. I didn't bother heating it up so that's probably on my part. Taste is good. Coffee cake is better than the cinnamon twist to my taste. I like the crumble and overall taste. Nothing like phenomenal but I definitely will go back. I wonder if they sell cake by slice as some of them look great and wanted to get a slice but we didn't ask this time. Nothing wrong with services but also definitely not the warm welcoming one where they try to help you out with questions. I could be giving it a 4 star if it was not for an additional service fee included for paying with card. I don't carry cash around. Not sure if they accept Venmo or anything else but if it wasn't for this, I could probably give it 4

This place is tucked in the corner near Chula Vista Civic Center and we ordered Iced Matcha Horchata and Strawberry drinks as well as blueberry pound cake, Oreo Cake, Tiramisu and Berry Tart. The drinks were mid and bakeries were delicious. Cute little place with a lovable charm.

Absolutely phenomenal cake, perfectly sweet but not too sweet, incredible texture and incredibly moist but not too wet like some tres leche cakes can be. Very impressed and felt like the price $45 was fair for such a fresh, delicious and big cake. We had half the cake left over from 6 adults and one child. My Dad loved it, thanks for the amazing cake and for being so helpful helping me pick which would be best. All around great experience and I can't wait to try other ones. They have a big variety of cakes all ready to go in their cake display. I chose the chocobombon since they didn't have any all vanilla cakes and this one had some vanilla in it and my husbands favorite is vanilla. I really liked that they had candles and cake decorations as well in the store and I bought a few Birthday embellishments which were all $1 each, great price! The staff was nice but not too friendly when I was trying to find out more about the cakes and flavors, I had to read the labels since she didn't provide me any details. The cake was just okay, it was very dense and a bit dry. The marshmallow frosting was a little thick and the overall flavors were definitely different but not sure I would get this flavor again. I would like to try a few more flavors and maybe a tres leches cake to see how those are. It is located in Chula Vista in a small shopping center, limited parking available.

They sell their señorita bread in multiples of 5, and the price scales proportionally. They also have some packaged breads at the checkout counter and a display case with donuts and malasadas. I got 5 señorita breads for $4, and a guava malasada. When I was handed my bag of goods, the señorita breads were still warm! I've never had this type of bread before so I have no comparison. However, the fat, cigar-shaped breads were really satisfying while hot and fresh. They are buttery, sugary, and chewy inside. The texture was a bit homogenous for me, but still quite tasty. I had a second one hours later and it was not as nice. I think they would definitely benefit from a reheat if you have leftovers. The guava malasada was not my favorite. The jam inside was more musty than fragrant, and very artificially red. The dough itself was well-fried and soft, even fresh out of the refrigerator on the second day. I love the textural difference of the sugar crystals on the surface, compared to a traditional donut glaze. I ended up scooping the guava filling out of the middle and eating the fried bread. Overall, while I enjoyed the señorita breads, Chula Vista is a bit of a trek and I would not go out of my way to get them. I am interested in trying Starbread in the Bay, to see if they taste different.

The moment you walk through the door, the smell of fresh baked pan hits you and it is everything. The selection of pan dulce and bolillos had me feeling like I was back in Mexico City. So many options, beautifully displayed. That part alone almost made the trip worth it. But the customer service... yeah, I'm not the only one who noticed. I asked the lady at the register in Spanish if there was any chocolate pan de muerto and she completely ignored me. Like, didn't even look up. Just called someone from the back in Spanish, which, mija, I understood every word. The girl who came to help me was a little better but not much. She told me the chocolate pan de muerto was sold out, which fine, I get it, it was a holiday. But that's literally all you had to say. No smile, no "sorry we're out," nothing. I'll probably go back for the pan because it really is that good, but I'm keeping my expectations low on the service side.
